In the land of street art, I don’t find a lot of older faces.
I like this face & art style!

I finally made my way to Graffiti Alley, as my ankle is mostly better.
We are in a Stay At Home Order, so there was not a lot of new art. We are allowed to go for walks. This was a 2.5 hour walk.
This piece of art is new!
It’s paint over paint, paint beside paint and paint to go with someone else’s paint.
So, I don’t know who did this when.
The artist who painted the face, may or may not be who painted the words.
Graffiti Alley is a shrinking network of lanes and alleys in the Queen West area. It’s shrinking to make way for development.
I’ve had some great times here.
I found Gigi in another alley on the way home! Love you, Gi! You deserve to be part of all this sweet and gorgeous alley art!

It’s official! Boogapony Holly is on tour! After ponying on down to a slew of Chicago’s street art, she took off in a Paco Rabanne chain link mini dress w/ Go-Go boots.
She bought this art car, to make the trip to Monterey, California. Although 54 years late to the summer of love party, its spirit beckoned.
Celeste bagged the job of driving Boogapoy’s old van. Along with on loading, off loading and setting up, she’s a pretty good back up dancer; a true Poniette.
Don’t miss the magic, as they hit some of the nation’s sweetest street art and attractions along Route 66.
Miles of Route 66 are un-drivable. Interstate detours are necessary. In Missouri, over 300 miles run SW from St. Louis to Joplin. Fab diners & vintage roadside attractions are all waiting for the Boogapony experience & photo op.
St. Louis to Tulsa is the heart of Route 66. It’s where east meets west. Much of this stretch is on I-44. Be There! Boogapony & Celeste will Freestyle in the exact centre, wherever it is.
The Kansas section of Route 66 is short but sweet, 13.2 miles to be exact. There will be 1 Go-Go at mile 6.6.
A classic pony-down will happen at the Blue Whale of Catoosa, a featured point of interest along almost 400 well tended drivable miles of Route 66 running through Oklahoma.
The Lone Star State has about 180 miles of old Route 66 road remaining. Boogapony and Celeste getting on down to the very best roadside attractions, in the panhandle of Texas, is a Must See!
Albuquerque is a highlight stop. Here she’ll be visiting Tim’s Magic Tree Sanctuary , and doing some serious tree hugging. Watch out for the performance a Go-Go in the old downtown strip right on Route 66!
Celeste will be featured doing the “Frug” in Oatman. This ghost town, located at the edge of Arizona on Route 66, is perched 2,700 feet above sea level.
The Santa Monica Pier marks the end of Route 66, but not the end of the Flower Power Tour. You can check out Boogapony at the Whiskey a Go Go on Sunset Boulevard! Here she fuses the Pony, the Hitch-Hiker, the Shimmy and more.
Monterey is the next dance stop. Here she’ll reprise Resa’s World & COOP famous Egg Dance, in memory of the Flower Children. Where did they all go?
You’ll want to hear Boogapony slam poetry, dancing all the while! Find her at the corner of Haight Ashbury, San Francisco!
It’s the end of the Flower Power Tour, but wait! Boogapony is headed back to New York City to perform in a newly revived version of the musical “HAIR”!!! The summer of love, much like the force, is with us.

I liked this a lot when I found it in Kensington Market.
It fell into the un-posted hoards in my photos archives.
Due to the lockdown, I haven’t been able to leave my extended hood for over a year.
Holly – House of Heart suggested I comb my photos stash. I found about 50 pieces. Thank you, dahling!

CAT BONUS
This cat has been on top of the world, ever since I can remember. It’s on the way out of Kensington Market, on Dundas West.
Hopefully the stash will help until some more art pops up in my walking zone.

I have only posted one other piece of what looks like street art, but it’s actually advertising something.
Obviously this mural is advertising Jimmy’s Coffee. Jimmy’s Coffee is a local Toronto business that began in 2009. It has several outlets now.
It’s a well done black and white mural, with the coffee cups in bright yellow. I am presenting the mural both as is, and through different filters.
I like the all black and white best.
The portraiture looks fab to me!
Jimi Hendrix & Jimmy Page …. 2 fantastic guitar players!

There are only 3 other indoor murals in my collection. Oddly enough they are portraits of famous people. They decorate a pool hall in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

They are: Bogey & Elvis, Marylin Monroe & James Dean and The Duke & Brando

They were posted in 2015. Click on the pics to visit the posts!

The Easter Party at the Coop was so wonderful, that I have made a scrapbook to remember the festivities.
As always, upon arrival we a were met by part of the Welcoming Committee.
However, Preparations Began Days Before.
“As you can well imagine, the kitchen was a very busy place. But the problem with chocolate bunnies remained. The Chicklets really tried not to eat them right aways, but they couldn’t seem to help themselves.”
Easter Eggs were dyed, and so were some of the Chicklets, by accident, of course! All staging and rigging was checked and rechecked.
Then the guests began arriving. After a hearty breakfast of Holly’s corn bread and treats, those who live at The Coop, as well as their guests, had a rest period before dinner.
“The night was filled with a variety show, Story Time (Beth), a coloring contest and a pyjama party, which was be held in the horse barn. As for the adults, there were meetings outlining the next Factory Farm raids and updates form the other Coops.”
THE SHOW WAS A MASSIVE SUCCESS
“Each year Mary and Peppercorn reprise their Mary and a Lamb skit. This year they were back with a new version of the old story.”
Honey, Lester, Lois and Wings recited poems they had written. You can pause the slides, & lower the icon to read them.
“The Chicklets, along with Beth, Holly and Melanie, danced the Easter Bunny Ballet. It was a free form ballet, to music by Queen. The women not only danced with the Chicklets, they picked them up and twirled and leaped with them in their arms, for 37 minutes.”
Every year The Resa’s Egg Committee, makes a different Egg for me. It’s a dance of rebirth and new beginnings. It takes about forty-five minutes.
The next day, the weather had warmed up, so the Chicklets and their guests had a picnic at the Rubber Duck Pond.

Dear Gigi, as an extra added thank you filled with love, Holly will recite the special poem she wrote for the poetry slam a couple of years ago. I’m sure Melanie and Beth second the emotion.
I wrote this poem for you.
I want it to be perfect,
its verses soft as bunny ears
and chicklets sweet as candy corn
beneath the star lit tents.
Let’s shake our tambourines
to Resa’s famous Egg Dance
and float some feathery kisses to Gigi
For bringing us all here.
So, I found this alley that was like Alice’s Wonderland, in a way.

Then, when I went to post it, the Classic Editor was GONE. Now, I’m in another type of wonderland.

I had a lovely chat with one of the happiness engineers.

I’m not getting my old editor back, but there is an classic-ish option within the blockhead. I’m using that for as long as possible.

I was quite upset, wanted to cancel my account. However, I’ve made so many pals out here, that I just could not bear the thought of not blogging.

“Mmm, think I’ll ask Frog around the corner if he wants a puff!”

“No Thanks! I’m smokin’ Damsel Flies!”
