Many young people disdain, or are afraid of the old.
I was surprised to find 2, let alone 1 piece by 2 young female artists. The work on the garage is from a #Women Paint TO alley.
The one on the truss is from Underpass Park.
2nd side of the truss.
On the side of the truss.

FANTASTIC!
It is pretty great!
Great way of dealing with an the underside of an overpass.
Toronto is doing this to many underpasses. This one is called Underpass Park. It’s huge. Everything is painted.
There 2 mini basket ball courts, a skate board area with ramps, a kids playground with swings, monkey bars, slides, etc,, rubber flooring and more. It’s always packed. The art by the kids’ area is geared to the kids.
Love them!
That’s because you are Thunder, and will never be old!
You! xoxo
Beautiful artistry, Resa; two talented females indeed. 🙂
Secretly, though, I’m awfully pleased that won’t be me! 😊
xoxoxo
Understood! 😀 😀 xoxoxo
Beautiful works!
Agree!
I adore that type of art. Wish there was more around my city. Great post and amazing pictures.

I agree, wherever your city is. Thank you! _Resa
Wow! I like the location choice in particular. An awesome combination!

Thank you for the insight, Resa. It is a great idea to use the space this way.
Capturing old fits. The first one is colorful, but ominous for me. The truss one is brilliantly clever and funny.
Well, at least one is funny! Looking forward to the concert this weekend! I missed it last week, but the birthday party was a lot of fun.
Wow! These are really great.
It’s very interesting work, for sure!
I absolutely LOVE it. Gorgeous.
It’s quite different, and I love it, too!

Thank you!
Most welcome!
Oh wow, I did a double take on this one. This is something very extraordinary, not art we see all the time. I love the idea and message behind it. Beautiful Resa! ❤ ❤
It is very unusual work… to see images of old people done by young people, in a young peoples forum. Just shows there is the understanding that we age, and a respect for the reality.
Holly, I appreciate that you not only get it, but see the beauty in it! ❤ ❤
It is not surprising, it seems a lot of our young are more on board and hip to the situation than the rest of us. Love the post Resa. ❤ ❤
Interesting! ❤
♥️And a bit sad that our young people have to spread the love that’s missing.
It’s the 60’s all over, in a new way!
Exactly, we’ll said. That’s it!
Three wise men! Those eyes are beautiful.
I agree! So glad you like them! 😀
The two artists are very talented and made a good subject matter choice. The face on the truss section is excellent, like a jigsaw puzzle piece. Thanks for sharing X
Ah… like a jigsaw puzzle… great take! I like the choice, too. It is unusual for street art, which goes to show that , like everything, change is inevitable. X
Oh gosh these artists are amazing – look at that detail! Beautiful examples of female achievements. Sharing over on the WWI Facebook page now. More people have to see this!
Cool! Thanks for sharing! With all the ageism going on, (I have been privy), this comes as a sobering reminder. Thank you to the girls who have taken age by its horns, and beauty!
Brilliant! Ah, the idea of aging gracefully in indeed a interesting conversation. I am delighted that the murals were created by young women, who used their creative spirit to envision the aging process. There are many who are looking closely at this question, specifically on how this demographic will influence society and quality of life. I checked out Stats Canada – “Seniors could represent between 23% and 25% of the total population in 2036. On July 1, 2010, Canada’s senior population stood at 4.8 Million. Of this total, 1.3 million individuals were aged 80 and older, while 6,500 individual were aged 100 and older.” It will be interesting to see how aging will unfold. I believe artists have always been in the forefront of change and transition. This mural is a testament to my belief. Always a joy to stop by…
I think you are right, Rebecca. Artists are in the forefront of change.
The stats you uncovered are sobering. Not sure if I want to live to 100. LOL, if I do, I’ll need to get a job in my late 80’s.
Ah, however, I can be an artist to the end. I bet there is no stat for that.
You are wonderful! TY, Resa x
May we all be artists to the end. A wonderful thought.
The details in these muirals is amazng. The aged skin actually looks leathery.
Agree! Art well done!
Fantastic art by Lacey and Layla, and your photos celebrating the beautiful art are wonderful, Resa. There’s something especially engaging about the underpass mural. I realized it’s the most glorious underpass I’ve ever seen.
Loved the artwork here.. Yes, Growing Old, the best is yet to come.. Love it.. Especially like how they did the glasses, not always easy to achieve, I know I have tried.. BUT not on that scale. lol 🙂
Incredible details on these murals, Resa. The surface is difficult to work on yet they have created masterpieces. I can’t imagine how long it must have taken. Fabulous 😊
Isadora 😎
Amazing artwork. Love these. 😍
Love the artwork ❤️
Amazing! Lets age like a Chorizo in the sun. LoL Michael
LOL!!!!
:-))
Hid them ole ones under the overpass 😉 Great works anyway.
Wow! 🙂
What a fantastic idea! In fact, a brilliant idea. Thank you for following BrewNSpew.
