On POLITICS
“The wall with the judge was painted in the village of Son Servera, and it talks about the freedom of speech. A Spanish rapper was condemned to jail just for the lyrics of his songs… ridiculous.”
The wall “Congreso De Los Imputados” is about politics.
“At the entrance of the Spanish parliament (congreso de los diputados): I changed the word diputados for imputados, (that means imputed). There are 2 lions, so I painted 1 of them (changing the ball for a prisoner ball), to criticize the government and the corruption.”
On SOCIAL ISSUES
“I also attached the image of the last wall with my project “Som-Riu”. This week I’m gonna start another “Som-Riu” project in another village.”

With HUMOR
Sath’s sense of humor is precious, whatever he decides to say with it.

“For the live painting shows, I paint in front of the public during music festivals. They can get tickets to win the painting with a raffle at the end”.
I asked Sath about the above shot.
“The organization in that case was called “renou col-lectiu” that in Catalan language means “collective noise”.

Sath hails from Mallorca (Spain). He uses spray & acrylic paint to create colorful pieces, slightly surreal. He uses figurative elements, & impossible situations or actions, but he never neglects the message.

To the right of the stone entrance marker, with planter flowers (last pic, previous post), there is road with a strip mall to the right.
Notice anything about the name of the cafe?
Next to the cafe, there is an apartment building. A man walks his dog.
Across the street, we enter the east side of the tunnel.

The Artist: Emilia Jajus
I start with a car roof reflection of Elicsr’s wall portrait of Frida Kahlo.
Mexican artist Frida Kahlo (1907 – 1954) is remembered for her self-portraits, and paintings filled with bold colors & Mexican and indigenous culture .
I believe the title “Queen” comes from the idea that she is the original”Selfies Queen”. This article from “The Guardian” Frida Kahlo: feminist, selfie queen, queer icon and style muse of 2017 is very interesting.
In 2006, Frida Kahlo self-portrait, Roots, was sold for $5.62 million at Sotheby’s, NYC.

The Artist:
This painting is quite old for alley art. Possibly 10 years. It has survived in a heavily tagged area.
The WINNIPEG JETS are in the Western Conference final. I’ve been a fan of the “Jets” since 2014. Sherrie has me all wound up!
This mural features the “Golden Jet” Bobby Hull whose slapshot was once clocked at 152.9 km/h. He was the first player in the NHL to sign a million dollar deal.
This mural also features Sherri’s fave, Teemu Selanne, inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame
Selanne Returned to Winnipeg for game six & got a standing ovation!
Bobby Hull & others have also returned to Winnipeg in the heat of the playoffs. “It’s going to be a hell of a game” says Bobby!

Burton, is a much loved son of Winnipeg.
This is a classic style Graffiti Mural. It has an image & writing.
This is part of the Seven Wonders of the World series in Chinatown east.

Here’s another painted truss from Underpass Park.
The fact that it’s B & W highlights the effect of the sun from different positions in the underpass.
This one is painted on all 4 sides.
Even the underside is painted.
