I was surprised to find 2, let alone 1 piece by 2 young female artists. The work on the garage is from a #Women Paint TO alley.

Great way of dealing with an the underside of an overpass.
Toronto is doing this to many underpasses. This one is called Underpass Park. It’s huge. Everything is painted.
There 2 mini basket ball courts, a skate board area with ramps, a kids playground with swings, monkey bars, slides, etc,, rubber flooring and more. It’s always packed. The art by the kids’ area is geared to the kids.
Love them!

Capturing old fits. The first one is colorful, but ominous for me. The truss one is brilliantly clever and funny.
Well, at least one is funny! Looking forward to the concert this weekend! I missed it last week, but the birthday party was a lot of fun.

It is very unusual work… to see images of old people done by young people, in a young peoples forum. Just shows there is the understanding that we age, and a respect for the reality.

Brilliant! Ah, the idea of aging gracefully in indeed a interesting conversation. I am delighted that the murals were created by young women, who used their creative spirit to envision the aging process. There are many who are looking closely at this question, specifically on how this demographic will influence society and quality of life. I checked out Stats Canada – “Seniors could represent between 23% and 25% of the total population in 2036. On July 1, 2010, Canada’s senior population stood at 4.8 Million. Of this total, 1.3 million individuals were aged 80 and older, while 6,500 individual were aged 100 and older.” It will be interesting to see how aging will unfold. I believe artists have always been in the forefront of change and transition. This mural is a testament to my belief. Always a joy to stop by…

The stats you uncovered are sobering. Not sure if I want to live to 100. LOL, if I do, I’ll need to get a job in my late 80’s.

Loved the artwork here.. Yes, Growing Old, the best is yet to come.. Love it.. Especially like how they did the glasses, not always easy to achieve, I know I have tried.. BUT not on that scale. lol 🙂
