Last year, at this time, I hosted Kids’ Month.

When Sherrie & I found this mural at a Community Center in Winnipeg, I knew there would be a second Kids’ Month.

What I love about this mural is that kids helped to paint it.

Take a sec to blow up the pic below, & really see the complete mural.

This year Kids’ Month will be more inclusive than just street art.

There will be poetry in combo with street art & original artwork by fellow bloggers. I’ve got some educational posts planned, in conjunction with street art.

I’ll be reblogging some reviews of Kids’ books & a special reblog about Puffins.

Today I bought a picture book for Michele Eastman’s “Picture Book Pass It On” drive.

I’ll be sending it through ground mail. It will be a small investment, that I believe will do a big good.

This is going to be one fun month!

THE FUTURE BELONGS TO CHILDREN
Michele Eastman holds a “Picture Book Pass It On” drive every year. Click on the logo to go to her blog’s article explaining the charity, and where you can find the address to mail your picture book donation. OR: Click on her name and go to her FaceBook page, where she is also working on the campaign.
Here is the book I bought!
All Charities are not Created Equal! It’s easy enough to research & find the good guys. Here are a few I respect, after doing some research.
Canadian Big Brothers and Sisters scored 4 stars or an “A” rating from various groups.
President Obama & First Lady Michelle Obama launched Let Girls Learn.
A society free from sexual and other forms of exploitation against children and women. Anuradha Koirala, founder of Maiti Nepal was a CNN Hero in 2011. A visit to the site is only for the strong of heart.
Helps more than children, but they help a lot of children They have 4 star ratings, and one website gave World Vision Canada a “B”
How very joyful, Resa; the colours are so excitingly youthful…
Yes, I agree; this month on Graffiti Lux and Murals will certainly be one fun month! 🙂
xoxoxo
It is amazing how much street art I find that is for kids and young people. Might as well make a month out of it! xoxoxo 😀
Nice collection. Let me get this straight … you have declare March as Kid’s Month … correct? … Just asking so I get something together.
Yeah, March is about kids’ on my blog. It would be great if you had something up your sleeve that I cold reblog or link to!
Will keep you posted. 🙂
Yay!!!
What a perfect Kick-off, Resa. I love the artwork and the fact that children did it. Loved the book recommendations at the end. Fabulous beginning. Way to go… ❤
Thanks, Gigi! 😀 I’ve got Chicklets “Friends” ready to go next!
I’m just figuring what to about the charities. Think I’ll move them to the side bar & then just put 1 after each post.
I will put the books charity after your Chicklets & Pigeon post! ❤
Lovely start to your Kids’ Month dear friend. I also love your earmuffs, probably there for you to ignore my incessant commenting chatter. 😱
Take care. L&H. Ralph xoxox ❤
Actually, your chatter is just fine. I’m using the earmuffs to hold my brain intact.
Glad you like my roll out for Kids’ Month! Means a lot to me! xoxo ❤ ❤
Oh no ! You can borrow my screwdriver if you have a screw loose my friend, but I am sure that the earmuffs are sufficient. They look great on you anyway. xoxox ❤ ❤
