Revenge of the Egg

This is the 3rd time that the egg outside of the Art Store has been painted over.

The Egg is oval. However, when I used the Pano setting on my IPhone, it came out round. Go figure!

The top of the Egg was higher than me, and hard to capture. The Egg is about 6 feet tall. (1.83 M). The sun was high up, glaring upon the top of the Egg.

Still, an interesting challenge to capture it for us all.

This is a realistic side view of the Egg. Some may remember the first Egg I posted – Egg of Birdo

A car was blocking my ability to go all around the Egg, but the car was black & all clean and shiny. The next 4 reflections are lots of fun.

I’m partial to Eggs. I don’t eat them, but I do an interpretive dance called “The Egg Dance”.  It was performed last at The Chicklets’ Poetry Party in April. Click on the pice to enjoy an encore performance!

Blue Tit & Arnie in Blue

Direct from Manchester, UK; courtesy of Alex Morris via Professional Moron is this fabulous wall art of a Blue Tit,  by Sarah Yates.

“This piece was commissioned in 2011 by Converse as part of the Wall to Wall project. Sarah Yates is an illustrator focusing on topics of environmental awareness. She is well known for mixing graffiti with graphic design and taking inspiration from nature, especially from birds, which are her favourite subjects, as we can see in this large-scale mural depicting a large blue tit.”

As a thank you to Alex, I present this garage door art of Arnold Schwarzenegger.

I find the piece quite humorous, indeed.

If you have ever been to the Professional Moron blog, you will see that humour reigns supreme, which makes this the most apt thank you.

Of course it’s not all fun, much of which can involve Arnie & other famous personalities. Alex does fab book reviews, movie reviews and game reviews.

🌼Humungous thank you’s to Alex for the Blue Tit!🌼

You’ve Got To Run (Spirit Of The Wind) w/ Sundance Song

A new Indigenous inspired mural, by Philip Cote, graces my hood; the Village of Roncesvalles.

A new to me song, by Buffy Saint Marie & throat singer Tanya Tagaq, graces my spirit. You Got To Run (Spirit Of The Wind) is the most powerful song I’ve ever heard.

I’M BLOWN AWAY

You could listen while perusing the rest of the mural, but I doubt you will be able to take your focus off of the intense performances.

Here are some of the murals hi-lights.

Philip Cote says about the mural “I am here doing a Sundance song to honour the ancestors and recognize where I come from”

Roncesvalles was originally settled by Colonel Walter O’Hara in 1850. O’Hara (Irish), a soldier in the British army was captured by the French in the Roncesvalles Gorge in Spain; hence the name Roncesvalles.

Buffy, a multi-media artist, rose to prominence  in the late  60’s, with the  folk  music  movement.  However, once she began using her voice to support native causes, her songs were  censored in  the USA, and yanked from playlists.

Someone said (paraphrasing) It’s amazing how afraid powerful men in suits are, of a girl with a guitar.

🎨 Frida Kahlo 🎨

This is the second Frida Kahlo piece I’ve found.

I met the artist, Anya, while traversing alleys and parking lots. OMG! She was so neat. She spent time chit-chatting with me.

She said the art would be done by Thursday end. She had another art engagement on Friday. I didn’t think Anya & MSKA, who was assisting with B.G., would make the date. Wednesday rained all day.

She showed me the self portrait she was basing this mural on.

LOVE the hand/glove earrings!!!

I went back Sunday. It’s not quite finished, but I shot it anyway. I don’t know when I’ll get back there.

I adore the way she has Frida emerging out of the wings of a Monarch. When I returned, dumpsters had been moved in.

I shoot them as I get them.
