The almost solstice sun cast long shadows, on older tidy garage doors.
This door had vines growing over it. Shadows cast are dramatic, veil-like.
She wears a blue butterfly in her hair.

Queen Frida
I start with a car roof reflection of Elicsr’s wall portrait of Frida Kahlo.
Mexican artist Frida Kahlo (1907 – 1954) is remembered for her self-portraits, and paintings filled with bold colors & Mexican and indigenous culture .
I believe the title “Queen” comes from the idea that she is the original”Selfies Queen”. This article from “The Guardian” Frida Kahlo: feminist, selfie queen, queer icon and style muse of 2017 is very interesting.
In 2006, Frida Kahlo self-portrait, Roots, was sold for $5.62 million at Sotheby’s, NYC.

This painting is quite old for alley art. Possibly 10 years. It has survived in a heavily tagged area.
The Dirty Bird
Elicsr has built a lovely flirtation into this mural.
In an area of Toronto heavy with street art, Elicsr holds fast his creative style,
…while making some coin doing a commercial mural.
He has put eons into painting the streets & alleys of Toronto.
Oddly enough, The Dirty Bird is a waffles & chicken joint.
I like waffles!
I imagine this is made from fresh frozen strawberries & almond milk. In reality, a classic milkshake.
Lots of maple syrup.

Christ the Redeemer
Lucky shot! The rays & light arc are due to the sun coming up from behind the building.
This piece of street art is based on the Mount Corcovado, Brazil, statue of Christ the Redeemer.
Built in the 1920s by Heitor da Silva Costa, it is an art-deco statue designed by Paul Landowski.
Considered a symbol of Rio de Janeiro, Christ the Redeemer is the 5th biggest statue of Jesus in the world.
This was truly a challenge to capture. The dead end alley is very narrow, and filled with a host of debris and machinery. I shot from below.
I zoomed in.
I shot from across the street, which is why there are wires in the shot below..
I stood on a 2 foot high pile of collapsed, waxed cardboard boxes.
When I stumbled out of the alley, a car had parked in the entrance. Yay, reflections!
Christ the Redeemer was vandalized in 2010 by a house painter. He had tagged his head and right arm with graffiti.

Artists: This painting is part of a project of 7 wonders of the world. Mike Kennedy became project coordinator. Many artists, including students were involved.
Mike Kennedy passed away recently. A memorial wall was painted by many of the artists he worked with. I will post that in the near future.
This statue became one of the Seven New Wonders of the World on July 7, 2007.
Shark in the Alley

Looks like it’s about to gobble up the boats!
It looks like a double garage, with a single beside.

Easter Pigeon
There are Easter Bunnies & Easter Eggs, but all I have is a pigeon.
If the pigeon looks like it’s spraying graffiti, well, it is.
I think the colors look Easter Eggy!
