Sun Face

Found this on a closed restaurant’s patio.

I adore the face.

It makes me think of the sun.

The rest of the mural….????

That does not look like authentic writing.

Here’s some writing, aka burners or lettering.

Says – In Sight

Says – Breathe

Says – Poser

Says – Putin Go Fuck Yourself, in Ukrainian

Says – Tensoe

What does below say? I’m not buying it!

    1. Love this face. The burners bother me. They seem insincere.
I love that sometimes I can read writing!
I can’t read Ukrainian 😉, but Sweetman told us what it says. Finally, getting somewhere!

        1. Eeeeeeee!!!!

    1. That’s just it, I can’t read it. Well, seeing as how it’s on a restaurant, it might be the name of the restaurant. Looks amateurish.
Hey, check out the chit chat between Marina and me. You’ll see where the wet sponges come from! xoxo

      1. That’s a gorgeous print Meece. Is there anything you can not do beautifully? NO!
Imagine a post on prints of the golden age movie star goddesses, wearing gowns you’ve chosen for them … just what you need… more projects. My imagination is running wild. xoxoxo

        1. Imagine away! Golden age movie goddesses is a great idea. Now that sounds fun to draw.
Gowns for the AGMs inspired by Gloria Swanson, Theda Bara, Claudette Colbert, Greata Garbo, Carole Lomabard (died in a plane crash at 33 years old!) There are many…perhaps a Mary Pickford!

    1. Agree on the Betty Boop!
The face is fab, but the writing seems fake.
Writing goes back to the 70’s, as far as I know. Maybe the 60’s in NYC subways.
If I hadn’t seen so many amazing burners in my street art experiences, I might not care.
So glad you are enjoying the face and the colours! 😘🥰

  1. Hello Resa, I too got Betty Boop vibes from this portrait – it’s those eyes and mouth that do it. Regards the text, not sure what that says but I regularly see artwork like it on the railway wagons that pass through my town carrying fuel pellets to a local power station. The wagons make for very large “canvasses”!

  2. I love her beautiful face, Resa, though she looks a little wistful to me. And I have no idea what the scribble says. I imagine there’s a message in there somewhere. Did you ever pique my curiosity! And thanks for deciphering the other murals. I’m all for the Ukrainian one!

  3. I’m trying to figure out the expression on her face… Sad, thoughtful, or simply trying to figure out how to be the amazing sun every day? Hard to say… but beautiful nonetheless xx

    1. Thank you for pointing that out Trent!
It’s my bad. My philosophy is not to be too, opinionated, let people make up their own minds.
I should have taken decent pics of the writing, like it or not. It’s only fair.
I went against myself. Won’t do it again!

      1. It wasn’t really a complaint, so no worries 🙂 I can’t say how many times I look at photos I have taken and realize that I forgot to get some of the important ones – we see things different in the moment than in hindsight.

    1. Yeah, it looks cool.
      Does it matter, no.
I’ve built up preferences over the years, but I still post art that does not speak to me personally. It speaks to someone.

  4. She is a beautiful, yet sad face. Must be all that stuff around her that has her wishing she was elsewhere.
I’ll add my sponges to help! 🧽🧽🧽🧽🧽🛁🛁🛁🛁

    1. There is a melancholy, for sure.
Thanks for the sponges! I need all the help I can get! 🧽🧽⚡️💥🧽🧽
OMG I found a huge pod of street art today. I’ve got to go back on a cloudy day!

Speak your art mind!
