For Cat Lovers (& all animal lovers).
I was in a area by the tracks, and not expecting to find anything.
There was an alley across from the front of the building with the word GEARY.
One garage was painted, with big cats.
Talk about a thrilling find!
Yet another mural I was loathe to leave.
It looked new. A passerby told me it was a year old.
This lion breaks my heart.
What a sweet old soul the artist captured. Humans are not nice enough to animals.
Hmm, I think these may all be endangered cats?
I searched endangered cats and cats on the edge of extinction.
Seems almost every cat, except house cats, are on the list.

The Artist:

Nothing to beat a cat. My wife has the dog, yet to me it should have been a cat. Such is life. All the beast, TOF
Lol, yes, such is life, TOF!
All the beast back to you!
Gorgeous animals and art! I showed the last photo to my husband, and he said, “Wow!”
Thanks Merril! (like I painted it..BUT I found it)
It really is quite intriguing what artists will paint on a wall. YAY!
Your hubs is right. This is Wow!
You’re welcome, Resa. Well, you photographed it and shared it! 😊
YEAH!!!
❤︎ ~ 💙 ~ ❤︎
This “big cat” art is fabulous, Resa! What an amazing find! Garfield the cartoon feline has met his match with these kinetic kitties. 🙂
Yes…Garfield.. Oddly, I used to see a lot more cartoons in the street art world, including lots of Garfields.
Did magnetic Misty like these kinetic kitties? 😬
Hmm, that emoji is supposed to be a cringe, but it looks more like it needs a dentist.
LOL, Resa! 😂 Hopefully emojis have dental insurance. 🙂 Misty likes those big cats a LOT, and also always admires awesome alliteration. 🙂
How wonderful! Misty is alliterate. 😼🤭
Ha ha! 😂 😂
😹😹
🙂
wilderness in the concrete jungle here…
Yes, you are right. I love it.
Thank you for checking out the art!
Wow, what vibrant artwork! The artist has really captured the unique majesty and power of these amazing animals, and the colors are so very vibrant! That panther in the background is sleek and poised, ready to pounce at any moment. Thanks for sharing, Resa! 🐯💜🐅
I agree, Ada!
I basked in this mural for a long while. What a great artist!
It’s my joy to share art.
I’m so happy you visit here.

This mural is so stunning, and so beautiful! ❤️ I can hear those impressive big cats roar and purr…
Have a fine week, dear Resa, and stay safe!
Thank you for checking out this wonderful art, Martha! 💓💓
I’m thrilled you like it. You have a fine week, too! (Watch out for icy streets!)
So gorgeous, these big cats come alive ! I love the Mama Cat and her babies. What a tremendous loss should these beautiful wild animals become extinct. The saying you can judge people by the way they treat animals is true. A wonderful find dear Meece.
xoxoxoxoxoxo
I agree, not just on the beauty of these cats, but on the idea that they would be gone.
It wasn’t until I made this post that I realized – these are all endangered cats.
It’s been nutty over here but I think I’m almost done Neil. I did some photo tests today. It was DARK! Honestly, this winter has been dreadful in many ways.
I’m only out a couple of hours tomorrow, so will send you some test shots to Meece #1 before I dig into finishing it.
Speaking of cats…How’s Bashira?
xoxoxoxoxo
Mr. b is quite the character. He rules the roost here, Max Keeps his distance when B is in a bad mood. He managed to escape the balcony ,I didn’t think he would try it but jumped over to the neighbors and I caught him wandering in the wrong direction, he saw me and turned around and was super glad to see me. He actually was lost ! Now he’s grounded from the balcony. He’s feel at heart but not as wild as he thinks.
I know it’s a a little Crazy there. Don’t worry about Neil. You’ll get it done when you can
xoxoxoxoxo
Hahaha! Of course he rules. Poor Max.
The escape of Mr. B.!
I’m so happy you got him back.
Egads! Misha caught a mouse last night. Norm said it was in her mouth, and looked dead. She played with that poor thing for quite awhile.
NOW, we can’t find it.
Uch!
xoxoxoxoxo
Eeww! They think catching a mouse is a present. Some of my outside neighbors cats leave me a mouse at my front door quite frequently. They are so proud of themselves. Sometime chewing them is so fun they forget it’s a present. 😂
Yes.. the gift of a mouse.
Lol.. thank goodness we are Meece! No cat can get us for a chew. EW! 😹

YES! I luv them!
Hey, your movie was terrific. I hope you got the message I left.
I’ll pop by to see. xx
I did, was savoring it☺️🙏
Thank you!! ❦🕊 ~ ❤︎🌟❤︎ ~ 🕊❦
Ah.. I just checked. Maybe you didn’t see my comment?
You know it’s my fav comments I take the longest to respond to🤗🤍🖤
…I’m honoured…
I normally don;’t say anything if I don’t get a reply, but you put so much into it, and i was so impressed that I wanted to make sure you knew how fab it is and you are!
~ ❤︎🌟❤︎ ~
I don’t get much feedback so this is very good of you and much appreciated👍🙌🖤🌟🤍
You deserve professional feedback. I know comments aren’t like a real life chat, but that’s what we have out here.
👍❤︎🕊❦👍
I like feedback. Consider yourself in my creative pillow fort. Hit me with improvements as you see them as potential for future eps!
OH.. okay.
Pillow fort… love it. Haven’t been in one for … a long time.
You are pretty immaculate with your work. Hard to suggest improvements… but maybe creative ideas? (based on your thing)
Just like anything that comes to mind at any time going forward. Don’t go out of your way.. Particularly Like anything that irks you. For example, you really thought or wanted a plot line (if you can even call it that with the montage style) to go one way and it didn’t… Or the pacing of an episode was too slow or too fast. Things like that… Creative ideas— sure any time. I’ve got some momentum there now, finally.
I aim to be immaculate. That’s half the reason why these take so damn long lol… It may appear immaculate but I think there’s so much room for improvement in emotion. I wanna make people cry. But I never slow the pace down far enough to achieve that. Or dig deep enough into the characters…
Will do!
You are doing great.
In terms of character or plot development (ie make people cry) – Have you ever seen “What’s Up Tiger Lily”?
It’s an early Woody Allen. He takes a Japanese film, dubs over it and creates a whole new film.
Not suggesting you do that, but it’s up your alley in a sense. It may give you some ideas.
I’ve def heard of that; great suggestion! Totally.
Yay!
These cats look stunning and realistic! They appear lively and alert, but the garage door makes it seem like they’re behind bars!
Well captured, Resa! 👍🥰
Yes, I can see that the space between the planks can appear as bars. Well, they are all in a humans’ prison of sorts. All animals on the planet are.
I do love this art, and I;m happy you got to see it.
Thank you, Aladin!

I agree 100%. Thank you, Luisa! ❦🕊

What a fantabulous find! This is just gorgeous from top to bottom, side to side. Beauty.

Fantastic. Just love it. Beautiful artwork, Resa. This is just wonderful.
It is Gi. This cats mural blows me away. What a great day in the alleys by the tracks this was.
Interesting, when I seee the art, the day returns to me. xoxoxo
Beautiful mural and cats. Hear me roar! 😄
Agree!
I hear you roar! You trying to wake up the neighbourhood? 🤭😂
Thanks for the bit of fun, Brad!
😄
Beautiful photos, Resa. It is sad that the big cats of the world are endangered. A wonderful artist. Thanks for sharing. 🐂
You are welcome dear John!
Yes, a wonderful artist and it is sad about endangerment.
Maybe you’ll find something good for Fri-yay! 😺X
Usually do. 😁X

Gorgeous beasts. The artist did a great job of capturing them. xo
I agree, Darlene. The artist is terrific. I’m especially enamoured with the lion’s eyes. x❦🕊o
Oh, I love this, Resa, and I ain’t lion! 🙂
Yes… you are the lyin’ type, Unless it’s lyin’ around the house, I suppose! 🦁🤭
I am the lyin’ type? I’m crushed!! I’m definitely not lyin’ around the house except when I sleep. 😉
You lie in your sleep? Wellllllllll!!!!!! 😉🦁
I lie down. Not lyin’ about that either. 😛
Uh huh! Any lye soap around the house? You wouldn’t lie about that! 😬😬
I’m not really a pussycat person, but there’s something you can’t ignore about big cats. Compelling! I like that the panther’s head is painted over a hinge xx
It is compelling! Yes, the panther’s head over a hinge.. it’s poetic, really.
The big cats are hanging on by a hinge, in a sense.
Thanks, Jo! Glad you got to see this. xx
Very nice!
I agree. Thanks Chris!
Oh my goodness, these are amazing Resa. What a share. Thank you xxxxxx
You are welcome, Shey! I LOVE sharing art. I love everting about the arts…. so far anyway. xxxxxxx
That mural is absolutely stunning! The colors!!
I love it. Thanks Liz!
You’re welcome, Resa!
Hi Resa, I just love it when you show us how to enjoy a wildlife. But these cats are purrfect…..I had the honour of meeting some big cats in New Zealand and I got the same shivers seeing these pics as I did when I met Messi the lion cub at Paradise Springs Valley (park) in Rotorua. Well done Maruiska and thanks to both of you for sharing.
OMG!
Sorry I missed this comment, Tyeth!
Yes, these cats are beauties. I was in a heaven being there.
Lucky you getting to see some big cats. Have a fab week!
No worries, I know you are busy with collecting more art goodies.
When I met Messi he was a cub about 1m in length from nose to tail….but three years later he’ll probably be fully grown now! Boy how time flies. Hope your week is fruitful.
Yes, time flies!
Resa – what a nice find for you. These big cats are beautiful and yes, it is difficult to believe it is not a brand-new paint job, but already a year old.
Linda!
Yes, it has lasted well.
I’m a cat person, so this was a huge treat to find.
Oboy, Friday in 1 hour. Have a great one!
I like animal/bird murals the best. The hours fly by too fast these days. Have a great weekend Resa. Your temps are probably warming up a little too.
Yes.. a little warmer. Tuesday… +1 (of course there will be wind chill, but +1!) ❦🕊
I’ve been enjoying this warm-up. I went out today too, so three days in a row. However, we have freezing fog coming tomorrow morning, so I’ll be staying inside and avoiding that black ice. I am so ready for Spring!
Me too!
I love the personalities of the artist’s cats. That old lion still on the lookout. The black panther on the prowl. The kittens looking like they know that they know. Thanks for the close-ups, Resa. Great find!
Thank you Cheyenne! It was a thrilling find, and I loved sharing every whisker of it.
Big cats symbolize strength and beauty. It must be an artist’s dream to paint their athletic, colorful bodies.
Yes! I agree. Thank you for checking out the art, Pete!
This is an extraordinary mural. I love it!
I agree, Robbie. It was hard not to think of you when I found it.
Then I thought of all my cat friends, so decided not to dedicate it to any one person…. but it sure screams Robbie!
You are very kind, Resa
So are you!
🤗🥰
I got some great shots of a young male lion during our mini break. I’ll post them for you 🦁
Okay! I’ll come by tonight!
The lions are in my Latinos nature post for cats. I’ve linked to you cats post as my inspiration 💞
Gorgeous art, Resa! You were lucky to find these murals. Thanks for sharing them.
Thanks Audrey! What a thrill finding this mural was. I am tickled pink that you like it!
I love cats, and those big ones are endangered, so it’s great to see such good depictions of them.
I agree Audrey. Thanks for taking a look at this gorgeous mural! (meow)
Thanks for sharing these wonderful works of art, Resa. Thanks, too, for not stopping at one panther.
You are so welcome Dan. That panther is exquisite. How could I stop at one? ❦🕊
WOW! I do not know what else to say. Is this by any chance located on the same street you posted a garage from last week? If so, I want to go there for a tour.
Thank you Violet!
No, it’s a different alley, but the alley last week was Filed with garage art. This cat alley garage was an anomally.
Hey, found you in my Spam. It’s good to check Spam a few times a week Akismet likes to put our pals in there sometimes, and we need to free them!
Hey, if you are ever in To, I’ll take you for an alley tour!
oh these are vibtant and so well done (purrrrfect…🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾(
I agree, what a purrrrrfect mural. If I had allergies, the fur would have made me sneeze.
😉 😽 ❦🕊❤︎
🌼🌼🌼
Resa this mural is extraordinary as is your photographs. The artist has captured such dignity and quiet presence in these great cats. There’s strength there, but also vulnerability, especially in the eyes. Your photographs allow us to linger with that “sweet old soul” you mention. Sending hugs!.
Thank you dear Rebecca!
The sweet old soul lingers with me.
So many times I see that in an animal’s eyes.
Hugs!
Cats are STUNNING, big or small! I love how majestic these big cats are… love the mama tiger with its adorable cubs!! That black panther is gorgeous, and you’re right, that lion on the left breaks my heart too. Thanks for this, Resa, beautifully captured!!
You’re welcome Ruth! It’s my joy to share art.
lso, I am a cat person.
xoxoxo ❦🕊❤︎ ~ 💙 ~ ❤︎🕊❦
Resa, I can imagine your excitement at finding this mural. You did splendid work photographing it.
When I was a teenager, there was an article about extinction and I quote, “the big cats will be the first to go.” So I expect you are right that they all are endangered. However, I take some hope from the fact that the article was decades ago, and we still have most of them. Hugs.
Yes, they are still here, mostly in zoos or preserves.
I’ll take what I can get in that regard.
AND I have Misha! (love her so much!)
Hugs!
At last, a place where the big cats have inherited the earth! Well, they WILL take rightful ownership of the planet once humankind has torched itself into extinction. I love everything about these majestic creatures.
Yes, they are majestic. The are also fast, fierce and powerful.
Of course humans are just plain destructive… so we have marginalized them.
Torching ourselves into extinction sounds about right. Humanity is like a chain, broken by its weakest link, many weakest links… hate, fear, greed, lust, etc.
They are proof of mystical design. From where? Who? How? No idea, but therein lies the magic.
Humans prey not for survival but for entertainment so yeah, big difference there.
Add all those things together and it’s lights out.
MUAH!!
MUAH!!
Resa, what a stunning find and no wonder you were thrilled! The Big Cats look amazing and I’m in awe of their incredible expressions – beautiful and tender. I hope they will stay here for a long time and give you a chance to visit many times.
Thank you, Annika!
The artist outdid their self on this mural.
Yes, as a matter of fact I have been to many of my fave outdoor art pieces over and over. It makes going for a walk a wonderful experience.
Happy Lunar New Year, Resa!
🔥🐎🔥🐎🔥🧧🐎🔥🐎🔥🐎
Wow…You too!
Year of the horse.. that sounds great!
🐎❤️❦🕊❦ ❤️🐎
Wow. That is quite a find… The capacity to produce such colours and light is the mark of a great artist…
Thanks for sharing and happy New Year of the Horse…
