Thank You Teagan!

Recently, Teagan Ríordáin Geneviene from Teagan’s Books offered free copies of her book; “The Glowing Pigs – Snort Stories of Atonement, Tennessee” to her readers.

Teagan thought that the the shorts of her magical glowing pigs would brighten up some of our days during isolation. As for me, I love love loved it, and am still basking in the glow. I have gone through my pics to find art of pigs, and return some of the whimsy & joy.

Above are 2 pigs painted by “Bacon”. Odd name considering the art is on the side of a vegan restaurant. I’m considering them to be the Siskel and Ebert of pig stories.

“Two Snouts Up”, they snort in unison!

Deme and Honeybell, 2 sweet and lovely glowing pigs, are the stars of the Snorts. They use their magic to do good things. Honeybell wishes she was as bold as Deme, but they are partners in adventure.

“So what? You have to be a good looking gal, to get to be a glowing pig?” grunts the disgruntled regular street art pig.

A much wiser pig, from a Chinese Zodiac mural, knows different.

“I think all pigs are wonderful in Teagan’s glowing mind. I’ll have to read more to be sure, but I’m making the prediction here!”

The Glowing Pigs stories take place in Atonement, Tennessee. Teagan has written  two main books about Atonement: Atonement, Tennessee & Atonement in Bloom.

Find all links to Teagan’s The Atonement, TN universe of urban fantasies at the end of the post!

Besides the many other books Teagan has written, she engages us all in a serial most Saturdays. Right now we’re river boating, and participating, on The Delta Pearl. So hop aboard, enjoy the trip and check out some of Teagan’s Other Books by clicking on the Riverboat Steampunk image above.

Holly’s Upside Down Garden

A canvas of flowers in Holly’s

Upside down garden.

I love hanging round realities of prose

No right, no nor wrong

Just a song

Metaphors & entendres.

Roses in bloom & sea birds in hand

She hangs her fruits from stray branches

In Holly’s upside down garden.

Written for Holly – HoH

This is a very old mural, painted on stucco, chipped & weathered. Still, when I saw it, I loved it and I thought “OMG that’s young Holly”

PS. She did hang upside down from the monkey bars. So did I. The rest is secret!

The Blue-Eyed Cat

This tale by Mike Steeden is one of the most imaginative stories I have ever read.

Using street art, I will present a feel that moves along with the book’s official blurb.

‘A book of mind boggling time-travel,

feverish sex, syrupy romance,

ho hum history,

a dark future, The Moon,

Constantinople,

Paris and Berlin,

human consciousness, infinity,

a tongue in cheek take on all things carnal,

art for art’s sake

and three thoroughly mad yet oh so delightful gals’

I drew one a one-eyed blue-eyed cat, for Mike. Mike, Eye’m sure this is nothing you ever imagined. However, after reading “The Blue-Eyed Cat”, which I thoroughly enjoyed,I was inspired to this! Also, I believe the video below is apropos.

You Spin Me Round

Okay, week 6 of isolating is upon me.

Like many, I am very cooped up at home, venturing out for necessities, only.

I’d prefer to run in the wind, wild and free.

But, we must flatten the curve!

Anyway, I’m determined to have some fun. So, while Covid spins us sadly around,

I’m spinning the spin, until we win!

Blue Wolf

I fell in love with this classic piece of alley art the second I laid eyes on it!

I shot from across the oddly busy alley, by a parked car. Parked cars offer a huge bit of protection from moving traffic.

The car also worked well for reflections. Note the woman’s face at the bottom of the reflection. This is from a mural I posted last year, & it’s on the side street. Cool, huh?

Then I shot strange angles from the side of the street the mural was painted on.

I ❤️ Support Workers

Who ever thought the food industry could become a dangerous business?

We gotta eat, right?

I sit and think how grateful I am for everything so many are doing to keep life rolling along this very bumpy Coronavirus road.

Bakers still bake bread.

Deliveries need to be made to store, and direct to homes. Truckers with big rigs and drivers in vans are all more important than ever, now.

I’m thankful for First Responders: Firefighters, EMS & Police.

Thank you to farmers who must keep our food growing!

Public transportation is still running in Toronto, but there’s not a lot of riders, as people  work from home  a lot  these  days.

Someone has to drive these things, and I thank them!

There’s more! Pharmacists, Sanitation workers, Postal workers, public works such as water, electricity and many I can’t think of right now….OH! the wine store workers. Thank you! Let me know in comments who I missed, and I will add them!

What’s that saying I hear a lot of these days? “We’ll all get through this, together!”

Only The Lonely

This post is dedicated to Drew, The Lonely Author!

Lonely, as I like to call him, has been resting up in the Dominican Republic.  After a couple of heart attacks, he now awaits surgery.

Restless, I went for an alley walk (no problem keeping social distance in the alleys) and was rewarded with 3 fab garage doors. The moment I laid eyes on this painting, I thought of Lonely.

I have no idea what he looks like, but I know how he feels to me. Lonely is an incurable romantic, and that fact is reflected in his well written & passionate poetry. The colours in this art are like all of the colours, from the various moods, in his poems.

I don’t know what the artist meant by the bleeding purple heart, but that’s Lonely, to me. His heart leads his way. It seems like this image, was painted especially for him.

So join me in wishing Lonely a big GET WELL SOON! After all, he needs to get back to his series “Inspiring Woman Of WordPress”. He was only 2 dedications into the series, when he became ill. I am grateful to have been one of the two.

I picked this song out for you, Lonely. I hope you like it!
