It’s just a small piece in an alley, and I love it!
He lives midst bits and burners.
The burner (writing) to the right of the lion is by Insight. The face on the far right is an Elicsr.

Unsigned, but a guess would be Nick Sweetman
Honestly, I always thought the name of this song was “Lion Eyes”. I’ve used it on a post before, and I was sure it was “Lion Eyes”. Guess I hear and see what I want to.
You are as bad as I am about hearing words wrong in songs. I like “Lion Eyes” and I love the mural. The Turquoise Lion can’t hid his Lion eyes. He is so beautiful.
He is gorgeous. Thanks Tim!
So glad I’m not alone in hearing the wrong words in songs! It only took me a few decades to realize this one. Lol!!!
The Turquoise Lion is stunning, but I’m hearing him roar, “Get me outta this alley!”
Ahh, that’s what he’s mad about! Lol!
Yeah, he’s great. Thanks Liz!
You’re welcome, Resa!
😘
Terrific photography, Resa. I had to laugh out loud at the Lion Eyes statement. I like your title better. The Turquoise Lion is beautiful. Thanks for sharing. 🐂OX🐂OX🐂OX🐂OX💋
Well, at least you laughed!
Honestly, I like Lion Eyes, too. Someone should write that song.
He’ is a beauty.
💋🐂OX🐂OX🐂OX🐂OX💋
Someone should write that song.💋🐂OX🐂OX🐂OX🐂OX💋💋🌹
Yes, and I’m changing it up!

Hmmmm Not too sure. First stanza.
Quit lookin’ at me with those lion eyes,
I told you once before that what I am.
Is somethin’ I know you’ll sure despise,
Deep in my heart beats the sole of a lamb.
OXOXOXOX 🎸
Beautiful, John! Wish I knew how to make melodies. I’m hearing something a bit country/rock.
Did you use the tune “Lying Eyes”? Or did you use your poet’s soul sans music?
OX OX OX OX 💋
Poets soul for sure. Don’t have melodies. How about your guitar player? OXOXOXOX
Ah, my guitar player is busy scoring a film and writing his own songs with real singers.
Just for fun, check your email… I did a bit of singing. LOL!!!
🎼🐂🎼🐂🎼🐂🎼🐂
I’ll go there now. I’m sure it is a million seller.
Hahahaha!!!!!
Okay maybe a $10.00 seller.
Love him too, Resa! Your comment about Lion Eyes vs. Lyin’ Eyes reminds me of reading lists of most misunderstood lyrics. There are a number of them but I always enjoyed “Hold e closer, Tony Danza.” 🙂
Hahaha! Yeah, The Tony Danza one is hilarious.
Can you get this one – “One tone of metal, deliver one of metal, one tone of me-e-e-tal?
Yup. Guantanamera. 😁
YES!!! You’re good! 😁
😁
Reblogged this on https:/BOOKS.ESLARN-NET.DE.
Beautiful, and so wonderful photographed. Thanks, Resa! Best wishes, Michael
The lion is a fantastic piece of art, Resa, worthy of being scrutinized with an “Eagle” eye. 🙂
Hahaha! Thanks Dave!
It’s a wonderful world of art in the alleys. 🦅
“It’s a wonderful world of art in the alleys” — love that line!
Thanks Dave! I love the alleys. Looks like it will be awhile ’tilI can get back out there…you know SNOW, uch. -8C today. Still, I have lots of pics, but I use all the best ones first.
Ugh — not great walking and photographing weather. 😦
True words.
Still I won’t wish it was past, or wish spring was here.
That would be like wishing my life away.
Gotta stay in the sunshine in creativity.
Oh, he is absolutely gorgeous, Sorceress! And I love the misheard lyrics. I think it’s perfect!!
He’s so good looking he could be my boyfriend.
It really should be Lion Eyes, or someone should write that song!!! xoxo ⚡️💥
No kidding! And if you don’t want him, I will 😉
And yes, it should be Lion Eyes. xo 🧚♀️🌟
Woo Hoo! xoxo
xoxo
‘He lives midst bits and burners.’ And he’s still a king. What a fabulous mural. xxxxxxxx for sharing it
Thanks Shey!
I adore this beauty.
The band has been playing under my bed.
Drawing you, Gi and Dale in a cage in Otherworld. Should take a bunch of nights!
Effigy Shey, dangling the Puppet DracGoth and Etagloc, and Rupert Valentino are all in it.
I think there’s a door in the lion’s mouth! Cool!
Jan, he’s a very cool lion. Hmm, could be a mint green!
Hello Resa, a very unique colour for the king of the jungle but I guess it’s in keeping with you cool cats! Though I have to say regarding mis-heard lyrics I have to mention Wimoweh or “The Lion Sleeps Tonight” by The Tokens. Believe it or not I had to sing that tune a few times when I was a stage performer – and I had to hit the high notes! Another great share, thanks as always.
Hello Tyeth,
I had thought of using “The Lion Sleeps Tonight” , but I changed my mind at the last minute. It’s a great song. Do you still sing at all? You’re welcome!
Hi Resa, my public performances have sort of ended as there aren’t many bars left with Karaoke equipment in any more but I have been known to sing a few Dire Straits, Wet Wet Wet and The Lighthouse Family penned songs at family functions. I don’t sing “The Lion Sleeps Tonight” anymore as my voice just can’t get to that falsetto now…I’m too old!
small yet mighty lion.
roar! Adore him.
me too!
I love the way in which the artist managed to convey emotion and expression of the lion; it can be imagined as so many different things and perceived as both startled and ready to roar.
Agree with your thought, Oloriel.
Whatever, I think he has something to say.
Wow. Love the lion and especially his color. What great artwork.
IKR! I love this.

He’s beautiful, Resa. I love how you’re getting to know the artists now by their work. That’s fun. And a great song. “Lion Eyes” – That made me giggle but I can definitely hear it!
Diana,
It’s true. I do recognize who painted what in many cases. I’ve met a fair few, while they are painting, during my sojourns in the alleys.
I think I’ll always hear “Lion Eyes”. I believe someone should write a song called “Lion Eyes”.
I still have a bunch of people to visit from “Necromancer’s Daughter” post. I answered all the questions, and visited many, but need to go back and mop up.
That was wild! xx
I know! It was wild. I can’t believe the number of comments. Phew. But that’s because you pull together a beautiful post and you engage with all your visitors. It makes a big difference. I had a great time!
Phew is right! I had a great time too, Diana.
I love engaging with visitors. I know you do too. It seems that is part of the joy of blogging.
xx
That’s the part I enjoy… the friendships and laughs.
For sure!
I am with you on the Lion’s Eyes, Resa. There is so much emotional nuance in this mural. Love the surrounding yellow. Seems like a halo.
I agree. Great artists will paint the alleys with bits and pieces.
Then get a commission for a mural.
Free advertising pays off. hugs
It does indeed!!! Hugs coming back!
Lion Eyes, Lyin’ Eyes…regardless of the spelling it’s all good, Resa. A lovely mural and song both.
Thanks, Bruce! Yeah…spelling schmelling!
This is so beautiful Resa. Ferocious and wonderful. I adore the Lyin Eyes and the Eagle, a perfect combination here!
xoxoxo
It’s a small sweet piece of art!
Music!!!!
The guys are taking a break. They’re great tonight. Helter Skelter, Born to be Wild, Superstition, Going Down, some early Stones… they played Get Off A My Cloud…
Okay… heading back to draw! xoxoxo
🛼🦁👗
👍👍👍
👍🦁👀👍
Cool mondegreen! “Lion eyes” is better – they should change their lyrics.
✨🦋💭🐇🗝🌱🌅☀⚖☺🤍✨
Agree!!!
Of course Lying Eyes only went to #2 on the charts. Lol! ✨🦋✨🦋✨🦋
That lion is beautiful, but he looks unhappy–maybe as Liz said stuck in the alley. I like his golden eyes, too. Our white cat had one yellow eye and one blue eye. 😢
“Lion eyes” made me smile. When we were first married, my husband and I listened to a morning radio show and every so often, they’d have a “misconstrued lyrics” show.
Maybe it’s because he’s stuck in the alley, or maybe it’s an artist statement about the plight of our planet’s animals.
Aww, you miss your white cat with one yellow eye…and one blue eye. That is extreme rare, I would think. I understand.I miss all my cats.
I bet lots of people heard Lion Eyes. What a great song or poem Lion Eyes would make.
Sounds like a fun radio show!
You’re very welcome, Resa. Thank you for sharing the lion!
You are welcome!
Resa, thank you for sharing this terrific mural. The lion is amazing, full of emotion and I feel a deep sadness. It is amazing that this is created on a wall and across two doors! A very gifted artist!
Yes, now that you mention it…across 2 doors. Many gifted artists paint in the alleys.
In my mind the lion is saying, “stop killing me and all my wild animal friends”.
Seems the only place our animals are safe are in refuges. Still, even then they are not safe. Just ask Cecil, the lion!
A ha ha…. I’m with you! I hear Lion Eyes too! …and I can’t unhear it now! 🤣😂
That turquoise Lion is gorgeous, dahling and I love the expression too!
Great find!!!!

Oh dear! I hope by the time this reaches you, you have unheard Lion Eyes! Oops! I shouldn’t remind you. 😳
The lion is a beauty. I fell in love.

Love Him… He has character and strength.. Great choice of Music too.. 🙂
Agree! He’s a beauty. The Eagles were stars in their day. xx
👍💕
The King of the concrete jungle! I love this, as I do all of your finds. This Lion could have been any color, but the turquoise leans into that urban mythos whilst retaining all the majesty of these magical creatures.
Brava!
OMG! I’m so late here! I confess I’ve been drawing and sewing and trying to stay awake during our gloomy winter daze.
Thank you Marc!
Muah!
Agree! Thank you, Chris!
It’s awesome
Hi Resa, the eyes are outstanding. The artist caught the colour and fierceness of a lion’s eyes exactly. A fabulous piece of art.
I adore this lion. Agree, the artist did a great job on the eyes. If anyone knows, you should. You’ve seen more lions than most of us here on WP.
(Sent mail)
Thanks, Resa, I have seen a lot of lions. I’ll look for the email 💗
💗
He is stunning, Resa, and your song choice is perfect! I can see the emotion in his eyes. xoxo
xxoo
Poor lions, and other wild beasts. They have a lot to worry about!
😞💗
Excellent! and perfectly positioned, like a phantom lion coming out of the door!
Agree! Love this. A small bit, but powerful. xx
Fabulous piece
Agree!!!
