What’s New Pussycat?

Found this in an alley near a public grade school.

It’s very sweet, and appropriate for its location.

Best Pussycat song ever written. It is about pussycats, and nothing else!!!

This is a really fun and beautifully done mural. I haven’t thought about or heard What’s Up Pussycat in years.

    1. It is sweet, Merril! I’m always happy when I find youth appropriate art near a school!
Also, I am a cat person., totally bewitched by them!

  2. Love the mural and now I’ve got the song in my head. Not throwing my underwear, though, which I understand happened at a lot of his concerts. Ewww. Hope it was all clean. 🙂 🙂

    1. Yes, the underwear! I’ve heard about that. (My mom loved TJ, and I’m sure she would have tossed a pair of her Fruit of the Looms at him.)
I’ll bet he got lots of worn undies… ahem… also, lots of extra sexy new undies, in a size small.
You know, he’s still here, and he’s 80! Time for a new hit song! He covered Prince’s song “Kiss”in the 90’s I quite liked it. 😀

  3. Awwwww….. this is Pussycat gorgeous mural and post! Lightened up my …night [just before calling it a day! ;-)] Love it! It’s a happy kitty with happy colors and happy flowers!
MOUAH! A big one and a hug!!!!

  4. This mural reminds me of my mother-in-law’s garden – it is home to many cats, most of which aren’t hers! They just call round for a free meal. I love the colouring technique with the “tiling” effect, very striking but it works.

    1. Your mom-in-law’s garden sounds perfect, not just because of the flowers, but the cats.
Cats love free meals. Hmm, come to think of it, whether or not a cat belongs to someone ,all meals are free.
      Cats rule!

    1. It is a happy song, and this is a happy garage door mural. It warms me to think of all the children who get to see this. It’s not the first “walk art” (you may have meant wall art, but jeez, walk art sure works for me) I have found that is suitable for children. In an area that is family oriented, this outdoor art is a wonderful thing.

        1. Totally! I walk for hours to find outdoor art!
I’m waiting for a new day, a day when my foot is healed, when it is walking weather and I can go freely into the alleys… EVERYWHERE in Toronto and see my beloved art.
In the meantime, you and all my blog pals are the alleys to the art in my heart!
          Love you so much! xoxo

          1. There is a mural down a forgotten alley that was painted just for you, it’s waiting for your ankle to get well to be discovered , we’re going to wear our raspberry berets and white boots and sunglasses walk until we find it. Love you too 👯🍷🍷xoxoxo

            1. OBOY! I’m starting to practice today! I’ve got the thing on my ankle & the streets are dry. I’m going to try a walk for 5-4 blocks. Then 🍷🍷! Raspberry Bunny berets! 👯 xoxoxo

                1. RATS!!! I only made it 2 blocks. I hadn’t counted on getting a shoe on (high top sneakers), then walking in said shoe. Taking it off was no treat either.
I’m going to do 1/2 hour every day, at home, in a shoe. 🍷🍷🍷🍷
Temperature is dropping below freezing again, but next Tuesday it will be +8C = +46F.
Aiming for a 5 block walk then. Stupid shoes.

  5. This is serendipity for me, Resa. I am almost finished with the audiobook of Neil Gaiman’s “The Sandman.” There was one chapter that was about how cats were the superior creatures. (I have always believed that myself.) This is a quote from that chapter that I thought about when I saw this remarkable mural: “All cats can see futures, and see echoes of the past. We can watch the passage of creatures from the infinity of now, from all the worlds like ours, only fractionally different. And we follow them with our eyes, ghost things, and the humans see nothing.” Sending hugs!!

    1. HUGS back to you!
Yes, I’ve also believed cats are the master race. I’ve been running around, securing food, changing litter, paying vet bills, petting, kissing, hugging, fluffing pillows, lint rolling cat fur from clothing (and they don’t even wear clothes), clipping nails, growing grass, brushing, singing to them, cleaning up vomit and more, for most of my life.
Thing is, not one cat has ever asked me for anything. I ask you, who is in charge?
Oh, Johnny is crying! Best rush off to see what he needs!!!!
      PS Love the quote!

                1. Thank you. 💜 I will work on it.
You are one of the few who believes in the beauty, art driven concept and potential of the Art Gowns. You will get a show. 💜
Like anything I do, I need to work on it.
                  Thank you, dear Lonely!

    1. It’s a great one for kids!
I got a pair of high top sneakers on today. I only made it 2 blocks, but it’s a start, and the day was amazing.
