Fox & Kits Mural

Adore this mural, but it was a challenge to shoot. It’s 3 stories high.

Wires, again.

Best of all, a TTC shelter several feet in front of it, blocked part of the mural.

Below, an upside pano captured this shot of the most hidden kit.

The second kit, below, was easier.

I shot from across the street with the Zoom.

Above is taken from a left vantage point.

This one was taken from a right vantage point.

This last one was taken straight on. Below is a slideshow of 6 of the 7 butterflies.

  1. Nice one Resa, and hard work photographically, too many letters not sure of the writing..:), but anyhow nice shooting too for sharing this beautiful mural, thanks!

    1. Thanks Jean Marc. Yes, the perfect spot to take pics would have been in the middle of the road, but the traffic wouldn’t hear of it!

It is a beautiful piece. xx

  2. Wow, Resa, this one took my breath away! It’s really special; the way the beautiful pastel colors create a mood of wistful contemplation is so dreamlike. I love the attention to detail in the moths/butterflies, too, the touches of color on their wings here and there. Thanks so much for sharing! 🦋😊🦊

    1. Ahh, so some of them are moths. In as much as I LOVE animals and nature, I’m not so great at ID’ing.

I thought the fox was a dog, until I started working on the post.

Unless it’s one of those terrifying giant bird size moths, I think they are all butterflies. So beautiful!

Thank you Ada! From your comments, I know you are a fab writer!

      🌟❦🌹💖

    1. It really is a wonderful work of art.

Thanks about the angles Dave! It was the only way to present the entire piece, due to the TTC shelter.

      📐🤔

    1. Dear Meece,

It’s a Nick Sweetman work of art.

You’ve recognized his style on other posts. One of the first comments I remember you making on my blog was about a Nick Sweetman underwater ocean creatures mural.

I wondered if anyone would like it, being as that some of the fish/creatures were so weird looking. Not only did you like it, but you knew what some of the creatures were.

      Very cool!

      xoxoxoxo

    1. Thanks Trent! Did my best. Darn that TTC shelter, and of course prime spot to shoot would have been in the middle of traffic.

You could be in Ohio? Anyway, the next post is the one on SH!

  3. What a spectacular mural! Beautiful art and the colors are wonderful. Nice job photographing it, Resa, and thanks for letting us all see it here.

    1. Thanks about the photography, Jet!
I just had to have this in my collection, but that crazy TTC shelter was in the way, so I got creative.
It’s a fabulous work of mural art and I’m happy you got to see it!

    1. I adore this mural, and got a bit sidetracked when I found it. It’s on an odd 3-way corner, and when I finished shooting it, it took the 1 way that was a wrong way for me to get home.

I didn’t realize it for about a half hour because there were all these new alleys to explore.

Yes, it is a private home. It looks like it’s been divided into 2 or 3 apartments.

Thanks about the photos, Merril! I do try. 💙

    1. I understand. Street art has improved the quality of my very urban life. Others here must feel the same, because more and more art appears, in spite of taggers.

Thank you, Violet! I’m happy you got to see this mural.

  4. Wow! What an amazing, vast mural full of compassion and love! It must be by a master painter, and the blue is the best choice. Thank you!

    👏🙏👍❤️❤️😻🫵🪻🖌️🎨

    1. Thank you dear Aladin!

The painter is excellent. He painted a GIANT Monarch butterfly on my house.
Trust you are as well as can be. Will drop you a line tonight!
      💙💙💙xoxo💙💙💙

    1. Well, I shot it anyway, lol! 😵‍💫 It was quite the adventure.
When I found it, it sort of took my breath away. What’s really exciting now, is that it’s painting season again! 💙🦊💙🦊💙🦊💙

  5. Hi Resa, you keep finding these amazing artworks! It must be like walking through a world like Fantasia walking through your local neighbourhoods. There are a couple of “Urban Foxes” living near to my block of flats from the nearby nature reserve in my town (I’ve mentioned the Owls and Squirrels that visit from there before) and the foxes too are awesome. They do make quite a bit of noise when they start playing/arguing though.Luckily these painted animals should be a bit quieter – even though the colours are “loud”!Fantastic share as ever, thank you.

    1. Yes,, in the right places it is like Resa in Art Wonderland. I do love it!
I wish we had foxes around. LOTS of coyotes lately. Also lots of skunks (sooo cute) raccoons, squirrels, rats and mice.

Thanks for the visit and comment, Tyeth! See you on the weekend.
      Hope you are feeling better!

      1. Hi Resa, I’d like to see a few Raccoons at my place – they’re cute too. And I’m slowly getting back to normal thanks – not 100% yet but an improvement..

    1. Yes… what a great word for it, Grand. Thanks Brad!
It’s true, I am dedicated, and the walks to find them are my main exercise.
All in all, a good deal. 🤗

    1. Hello Martha!

I was just on your blog, and read 3 posts.

I made a comment, and don’t see it, so refrained from commenting of the other posts.

I have been having issues with Spam again, and wonder if I am in there.

I love reading about the storks, and am thrilled the eggs are days away from hatching.

Okay, I hope you find my comment! Stay safe! xo

  6. You have found a remarkable treasure, Resa. WOW!! You have a fabulous ability to capture murals in photographs. That is not an easy task. I just found Nick Sweetman on instagram. Sending many hugs your way.

    1. Thank you, Rebecca!
I’ve been taking pics of street art for many years, and I believe my passion comes through.

Nick is a lovely person. He painted the giant butterfly on my home. I’ve had the honour of watching him paint several times.

      BIG HUGS back to you!

  7. My goodness! This must be the most beautiful mural I’ve seen! And albeit challenging, you captured it so so well, dahling! What a beauty! There’s no one part better than another. Nick Sweetman did an amazing work… and sweet Resa for finding and capturing it! xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo

    1. Nick is a terrific artist, a major talent.
He painted the butterfly on our home.

That corner is cruel for taking pics, so thanks. I did my best!

      Sending love all around! xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo

    1. Thanks Robbie! Foxes are so lovely! I feel like I want to hold one and kiss it and hug it!

Ahh, black-eyed jackal. Is there a pic on your Youtube or..Unsplash? I just zipped through Unsplash. Wow, you sure have added a lot of fabulous pics!

        1. Thanks for the link, Robbie. I did see that post. I don’t know why I didn’t put it together?
          Sometimes I seem to think 2+2 =22.

I believe did see them on your Unsplash page, but thought they were the wild dogs.

Anyway, yes, maybe not cuddly looking, but for sure huggable. A very sweet looking creature.

Thank you for teaching e so much!

  8. This mural has a night-time, fairy tale feel to it. A beautiful artwork. It may be swallowed by the city, but I’m very glad you’re celebrating it on your blog 🙂

    1. Thank you Dave!
Celebrating art is one of the joys in my life. I’m always delighted when a work or piece of art strikes a person’s fancy, in any way! 🙂🙂

  9. I absolutely love this mural, Resa! The gorgeous colors and two beautiful aspects of nature! Foxes and butterflies, love them both. Despite the wires, a beautiful find, my friend. Happy Sunday! 🦋🦊❤️🥰

    1. Happy Monday, lol!

I know, wires are a bane of a street art collector. So is traffic, parking signs, trees, trash bins, parked cars, etc..
Still the beauty of the art is bigger than it all.

Okay, it’s election day in Canada!
I already early voted, but am off to buy stuff for a special dinner. I just know our Liberal (Dem) guy is going to win!
      xoxoxoxox🦋🦊❤️

  10. Wow Resa! This one mural is absolutely fabulous! The drawings, the colors! And it’s interesting to see it from different places as well. Really enjoyed it – glad you shared 🥰

    1. Thank you so much!
I’d go nuts living in this steel and cement city without street art. It is such a joy to find and share. 🥰 🥰

  11. Wow, what a fab find. And how many hoops you went through to get all those levels and shots. Sadly, blocked by city. But a beautiful work of art. Hugs <💜💚xox

    1. I adore this mural, Debby! Yes, I jumped through hoops.
Now, another hoop, go check in on the early election results! Hugs xoxo

        1. Me too! I wish Carney got a majority gov’t, but he only needs 2- 4 extra votes to pass bills. I say 2-4, because they are still counting.

          Hahaha! pp lost his seat!!!!
          xoxoxo❦❦❦🍁

          1. Right on my Canadian friend! And to think only months ago, the CONs were up over 20%. Glad to see our country unite, but scary that it came close with too many voting for someone willing to sell off our country! What people can’t distinguish the difference about is voting to save your country and voting for the wrong one because you hate Trudeau. Their slogan – more of the same. BS! Carney IS NOT Trudeau. ❤ xxxx #CanadaStrong!

  12. Beautiful ❤️💓💯

    I started following you. 🫂

I hope you’ll follow mine too; we read and grow together 🫂

🎉 Blessings from Spain 🌷🌸🏵️ Best regards and THANK YOU VERY MUCH 🫂

  13. Wonderful art. Just made me think that 🎃 and his minions never gave a minute of thought to art…

Compliments to all Canadians for this past election. You’re showing the right example to the world. Bravo.

    🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦

    1. Do 🎃 and his SS cult even know what art is?

OHHH, yes! It’s when you gold gilt an entire room in the Whitehouse, and have guests (pigeons) over to bask in it. Have you seen it, Brian? It’s most worthy of a dictator. So gross.

I hope Carney can help Canada do what he plans to help us do. We are trying!

      Thank you, Brain!

      To the world:

      Get your ELBOWS UP!!!!!!!

      1. Resa, I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw that room. It wasn’t enough for him to destroy all that it’s taken 249+ years of work and sacrifice to build (deliberately, because that’s how dictatorships solidify themselves once they worm themselves into a democracy) — he has to make a mockery of it too. I’ve never been so ashamed…

        1. I understand, Teagan. The USA is looking in peril from up here.
It is completely shameful what is happening.
          Heartbreaking, broken.

            1. I watch her show. No wonder your supreme leader want her put in jail.
I saw the clip you are mentioning.
I sent it to friends in Mexico! Hugs!

      2. I’ve started to read the Atlantic interview, saw a mention and a couple of pix… Tacky.
Compliments again to canada. Elbows up. You’re actually the only “western” countries to take a firm stand. Sadly our European politicos are rather useless. We should offer membership to the EU to Canada and Mexico. Not in the statutes? Change the statutes…
        be good.

        1. When I answered a comment from you on your blog, I sent a couple of disturbing news videos.
Canadians want to divorce the US at this point.
Once Europe realizes Canada will supply their energy and raw materials they will change.
Carney plans to build a northern port to ship oil and goods to Europe. He’s already fast tracking everything.

Australia is standing up to America. They are Elbows Up!

We must not break, but we will bend.
We know we still have to deal with the US while things shift over.

Meanwhile, the pumpkin cult is standing firm.

          1. The cult stands firm, indeed. There are many factors to explain that. I’m working on something, not sure if it will pan out… I’m sure you’ve known dozens of screenwriters who started writing something, not sure whether it would work at the end.
Canada seems a good example of we (the world NOT run by the jerk) need. New people, with guts…
Like I’ve said before, what can the rest of the world do?

            1. Stand against tyranny. We peasants have always had to.
At this point do not travel to the states, is a good start. Why bother? You could just end up getting arrested, or turned back. Especially if you are not white.

              1. Haha! I am white. Blonde, green eyes, but I’m a foreigner, French, for worse, and I’ve been writing against their beloved Fürher… I’ll be sent to El Salvador in a jiffy…

            1. TONS of gas!!!

Canada has it all! Gas, Hydro, oil, rare minerals. WATER – 250,000 fresh water lakes in Ontario, where I live.

7.8 billion cubic feet per day of gas goes to the US-
60% of their crude oil comes from Canada
              52% of their petroleum.

Carney, our new PM wants to sell to Europe!!!
I want to sell to Europe!

The Americans are buying it from us, and selling it to you, for profit.

Without the USA in the middle, your gas would be much less expensive.

                1. LOL!
                  Canada can supply Europe!
That’s why pumpkin head wants Canada. He will suck up our resources and what will he do to Canadians?

  14. OMG, Resa! Purple foxes? I’m in love. This is the best mural ever. It should be preserved forever. The 3 boys in the first shot added to it. That petal showing from behind the left boy’s back looks like he has wings. They became part of the mural. (At first, I actually thought they were.) Of the butterflies, the unusual green one is my favorite. You did a beautiful job with these photos. Hugs on the wing!

    1. It’s a terrific mural 100%.
I think it’s in a reasonable non-tag location, but then that’s only one of the many perils of street art. That is why I preserve them on my blog.

It became a good day when I found this. It’s on a wierd 3 way intersection,I went the wrong way and ended having a lovely 🥴 almost 4 hour walk. My legs almost didn’t work the next morning!🤭 Hugs!!!

  15. I love those jewel tones, Resa. They’re some of my favorite colors. What a beautiful mural. And you did a great job photographing it – you always do, even when things are in the way. ❤

  16. Incredible work, Resa. The colors and composition are stunning — even with all the obstacles you mentioned, your shots still transmit the mural’s full energy. Street art and photography both demand persistence, and you nailed it!

    1. Oh. Thank you so much!
      It is a fabulous mural!
Thank you for checking out the mural, and leaving this wonderful comment!
      Yay!!! I nailed it.
