Welcome blogivision viewers to GLAM’s 1500th post! It’s aG0-Go Gala& I’m MC Boogapony Holly.!
Tonight’s theme is GLAM’stagline,“Luxuriating in the Arts”. You will be treated to poetry, music, dancing, painting, comedy, graffiti and lots of cool fashion, as I work my way through costume changes.
My fab outfit above is inspired by the poem below, which in turn was inspired by a different outfit. That said outfit was inspired by a fusion of 2 groovy personalities. One was real, and the other imagined. Try and guess the answer to this riddle! Outfit, more clues & answer are at the end!
Okay! Time to liven things up! Time to“Pony On Down”Graffiti Alley to the vintage harmonies of “The Beach Boys”!
That was exhilarating and exhausting. Good thing I have this stunning Graffiti Lux art wall that looks like stained glass to lean on. Which brings us to the art part of our show.
Below is a mural, rendered in a realism style, of Charlie Chaplin and a vaudeville company in 1914. Charlie stayed at the now decrepit hotel it is painted on. Learn more about this mural on a podcast featuring moi, on Tea Toast and Trivia!
However, art has been created in many styles over time. Right now I’m thinking of the successful artist of the 60’s, Andy Warhol. He began the Pop Art movement. Crazy what he did with soup cans.
Not to be forgotten is Op Art. However, to be totally original, I’m starting the Oops Art Movement, as imagined above!
Now, for the first time on any stage anywhere, to present GLAM’scommemorative gift to all of you, is my kid sister. Take it awayBoogalu LuLu!
So, umm, like before I tell you what the gift is, I got this song to play for you. Don’t let the treacle voice of 26 year old Bella Poarch fool you! The message is killer.
Okay, so like, you’re all getting a freeBoogapony Holly Paper Dolldownload. Don’t worry, the paper doll won’t kill you! Although you might get a paper cut, so there is that.
….. And thank you Boogalu LuLu! That was … a song!
Now it’s time for more clues and theRIDDLE ANSWER!
Here I am in the originally inspired fusion outfit, that inspired Holly’s poem. Take a good look! There’s 2 personalities in the styling.
More Clues – can you guess who the 2 personalities are?
Before the curtain closes on GLAM’s Go-Go Gala, I’m going to Go-Go my way through some surrealistic art to the sounds of Corey Hart singing.
Thank you all for being here to help me celebrate, dear friends! Now, I leave you with a parting question and a final fashion tip:
QUESTION
If a multitude of graffiti tags are all piled upon each other in 1 spot, does that create a work of art in its own right?
It’s official!Boogapony Holly is on tour! After ponying on down to a slew of Chicago’s street art, she took off in a Paco Rabanne chain link mini dress w/ Go-Go boots.
She bought this art car, to make the trip to Monterey, California. Although 54 years late to the summer of love party, its spirit beckoned.
Celeste bagged the job of driving Boogapoy’s old van. Along with on loading, off loading and setting up, she’s a pretty good back up dancer; a true Poniette.
Don’t miss the magic,as they hit some of the nation’s sweetest street art and attractions along Route 66.
Miles of Route 66 are un-drivable. Interstate detours are necessary. In Missouri, over 300 miles run SW from St. Louis to Joplin. Fab diners & vintage roadside attractions are all waiting for the Boogapony experience & photo op.
St. Louis to Tulsa is the heart of Route 66. It’s where east meets west. Much of this stretch is on I-44. Be There!Boogapony & Celeste will Freestyle in the exact centre, wherever it is.
The Kansas section of Route 66 is short but sweet, 13.2 miles to be exact. There will be 1 Go-Go at mile 6.6.
A classic pony-down will happen at the Blue Whale of Catoosa, a featured point of interest along almost 400 well tended drivable miles of Route 66 running through Oklahoma.
The Lone Star State has about 180 miles of old Route 66 road remaining. Boogapony and Celeste getting on down to the very best roadside attractions, in the panhandle of Texas, is a Must See!
Albuquerque is a highlight stop. Here she’ll be visiting Tim’s Magic Tree Sanctuary , and doing some serious tree hugging. Watch out for the performance a Go-Goin the old downtown strip right on Route 66!
Celeste will be featured doing the “Frug” in Oatman. This ghost town, located at the edge of Arizona on Route 66, is perched 2,700 feet above sea level.
The Santa Monica Pier marks the end of Route 66, but not the end of the Flower Power Tour. You can check out Boogapony at the Whiskey a Go Go on Sunset Boulevard! Here she fuses the Pony, the Hitch-Hiker, the Shimmy and more.
Monterey is the next dance stop. Here she’ll reprise Resa’s World & COOPfamous Egg Dance, in memory of the Flower Children. Where did they all go?
You’ll want to hearBoogapony slam poetry, dancing all the while! Find her at the corner of Haight Ashbury, San Francisco!
It’s the end of the Flower Power Tour, but wait! Boogapony is headed back to New York City to perform in a newly revived version of the musical “HAIR”!!! The summer of love, much like the force, is with us.
I found this in an alley, & it made me think of Holly from House Of Heart
I sent a pic to Holly and asked, “Does this look like you?” She answered positively yes, then mentioned something about ducking lightening.
Then I muttered I should be doing graffiti tours in Toronto. Holly said she’d drive the bus. Well, one thing lead to another, and we formed the Boogapony Dancers.
Of course we would need the perfect outfit to dance in front of graffiti, street art and murals. We came up with the outfit you see here.
