You do a fab job documenting the murals. When I get some time I’ll have to search through my archives for some local murals. Here’s a few in blog posts: This one is an RIP: https://photoofthedayetc.wordpress.com/2013/12/20/toasted-and-smoked/. I think some of these might have been repainted: https://photoofthedayetc.wordpress.com/2014/01/26/jumbotex/. The alley murals around the corner from LaBeouf’s protest in Downtown Albuquerque a few years ago went well with the protest: https://photos.tandlphotos.com/blog/2017/2/labeouf-the-back-side-of-route-66

    1. Yes, Gi.. sooo Fab! I went to Graffiti Alley today, thinking of showing all how thick and gorgeous it is….well, this piece was an artus interuptus. It’s fab on it’s own. A definite highlight!
I’ll do the graf alley post next.

  3. So Smokin hot! What a cool chick with those groovy sunglasses and her own blue Arrdvark! This is an all time great. Love this artist imagination! Or does she and her blue aardvark rock just behind those walls! ♥️

Hi, I think of JARUS SENAR, a graffiti artist (born 1992) is from Toronto. But actually, he is known for his large-scale, realistic artwork.
The awesome Geisha seems not to fit into his portfolio because of the different style…
On the other hand, the signature could refer to “Senar”…

    1. I’m not sure what to think. I’ve photographed a lot of Jarus’ work. Many of his works are large scale. Every once in awhile, I find a small piece. All are signed Jarus or Young Jarus or his name with the co-artist’s name.
He goes by Emmanuel Jarus. https://www.instagram.com/youngjarus/ You’re right, this is not the style I’ve grown accustomed to. However, it could be another artist named Jarus, or He could have been just helping an artist friend, whose art this is. The top name could be the lead artist, or the first name of this …new Jarus. The signature is also a different style than I’m used to. So, if this shows up on his instagram page, that’s the answer. If not, it’s still a mystery. I bump into artists in the alleys quite often. Sometimes they have answers for me!

Hi, Yes, I`ve has the same idea that this masterpiece might be a result of a cooperation with another Artist. Jarus (sorry for the typo) did this several times before but his personal style could be always recognized. Mmmmh, the nebulous origin makes the Geisha even more interesting. Thank you for sharing.

    1. How is that possible? Red and blue are both primaries. I think he should be purple. Hahaha, just kidding. It’s the artist’s choice. 😜🙃🤪🧐💓xoxoxo

    1. Hmm, probably is suspicious, due to the red smoke! 😀 However, on Oct. 17, this year, pot for recreational use is legal in Canada. There you go, bring on the tax $$$$$$!

This is a cool piece! What is that creature on her shoulder? Maybe like Holly says it’s an aardvark. I don’t know whether to laugh or be terrified of it. xo

Lol that’s a good one. I might try to use that in conversation, though I will cite you, of course. Just got back from a short holiday, so I’m catching up on all these comments. xoxoxo

    Hi Resa,

Young Jarus told me today that it is not his work.
It`s a piece of street art from Cash Akoza, who is from Winnipeg.

    Cheers!
