Chichen Itza w/Leopard Bonus
I can’t help myself. I’m starting with the leopard, although the post’s header is Chichen Itza.

I seem to find a lot of these larger, hard to photograph murals.

We’re all fortunate that I am not showing more pics of the cat’s head. I was out of control photographing it!

THANK YOU to all of the artists!

Ukulele Lady
On a minimal find graf hunt day, I came across this mural.

It was in the process of being painted.

I met the artists. They spoke broken English. I spoke broken Spanish.

Despite the language differences, I learned that the artists were working with youths who had lost one or both parents to drug addiction.

I went back 6 days later to photograph the result.

The ukulele originated in Hawaii. It is related to several Portuguese instruments, in particular the machete and the rajão.

The Artists:
Below is a pic from the day I met the artists, when the kids were helping.

Just Chilling
I saw this going by on a street car. It was very high up.

Definitely a large billboard size, I wondered if it was maybe going to be a beer ad, but something felt different than advertising.

I returned 3 weeks later, and no, no ad. It’s art, by one of my absolute faves, Jarus.

Extremely difficult to capture with my camera phone.

I adore the sky blue background, the blue shirt several shades a darker sky blue, the blue grey of the painted cement he sits on, and the green trees in the distance darkened by blue. The painting seems part of the sky and of earth, all at the same time.

Driverless Street Art Eco-Car Premieres in Kensington Market
The street artists are very busy this summer!
This car is a big hit! Kensington is a popular tourist destination, and everyone wanted their pic taken beside this. I had to hang around for quite awhile to get my shots.
Also, it’s parked in front of one of my fave murals, which I did a post on 2 years ago. I call it Kensington Flower Girl. Check it out!

The artist is unknown to me at this time. As always, I will update, if I find out.
Argentina – Independence Day
On July 9, 2017, Argentina has 201 years to its independence history.

I felt Argentina when I saw this mini-mural, so I sent a pic off to Aquileana from La Audacia de Aquiles, after all, she lives in Argentina.

She replied, “YES that graffiti certainly seems to depict Argentina…. Tango… Perhaps milongas ( a tango style).”

It’s like I can hear and feel the music all the way up here in Canada!

⭐ BONUS ⭐ Aquileana sent us some street art from The Boca Juniors Stadium!

“I added several murals surrounding the stadium …
And two pics from the streets nearby it”
“Boca Juniors is one of the two most popular football clubs in Argentina…. Alongside River Plate…. they hate each other… I am a Boca Juniors´fan :D”
“The iconography of these murals is very ARGENTINE.”
⭐ EXTRA BONUS ⭐
Aquileana sent pics from Caminito!

“In (some of) Caminito´s murals you can see a typical family and a technique to write words called FILETEADO.”
“You can Google: Caminito, Buenos Aires, Argentina to see the location, etc…”
I certainly did, and it looks very interesting, not just the location, but the shops and the views!

Argentina’s flag

Argentina’s flower – Ceibo

Argentina’s National Animal – Cougar or Puma- I thought this looked like one, although the smile is a bit sweet. It is from my collection.
Argentina’s National bird: Rufous Hornero

Your contributions are fabulous! I have learned more about Argentina in doing this one post, than in my entire life. (except for about Eva Peron)
