My Tree

That’s my tree under the centre of the rainbow. It lives on Tim’s place in New Mexico, with others’ trees under the rainbow.

My tree has inspired me for several years now. Perhaps because Tim & I get a kick out of music parodies, I can’t stop singing “My Tree” to the tune of “My Girl”.

I’ve got sunshine

On a cloudy day

And when it’s cold outside

I’ve got the month of May

I guess you’ll say – What can make me feel this way

My tree

My tree

My tree

Talking bout my tree

My tree

For those of you who don’t know the song, or who would like to hear it again here is – My Tree .. ahem Girl. “My Girl”

I call it Tim’s Magic Tree Sanctuary. The trees come in especially handy for the “Gowntoons”. Thank you dear Tim, for my tree!

Twas the Night Before Chickmas

BY Georgiann Carlson

It’s lots of fun celebrating CHICKMAS at The Coop! Gigi has made this in 3 posts, so here I have put them all together. Thank you Gigi! Adore you!

Twas’ the night before Chickmas

Twas’ the night before Chickmas
and all through The Coop
the chicklets were playing
with their hula hoops

The stockings were hung by the chimney with care
in hopes that St. Chicklaus soon would be there

the chicklets were sleeping
all snug in their beds
while visions of corn bread
danced fast in their heads

the hens in their kerchiefs
the roosters in caps
didn’t have time
for a long
winter’s nap

when out on the lawn
there arose such a clatter
they ran to the window
to see what was the matter

and what to their wondering eyes
did appear
but a miniature sleigh
and one tiny reindeer

as they drew in their heads
they heard a new sound
and there was St. Chicklaus
when they turned around

There were gifts for the chicklets
the hens and the cats
the dogs and the roosters
the horses and bats
the cows and the goats
the birds and the ducks
even the pigs and the squirrels were in luck
all were included
it’s always that way
so everyone there
had the very best day

HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL MY WP PALS!

Two years ago I put all the Twelve Days of Chickmas (also by Gigi) into 1 post. It’s lots of fun to read. Just click on the card below, to go there!

The Mush Heads Gang Up!

Now that I’ve stopped the salty discharge from my eyes, I must thank 4 of my blog pals, Gigi, Holly, Beth and Dale for their sweet birthday wishes.

Holly – House of Heart  wrote this beautiful poem for me. She used this photo and the song “Dance To the Music” by Sly & the Family Stone. The link is hot and will take you to the post!

Ascending the
Cantilever staircase as light
as a blizzard of feathers

her hair is the color of passion fruit gathered from a late summer orchard, her eyes as soft as butterfly wings lit high on pear shaped cheekbones.

She is a rhapsody,
a melody of mirth. With a wink
and a smile she invites us in to her world of silk and tapestry.

Beth used a pic of my new Art Gown.

Beth wrote:

you are an amazing talent

telling stories with your styles

 making real life connections

between people in the realm of blogs

may you never stop creating art gowns, finding meaningful art in murals,

and being an incredibly creative and inspiring part of our story.

Dale – aka Thunder wrote:

For Our Lovely Sorceress, Resa

She sent fireworks & flowers, and a pic I drew of The gang of AGMs! Click on the drawing and see Dale’s full post!

Last but not least, the instigator – Gigi!

Gigi went all out with a Chicklet drawing (which is the header for this post), and  pointing out how much I love animals:

Animal lover and vegetarian

She included my art on the guitar Tim made. However, the best part is I’m finally getting credit for my “Egg Dance”.

I am deeply touched by all who left birthday wishes on the Mush Heads’ blogs.

It’s overwhelming, and would take me days to answer you all in the comments. So this is for you and the Mush Heads. 2 bouquets of roses, and a photo of me taking a bath!

Much love to all!

Love Sweet Love

Feeling a bit mushy these last weeks. Apparently you can’t reblog twice. Holly did this post on October 29, 2020. Loved it then. Love it now. Her message is more important now than ever. Yes, I did the costumes in the vid.

Resa and Norm

Recently I came across a photograph of our lovely Fashionista, Resa McConaghy, and her beloved Norm.

Norman is a GUITAR PLAYER & COMPOSER. They lived in Miami for almost a year in the 80’s. Norman was working on writing songs and had an arrangement with a recording studio there. They lived in an amazing older home on Miami Beach. It was quite grand with a Florida Room and a maid’s apartment along the side. Per Resa, The original owners must of had a fab life there. They were renting it from an Argentine businessman who had bought it.
When they returned with Norm’s songs it led to a record deal in the 1990’s.

Love is What is Needed

I Can Never Thank Holly Enough For Her Friendship!

Holiday Scrapbook

The Easter Party at the Coop was so wonderful, that I have made a scrapbook to remember the festivities.

As always, upon arrival we a were met by part of the Welcoming Committee.

However, Preparations Began Days Before.

“As you can well imagine, the kitchen was a very busy place. But the problem with chocolate bunnies remained.  The Chicklets really tried not to eat them right aways, but they couldn’t seem to help themselves.”

Easter Eggs were dyed, and so were some of the Chicklets, by accident, of course! All staging and rigging was checked and rechecked.

Then the guests began arriving. After a hearty breakfast of Holly’s corn bread and treats, those who live at The Coop, as well as their guests, had a rest period before dinner.

“The night was filled with a variety show, Story Time (Beth), a coloring contest and a pyjama party, which was be held in the horse barn. As for the adults, there were meetings outlining the next Factory Farm raids and updates form the other Coops.”

THE SHOW WAS A MASSIVE SUCCESS

Chicklet Mary and Peppercorn

“Each year Mary and Peppercorn reprise their Mary and a Lamb skit.  This year they were back with a new version of the old story.”

Poetry

Honey, Lester, Lois and Wings recited poems they had written. You can pause the slides, & lower the icon to read them.

The Sun Is Almost Down, and the Easter Ballet Begins

“The Chicklets, along with Beth, Holly and Melanie, danced the Easter Bunny Ballet. It was a free form ballet, to music by Queen. The women not only danced with the Chicklets, they picked them up and twirled and leaped with them in their arms, for 37 minutes.”

The final act, the spine tingling, EGG DANCE, by MOI!

Every year The Resa’s Egg Committee, makes a different Egg for me. It’s a dance of rebirth and new beginnings.  It takes about forty-five minutes.

The next day, the weather had warmed up, so the Chicklets and their guests had a picnic at the Rubber Duck Pond.

Dear Gigi, as an extra added thank you filled with love, Holly  will recite the special poem she wrote for the poetry slam a couple of years ago. I’m sure Melanie and Beth second the emotion.

I wrote this poem for you.

I want it to be perfect,

its verses soft as  bunny ears

and chicklets sweet as candy corn

beneath the star lit tents.

Let’s shake our tambourines

to Resa’s famous Egg Dance

and float some feathery  kisses to Gigi

For bringing us all here.

Love, sweet love

Dear Holly from House of Heart made a sweet and beautiful post after she saw this photo of me and my guitar player love! She even wrote a poem. I’m so honoured!!!

There’s more words in her post, and a couple of videos.  Find it at https://houseofheartweb.wordpress.com/2020/10/29/love-sweet-love/
