The Hera Box

I know not all dog art I find is Hera, but I think it is!

Hera is Marina’s sweet girl.

Working our way around the box!

The sun glared on the body of the orange legs guy side. So, I present it 2 pieces, the blob corners the top.

I’m bats for the bat!

Back to the beginning!

BONUS BOX PERFORMANCE

Spiderman has been performing in the streets of Toronto for about 10 years.

I was lucky enough to catch him atop a painted box!

Only 10 seconds!

    1. You are so welcome Resa. I would never have guessed you were around before modern day computers. Everyone looks so young now. Well you are amazing and so gifted. I think you should check out the HipHop exhibition as I bet you would love it. It also may encourage a cool design or two as well. Sending you blessings and keep using all that wonderful talent but at your pace and with those who obviously love you. It is so nice to have community who care about each other. Love Joni ❤️❤️❤️

      1. You know, Joni, you look young too!
So I guess our love of the arts is a good pill for the spirit.
Thank you for your lovely words! I return them to you!
        Take care! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

              1. Joni,
I might be in your SPAM folder! Sorry to bother you. I just followed your blog(which I thought I was already following) read a poem, and commented.
The comment is not there, and there is no “waiting to be moderated message”.
                Could you please check?
Being in a Spam folder can cause a Spam ripple effect!
                Thank you! XX

  1. Woohoooooooooo…. woooof wooof!!!!!!!!

Aunt Resa, this is me running in my new garden. Open that box and I’ll jump out, so get ready for hug-kiss attack!

    1. Thanks Frank! It’s kinda crazy, but I’m always on the look out for Hera art.
First day it warms up to 0c, I’m out on an art hunt!
      Clink!

    1. You are so welcome, Ada! It really is a striking piece out on a busy grey cement street.
Where would we be without all of the arts? 🌹💖

    1. Yes, it’s so striking against the grey cement. Night? It’s right at a traffic light intersection, under a street light, with many other other lights around. I’ll bet it pops at night.
I can hardly wait for the temp to warm up to 0c. I’m sure there’s new art out there.
      💙🎨

            1. I read it, and checked out Marguerite Blasingame. How unique! I can see why you like her art. I like it, too.
Yes, we have heat, but still need a further repair. Thank you for asking!
Lol, during the siege, Misha’s room was always kept warmer than our room.
Misha is coming a long nicely… sort of settling in. I can pet her now, but she doesn’t purr, yet.
I bought her a pot of cat grass. She was afraid of it, and hid in her cave for a few hours after. Now she ignores it.
She loves her house, (my den) and hides if I leave the door open.
Anyway, we are developing a relationship.

              💙🐈‍⬛💙

I’m into the second part (chapter)of the book!

  3. I was getting cocky. I commented on three different posts and my comment was not rejected. Here? Nope. Guess I’ll go back to copying my comment before hitting comment!

    Sorceress!

That is most definitely a Hera box! What a great find and how beautiful are those colours popping against the black.. LOVE.

And that was a great Spidey addition, to boot.

    1. Uch… when the WP gremlins come out with a new illness, it spreads like wildfire.
Yes, I must remember! Copy the comment!

      Thunder!

It is a fab find. I LOVE it, too.
Hey, if you find any street art …heck- any art – on the ship or in any ol’ port in a storm, get pics!

How cool is that? Ship art. There’s gotta be art on ships?

      xoxoxo🎨🛳🎨🚢🎨xoxoxo

      1. They are annoying AF!

It is a fab find, indeed.
I can guarantee there is art on the ship. And any art I might find at any of the islands, you can be sure I shall do my best!

  4. Snakes and bats and puppy dogs; blobs and reclining men. I see them on the blogs, but what’s it all about then? Oh well, I guess Spiderman is something I can understand…

    1. Thanks Trent!

      Yes… I see….. Not!
It’s like the first line to a Burt Bacharach song that Dionne sang.

🎵Snakes and bats and dogs; They are blobs for reclining men, or someone else, but not for me. Those Snakes and bats and dogs, they bite away, but don’t bite me.🎵

      Okay, just a bit’o’fun.

And Spidey, yes, an understandable bonus!
      (Welcome back!)

      1. My half rhyming line was the start to the song. Let’s see, a little editing:

🎵Snakes and bats and also dogs; They are blobs for reclining men, who sail the wine-dark sea. Those Snakes and also bats and dogs, they may snap away, but won’t bite me.🎵
lol, maybe I should set it to music!
Thanks. It was a fun get away but good to be back.

That’s great box art. I like how the colors transition and all the different critters. Definitely Hera’s box.

    1. Agree! Hera’s box.
The colours are fab, especially against the cold grey cement.
Oh, I can hardly wait for the temps to warm up to 0C. I’ll be back in the alleys. (provided they are not iced over) xx

    1. You are welcome, Aladin!
      Art is so much fun.
“Shadows full of life” ….. I like that. Those words strike me as hope in a dark time.
      Thank you!
      💐🌟💖🌹

    1. Thanks Dan!
Sometimes I think street art (and all art) is what keeps me going and happy!
Torontonians love their street art, and our Art Gallery of Ontario is world class.
      I feel so lucky!

  6. A fabulous mural, Resa! You always find treasures. Your Spider-Man video is amazing. I am glad that you referred the Marina’s beautiful four-legged friend, Hera. Here is the perfect name for her! She is a goddess, embodying strength and resilience.

  7. Oh, WP is being a pain today! I’m trying another comment.

What I said before, sorta: Wonderfully bright Hera box, Resa. I saw a lot of painted boxes in Vancouver and Victoria. It was delightful to see all those bits of art everywhere. And great pic of Spidey! Lol. What a catch!

    1. Seems the WP gremlins are spreading a communicable disease.
I’ve been copying comments for days now. AS soon as I forget to, “Sorry your comment could not be posted”
I have found I need to check and see if the annotator is in the upper right. If not, I refresh. Then it usually is good to go.

Sometimes it says I’m not logged in, but I am. I correct that by hitting the 3 dots … where it says I’m not logged in. Then it logs me in with a “continue” Under my Gravatar.

      UCH!

Anyway, yes, paint the boxes. I found this one particularly attractive.

Yeah, Spidey was a nice catch!

  8. Wow! I absolutely love the street art. Hera is gorgeous. Love the colors and the delicate touch. Just beautiful and we need Spiderman right now. Send him our way, please…wonderful post, Resa.

    1. Thanks Gi!
Yeah, Spidey is pretty cool, but he’s a slippery one. I’ll have to find him again.
I hope you liked the vid I sent in the email last night.
That man, Mark Carney, gives me hope!

    1. Thanks Shey,
      It’s a gorgeous painting.
I love it out there, looking for art. As soon as it warms up to 0C…I’m back out! xxxx

  9. Hi Resa, I wish mu local council would approve such art as this to be painted onto the Utility/Services boxes in my town – ours are just plain gloss green or battleship grey in colour…and some just plain unpainted steel!
And it’s good to see Spidey still out on the streets, he is my fave superhero web-swinger!
Great art and photos as always, thanks.

    1. Welcome Tyeth,

Yes, it’s too bad they don’t let the boxes get painted. Like life isn’t grey enough.
Yeah, the Spidey guy is quite cool. What a find that lucky day.

  10. Hi Resa!! Love the colors of the artsy box! And what a fun bonus of catching Spidey in action. Thanks for brightening up my Friday morning, have a splendid weekend!

So cool! What you see as a bat I saw as a moth. 🙂 And to me, the “blob” looks like the open face of the carnivorous leaf of a Venus’ flytrap. (But don’t submit that to any Rorschach experts, please! 😉 )

  12. These are wonderful, Resa — so colorful, happy, and vibrant. Hera is also the name of my “imaginary dog.” Living alone there have been a few times, having to deal with people I didn’t trust, I’ve pretended a large dog was inside. LOL, she has an entire backstory, including why she doesn’t bark. Nowadays bad people are more afraid of a dog than a gun. Have a lovely new week. Hugs.

  13. I will try again, WordPress would not take my first comment. I loved the Hera box and consider street art to be something amazing. To take a canvas, any size or even an entire side of a building, and create something splendid just blows me away. I loved seeing Spider-Man as well, and can only imagine what a treat for kids because I was shocked when I watched the video. So many artists in the world making amazing creations or visions, like yourself, Resa. Thank you so much for sharing.

    1. You are welcome Joni!
Thank you so much for your visit and comment!
Uch..the WP comments thing is annoying these days.

Okay, one thing to watch for when you are on a blog is the green “Subscribed” button on the bottom right. If it is not there, OR if you are a subscriber, but it is not green. refresh the page!
It should then appear, or turn green. Then you can comment without rejection.

Anyway, yes ART… art anywhere & everywhere is saving me!

Street art started it for me, and that’s how this blog came to exist. Of course now I have branched into all art, and the Arts in general.

The kids love our Toronto Street Spiderman. Heck, I adore him.

Thank you so much! You’re fabulous!

      1. Thank you for the useful tip on WordPress. I loved this post. You truly are branching out in the arts. It is wonderful. You have amazing talent and I love how you use it. We have three grandchildren and they love Spider-Man. I am a big fan of your work, there is always so much to see in your post you can’t rush through them or you are truly missing out. Going into Holly or Tim’s site, same thing. If you go back over it or share it, which I had to stop and grab my husband and shared your post which he to really enjoyed. Thank you again and many blessings. You young artist have so much time and your already so talented I can’t help but wonder what I would be doing now if a community and source to reach out on a computer was a possibility. So keep on for all of us who wrote on paper (no computers around then) sent it in – I was so young and isolated I would go to the mailbox in my white cotton panties with my poem to be mailed to a publisher! I still can see that very young child today and the hope of being a writer. You are fabulous and multitalented. Bless your heart. Hugs, and blessings always. ❤️

        1. Dear Joni,

Thank you for this wonderful comment!
Still, I’m not that young, but the arts have kept me young at heart.

I was around before computers, and I still love the library.
Although the computer was here when I started my main career journey.

I love that you had the idea that you wanted to be a writer at a young age. I didn’t know what I wanted, was aimless, but when I began meeting writers and artists direction set in.

I think with the arts we keep learning, enjoying, discovering, loving and living.

You now have me thinking I will check out the HipHop artists’ exhibition at the Art Gallery next time I go. Open mindedness is important.

Again, thank you for this fabulous comment! 💖🌹

  14. That is definitely the shadow shape of Hera 🙂 lovely find and what a delightful way to paint and decorate those eyesore boxes
Thank you for sharing Resa…. A delight xx 💖💛💖

    1. Agree, a delight!
Why have grey or drab boxes, when painted boxes brighten up the streets?
      I love finding street art.
Welcome, and thanks for visiting Sue!

      1. Always my pleasure, as you know I took some time away recently… Good to be back here among the colour you bring us from around your neighbourhood…
Much love to you Resa xx ❤
