Great Performances

I heard of an interesting mural. When I got there, the building was torn down, & new construction underway.

I wandered lonely as a cloud, through high-rises and their lanes.

I turned into a parking lot, and found art performance fame.

High-rises, and the areas they are located in, are not prime street art venues.

Look how high up (about 18 stories) & huge this beauty is!

Did the best I could with my Iphone camera.

Two days later, and I’m still feeling the find.

The Artist is unknown to me, at this time.

This mural looks freshly done, so a plaque might be going up soon.

The Snail Lady

It’s a whole new appreciation for snails!

I would NEVER eat one.

Although they seem to make cute pets.

They are possibly good for your skin, but I haven’t googled that.

The Artist:

Eye had an epic failure trying to make a Snail Lady of my own.

Still, Eye got to try 3 new colours in a new brand of water colour pencils. What was Eye thinking? A Snail Lady with blue eyes?

Rhinos’ Playdate

This post is a loving tribute  to all Rhinos.

RHINOS

Gigi made Rhinos for Holly, Beth and Resa. Aren’t they beautiful? They each got to name their own Rhino.

They decided their Rhinos should meet for a playdate in a Flower Fairy Garden.

Of course, where there are flowers, there are butterflies. Hello, Butterfly Boa Lady here! Like me, the Rhinos will be adored by all butterflies.

 Runway belongs to Holly.

Rosy belongs to Resa.

Resa horned in with a little fun with Beth’s fun.

Roland belongs to Beth.

Resa scouted the garden, to make sure there were more than enough flowers for the Rhino’s, and that there would be plenty left for fairies and butterflies.

Resa photographed this beautiful Rhino & Waterbirds mural in 2014. It’s since been demolished, but if you click on the pic, you can visit the post

Thank you for for taking the time to enjoy our Rhinos Playdate Scrapbook!

Street art poetry: Collaboration by Resa and i

This is Charlie Zero’s & my second Street Art Poetry collaboration. We want it to become a movement. There will be a third!

charliezero1.wordpress.com's avatarCharlie Zero The Poet

Resa Mcconaghy and I collaborated on ‘street art poetry’.
Her interpretation of my words is an 80’s futurism vibe,
blending psychedelic trance & sci-fi spectrum kaleidoscope colors.

She is a rock star and a brilliant painter/artist/poet/ designer/
& photographer. Much praise to her incredible work and contribution
to the arts and community. 🙂

Without further ado here’s a poem and photography of amazing art.

Unzip the clock –
Inside
origins pulsate.
Every color hatches
a rotten piano.

The Flowers blend in with the art.
Resa, you captured this shot so well. I love it. 🙂

This photo shot is perfect!

All the colors and the words awake the enigma eye.

The hot pink, black, green, & white looks so hypnotizing and spectacular.

The eye is unzipping the clock.

The Monarch Butterfly observing and understanding the poem. 🙂

💫Arcilla y Fuego Stars Gala💫

Good evening! Sol & Drake here. We are your hosts, for the Arcilla y Fuego Stars Gala.

This Gala honours the Students of Belén Soto and their creations. So, without further adieu, let us present to you:

Paloma has lovingly created – Bathtub – The sense of humour found in this sweet piece is definitely an extension of the teacher, our mom in Spain.

This beautifully classic expression of Stone Dreams is the inspiration of the talented Iris. She must be part duck.

Fran has executed this very unique work of ceramic aptly titled Sucking Octopus. This artist definitely has their own special take! Of course, as ducks, we don’t find any Octopus in our lake.

Arm is a classic, realistic approach and is realized by Andrea. We especially love the texture achieved on this ceramic. It makes us think of feathers.

Vicky has given us much joy with this whimsical Chinese Dragon. The colours are uplifting, and just look at that adorable face! Of course, Lluvia is cuter.

Plates for Hors d’oeuvres is not only practical, but beautiful! We would be delighted to serve Hors d’oeuvres, or chocolates, on these plates that Francesca has crafted.

Of course Drake and I would have loved for Lluvia to be here with us tonight. However, she is still a very young duck. As we all know, ceramic ducks age very slowly.

Hehehe! Hey mom, letting you know all is well here in Toronto. I will be graduating from Chocolatier College before Christmas. Resa will post pics!

Jeep here, and I am totally exhausted from guiding Resa in making this post. Some of the ceramics were reblogs on Qe, some were on GLAM & one is new. Mostly, it’s those darn ducks tuckering me out!

I’ve waited years to catch them making a move, but they are very clever. They must only fly when I’m sleeping. Resa says if you click on the pic, you will go to Belén’s blog, where you can find all of these posts, and many more wonderful ceramics.

Revenge of the Egg

This is the 3rd time that the egg outside of the Art Store has been painted over.

The Egg is oval. However, when I used the Pano setting on my IPhone, it came out round. Go figure!

The top of the Egg was higher than me, and hard to capture. The Egg is about 6 feet tall. (1.83 M). The sun was high up, glaring upon the top of the Egg.

Still, an interesting challenge to capture it for us all.

This is a realistic side view of the Egg. Some may remember the first Egg I posted – Egg of Birdo

A car was blocking my ability to go all around the Egg, but the car was black & all clean and shiny. The next 4 reflections are lots of fun.

The Artist:

I’m partial to Eggs. I don’t eat them, but I do an interpretive dance called “The Egg Dance”.  It was performed last at The Chicklets’ Poetry Party in April. Click on the pice to enjoy an encore performance!
