Resa- I found out something really interesting about backing up your blog When you back it up with WP it doesn’t save your photos and it saves your text only internally to WP. You would have to save them individually for each post. Do you externally backup your posts including photos using a non-wp source and locale?
Hmm, well I saved a blog on the XML Export feature maybe just over 2 years ago. I then imported them into a new WP site (new URL) … “Art Gowns”
ALL the post images were there, every picture.
The pics that were not there, and I knew they would not be, were the “Likes” .. & the little Hovercard Gravatar pics.
If you look at some earliest Art Gowns posts, you will see screen shots of the “Likes” from before the export.
I assure you, every picture from every post came through.
Hard to believe WP would create a non feature after the fact.
