From the Guy Maddin film “Tales from the Gimli Hospital”.

This ostrich is one of many from “Twilight of the Ice Nymphs”.

As the director, Guy Maddin, did not want his portrait in the mural, Charlie Johnston represented the director from the rear.

From ‘Dracula: Pages From a Virgin’s Diary’.

A purple eye was inspired from a short film Maddin did on Odilon Redon. Unfortunately, a beer sign was affixed upon it!

The ostrich is particularly great!
Luv the ostrich! Just a quick question for you. Were you afraid/not afraid of terrorists when you went to Morocco?
Not afraid at all. Firstly – because it was 2012, much safer world than today. Secondly – Morocco is by far the safest country in Africa. And it still is. In any case, I am not afraid of any terrorists, because if something is going to happen, it will happen anyway. I prefer to take this risk, than to watch my back all the time 🙂
Good for you! You are braver than I! Although I am not watching my back, I’m just a bit in fear of going where I might have to watch it.
True, I don’t like where the world is going and what it’s turning into. Nevertheless, nowadays Morocco is safer than half of Europe 😉
That is an interesting comment!
Now that’s quite the eclectic assortment.
Yes, it is! The director is very unique in today’s world.
He wanted me to correct you … It’s The Producer …
Excellent found, again… 🙂
TY, LDN! xo 🙂
These are brilliant!!!! 🙂
Agree! Luv! 🙂
So very cool…love the ostrich.
The ostrich is a beauty!
Outstanding… very neat and original… Happy weekend, dear Resa… best to you. Aquileana 🙂
Happy weekend to you, too, Aquileana! 🙂 Love your newest post & am very excited about Mnemosyne. I can hardly wait for you to see her! 🙂 ⭐
We´ll talk about the future feature soon… can´t wait either to see your dress. Love, always. Aquileana 🍫🍬
What a collage of murals, an entire movie life painted for eternity!
Love Dracula, but who doesn’t and the ostrich is awesome as well!
Have a great weekend Resa! xoxo~Eva
It has turned out to be an awesome mural, and I’m so glad you enjoyed it! Hope you are having a great weekend, too! xoxoxo
🙂 🙂 🙂 xoxo
These are great! So much going on and a good excuse to go get a beer as well, could anything be better?
Lol! Will you be drinking an entire leg of beer?
Leg of beer? I’ll drink the whole body!
LOL! Sounds like me & wine!
Truly remarkable!!! Have been through Gimli several times – great town.
Gimli is a very sweet place, good beach & lots of fun…except during the week when the fish flies lay eggs & then all die. The town is blanketed in them & they make a crunching noise when you walk anywhere. It’s one of those prehistoric prairie happenings!
The beer sign is totally embarrassing. I feel like telling them to take it down.
I agree! That should be a wine sign!
What great art Resa.
The tales from the Gimli hospital might give me a shiver tonight but that is good stuff.
It’s great stuff. So go get some shivers my friend… just for fun! lol 😉
How rude to obscure such a fine
piece of art with a beer sign, now
that is highly disrespectful in my
way of thinking. Getting away from
the negativity in my comment I
think that this artist has produced
some superb artwork. I am of course
impressed with the whole scene,
but am drawn to the vampire, which
looks awesome I must say 🙂 Well
I am a sucker for vampires, if you
will pardon the pun 😉 Have a lovely
Thursday Resa and keep adding
to your collection of graffiti artists,
your taste is absolutely spot on 🙂

I’d love to see the purple eye behind the beer sign! I’m just happy they didn’t put a larger sign over the vampire!
Take care!
Resa xxx
Me too as that would have prompted a bite or three, and those fangs are very sharp me thinks 😉 You take care too my lovely friend xxx
Terrific old post, Resa. I came to it when I searched “Dracula” looking for the sketch you did. I’m hoping to find something suitably Halloweenish to add to the post with your 3 things. Big hugs.
I will send you all of the Dracula drawings! Use whatever you want!
I am so honoured! Eeee! Thank you Teagan!
It’s my pleasure, Resa. You’re the cat’s pajamas!
