Twas the Night Before Chickmas

BY Georgiann Carlson

It’s lots of fun celebrating CHICKMAS at The Coop! Gigi has made this in 3 posts, so here I have put them all together. Thank you Gigi! Adore you!

Twas’ the night before Chickmas

Twas’ the night before Chickmas
and all through The Coop
the chicklets were playing
with their hula hoops

The stockings were hung by the chimney with care
in hopes that St. Chicklaus soon would be there

the chicklets were sleeping
all snug in their beds
while visions of corn bread
danced fast in their heads

the hens in their kerchiefs
the roosters in caps
didn’t have time
for a long
winter’s nap

when out on the lawn
there arose such a clatter
they ran to the window
to see what was the matter

and what to their wondering eyes
did appear
but a miniature sleigh
and one tiny reindeer

as they drew in their heads
they heard a new sound
and there was St. Chicklaus
when they turned around

There were gifts for the chicklets
the hens and the cats
the dogs and the roosters
the horses and bats
the cows and the goats
the birds and the ducks
even the pigs and the squirrels were in luck
all were included
it’s always that way
so everyone there
had the very best day

Blurb:

This book is a collection of stories about some of Kaye’s first-time experiences with life’s most natural events. Told through the intimate conversational writing we’ve come to know from this author, poignant personal steppingstones to learning moments are revealed. She encompasses the heart of each matter with sincerity and sprinkled inflections of humor.

From first kiss to first car to walking in the desert with four-inch heels, Kaye’s short coming-of-age stories take us through her awakenings and important moments of growth, often without warning. Some good and some not, life lessonsarelearned through trial and error, winging it, and navigating by the seat of her pants.

I Waited 10 Years!

On my first visit to Graffiti Alley, this beauty was one of the first works of art I laid eyes on.

As you can see, she was in a frost fence prison. Not only is the fence 6′ high, there is a locked gate keeping all out.

This is the main reason she has lasted 10 years, without being tagged.

I always check when I go to the alley. For 10 years the gate has been locked. I never tried climbing the fence. There’s always people behind a big glass window.

On my latest trip to Graffiti Alley, there was something going on in the alley, like some kind of surveying.

THE GATE WAS OPEN! To allow the surveyors room to do their thing.

I could see people behind the window, but this was my big break! I entered and shot like a maniac, fast, furious then fled.

I could feel the eyes upon me. I never shot so fast in my graffiti daze.

It’s a Dog’s Life

Good ARFternoon! As a monocle wearing dog, I look much smarter than other dogs.

However, looks and brains  aren’t everything. Heart is also most important.

So, my pals & I are here to tell you about three people and 53 shelter dogs that survived a plane crash.

We found this important information on John Howell’s Good News Friday Post

No dogs jump over the moon, in the post.

SPOILER ALERT

However. you will be over the moon when you read how some of the dogs got adopted by their rescuers.

Thank you for the Good News, John!

I feel like pawing out cigars to celebrate, but I can’t seem to get off the fence about the whole smoking thing. I assure you, I don’t inhale!
