This is cheerful. really nice. Okay going to step out on a limb here and show my ignorance, what is the difference between a tag and a signature? i know, I know, I’m old just speak slowly when you give me the answer. 😉

Valid question!
A “signature” is the name or initials &/or date of the artist who painted the piece. It’s the same as any artist who signs their work.
A “tag” is the mark of someone who had nothing to do with the work of art, but signs it anyway, or worse, mars the piece by imposing their “tag” on a highlight of piece. Sometimes “tags” can obliterate a work
“Tags” also show up on telephone poles, mail boxes and garbage dumpsters. Sometimes “taggers” will make their marks around a piece, but not on it, thereby showing a respect.
Tags can be gang related.
