Mercury and Psyche

I went gaga when I laid eyes on this mural.

The translucency of of colours over words is intriguing to me.

The gods never looked so great!

Rising over 10 stories into the Toronto sky line, this tall boy was difficult to shoot with my IPhone.

Oh, and there was this ugly billboard four feet in front of it, so I had to shoot on an angle.

Ah, I get it! Pave paradise, put in a parking lot. Rectify with gorgeous art. Put bad asp billboard 4 feet in front of art. Next!

Turquoise Lion

It’s just a small piece in an alley, and I love it!

He lives midst bits and burners.

The burner (writing) to the right of the lion is by Insight. The face on the far right is an Elicsr.

Unsigned, but a guess would be Nick Sweetman

Honestly, I always thought the name of this song was “Lion Eyes”. I’ve used it on a post before, and I was sure it was “Lion Eyes”. Guess I hear and see what I want to.

Elephant on a Ball

Elephants are dignified gentle giants.

Why would anyone want to teach them to stand on a ball?

This brass sculpture has replaced a Henry Moore that was out front of the AGO for almost 40 years.

Acclaimed contemporary artist Brian Jungen, from British Columbia designed it as a poetic tribute to the plight of creatures in captivity.

CLOSE UP DETAIL

Below is the Henry Moore it replaced.

I Waited 10 Years!

On my first visit to Graffiti Alley, this beauty was one of the first works of art I laid eyes on.

As you can see, she was in a frost fence prison. Not only is the fence 6′ high, there is a locked gate keeping all out.

This is the main reason she has lasted 10 years, without being tagged.

I always check when I go to the alley. For 10 years the gate has been locked. I never tried climbing the fence. There’s always people behind a big glass window.

On my latest trip to Graffiti Alley, there was something going on in the alley, like some kind of surveying.

THE GATE WAS OPEN! To allow the surveyors room to do their thing.

I could see people behind the window, but this was my big break! I entered and shot like a maniac, fast, furious then fled.

I could feel the eyes upon me. I never shot so fast in my graffiti daze.

It’s a Dog’s Life

Good ARFternoon! As a monocle wearing dog, I look much smarter than other dogs.

However, looks and brains  aren’t everything. Heart is also most important.

So, my pals & I are here to tell you about three people and 53 shelter dogs that survived a plane crash.

We found this important information on John Howell’s Good News Friday Post

No dogs jump over the moon, in the post.

SPOILER ALERT

However. you will be over the moon when you read how some of the dogs got adopted by their rescuers.

Thank you for the Good News, John!

I feel like pawing out cigars to celebrate, but I can’t seem to get off the fence about the whole smoking thing. I assure you, I don’t inhale!
