Underpass Magic – One

Thanks to Nick Sweetman for making this drab underpass into a thing of beauty!

Let me begin where I entered, on the east side, walking north.

There is a railing to protect us from the thundering traffic.

Of course that makes it hard to shoot large images. You can’t get far enough back.

Also, there are many light issues in underpasses. Even on a cloudy day, the burn of the sun can be seen.

I am presenting the images in order.

This, I guess possum, is so cute!

He is right there as you emerge from the underpass.

Just look at all the art still ahead!

There is the other side of the underpass, as well. I was able to take a few more direct shots from the other side.

Even if the railing was in the way,

I didn’t have to get as creative with the shots, such as the next 2.

This could only be taken from the other side. Unfortunately, the buffalo & moose were behind cement pillars. I suppose they needed those to hold the overpass up.

We had a quick chat on the day. He still had 2 days of painting to go.

The next post has a swan, a butterfly, a mosquito and more!

Into The Wild

Looks like this kitty is about to enter the wild of someone’s backyard.

It must be Emily!

She lives in Georgiann’s back yard, which is lush with plants and flowers in the summer. Now, it’s winter. Emily will stay in her cat house, and wait for spring.

Street Art Speaks

I was tingling with joy when I found this exquisite piece.

I couldn’t take enough pics.

Then, at home, when I looked at the pics I’d uploaded I saw

… a message on the alley curb below it.

Did the artist of this face put it there, or was it already there?

It doesn’t matter who put it there. I bring you this message, now.

“87 elephants Found in Botswana – DEAD – 1 of the Last Safe Havens 4 species.”

Many of us know the elephants are in trouble.

Taking pics of faces from different angles, is interesting.

🎶Squirrels in White Satin🎶

It’s news to me! We have White Squirrels in Toronto.

They seem only to be in Trinity Bellwoods Park. Yay! I live very close to the park, and will now be scouting the white squirrel.

I was wondering why an artist had chosen to paint the squirrels white, on this garage door.

They are rare.

One was found dead a couple of years ago, and the white squirrel people went crazy.

I hope I get to see one!

Hallowe’en – 18

NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART: This post is filled with ghouls, gators, gorillas, giant insects & garbage.

Yes, yum, devour humans!

You guys are lightweights! I eat garbage.

Not as much as we do!

Allow me to chop all that garbage up for you!

Did someone mention garbage?

Don’t look at me! I’m full. I just finished mating, and well, he was a tasty fellow!

I’ll burn your garbage, you stupid alley dregs.

I vote we kick Flame Head out of the alley! He burnt my eye last year, and now I have to wear an air conditioner for an eye patch.

What a bunch of idiots. I need to find a new alley!
