Graf Art and Street Art & Murals were around for awhile before I clued in.
Quite often I find untagged pieces 10 years or older.
Paint peeling, colors fading and bricks flaking, they reveal recent urban histories.
I admit I enhanced this one.
I believe it’s worth documenting.
So begins my “Old Gold” series of Bits, Pieces and Murals that exceed a decade.

I like the lizard – very Incan – I suppose you look fashionable in your archeologist hat, or pith helmet ?
“lol” I was wearing earmuffs! 🙂
I had envisioned you spelunking for ancient murals…
Ancient murals sound amazing!
I’m afraid of caves! 😎
It looks Mesoamerican. Quetzalcoatl or Kukulkan or something like that.
It reminde me of the snakes at the circumference of this stone http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/a/a7/Aztec_calendar.svg/2000px-Aztec_calendar.svg.png. Maybe the artist had something like that in mind.
It is quite possible.
I was in Palenque many years ago and saw a stone like this. I’m sure I can find a pic in my archives somewhere, but it was before I had a digital camera so it will be on a slide.
Not just “Old Gold” but also “Old God” 🙂 A nice piece, in any case.
Yes, Old God is as valid! 🙂
I thought so!
‘Old Gold’, Resa… just like you to have such creative ideas..! 😉
Thanks, Carolyn! The paintings are so very inspiring! 🙂
I love that you are cataloging the oldies as well as the newbies! Some great cultural/artistic history. 🙂
For sure, Ann! Sometimes the old oldies are better than some newbies! (Personal opinion)
I think the owner of this wall would love the artist to return, if only to be able to refresh his / her property but what a super looking piece of art, it is easy to see why it has been left there for all to admire 🙂
Andro
My dear Andro,
You are in love, as I am!
X’s & O’s to lovers. Street Art rules! 🙂 😎
