Aboriginal Art

I thought it said “Welcome”.

A month earlier I had driven by, and this mural graced a parking lot.

I finally had time to go back and capture this massive and fabulous mural.

When I got there, it was about to break ground to become a high rise.

I thought 2 things. 1- The mural will be blocked from view.

2- Where do all those cars I saw park now? I mean, there’s nowhere to park in the city.

Yay!! I found a small gap in the chain link fence, just enough to squeeze through.

I didn’t have to climb!

Here are some close ups of details.

I found this on another Day.

Nowhere on the sign did it say “No Trespassing”!

Dog Love

This mural is on a wall that runs along a small parkette, where many people take their dogs. This gorgeous Doberman is near the end of about 200 feet of wall.

So, let me start at the beginning, of what is titled “Green Space For All”. I will keep the art in order as we move along the wall.

Between the dogs are colourful burners (aka writing, lettering).

A panorama shot of a section.

More panorama.

Honestly, I only recognize the Doberman and Dalmatians. If you recognize any other breed, let me know!

Click on Lauren Scott’s poem “Copper Boy”and find her book “Ever So Gently” on Amazon.

Occasionally there are 2 burners in a row.

Gorgeous dogs!

Some of the artists:

My dear friend John Howell’s Twiggy has had a big operation. I send them a herd of OXen.

Marina – Art Towards a Happy Day has a beautiful dog named Hera. Hera is part Pitbull, and is loveable. Each year, Marina shares information and misinformation about the breed.

To all who have dogs, please give your doggie a pet or a kiss from me. They won’t know it’s from me, but they will still like it!

Dems & Doll – Everything Art

I’m such a Street Artist groupie! I was thrilled to meet Dems & Doll, while they were painting.

Honestly, we chatted for awhile, exchanged names, I watched them paint for a bit  and now can’t remember their real names.

Anyway, Dems painted this fab face. I went back a couple days later to shoot the finished works.

Here’s Doll painting!

She gave me a wonderful reflective not sticker, with one of her faces. It’s taped on my purse now.

I took some pics of the art piece Doll gave me. It’s actually more monochrome, but I took it at night w/street lights/ overhead light &/or flash. I love it!

A Rough Patch

Funny how art can hit one.

When I saw these 2 faces, I felt something I know but couldn’t put into words.

It’s got something to with that they are attractive faces,

but the wall is rough.

We all go through rough patches, now and again.

Perhaps that’s whyI love Graffiti Alley art so much.

It’s one big rough patch, but there’s good stuff in it.

The Artists?

Thank You Rebecca!

Rebecca Budd, host of

had GLAM (aka moi) on her podcast. From her home in Vancouver (click on Tea Toast & Trivia to go there), to mine in Toronto

we talked everything Street + Alleys + Art.

Yes, I was a bit squirrelly at first, and think I sound like a chipmunk. However, Don her in residence Sound Man/Audio Engineer did a great job at making it all sound fab. Thank you, Don!

In the end I couldn’t be stopped. I sang like a bird.

Rebecca, here’s some Thank you flowers for you!

1500 Posts Gala

Welcome blogivision viewers to GLAM’s 1500th post! It’s a G0-Go Gala & I’m MC Boogapony Holly.!

Tonight’s theme is GLAM’s tagline, “Luxuriating in the Arts”. You will be treated to poetry, music, dancing, painting, comedy, graffiti and lots of cool fashion, as I work my way through costume changes.

My fab outfit above is inspired by the poem below, which in turn was inspired by a different outfit. That said outfit was inspired by a fusion of 2 groovy personalities. One was real, and the other imagined. Try and guess the answer to this riddle! Outfit, more clues & answer are at the end!

Okay! Time to liven things up! Time to“Pony On Down” Graffiti Alley to the vintage harmonies of “The Beach Boys”!

That was exhilarating and exhausting. Good thing I have this stunning Graffiti Lux art wall that looks like stained glass to lean on. Which brings us to the art part of our show.

Below is a mural, rendered in a realism style, of Charlie Chaplin and a vaudeville company in 1914. Charlie stayed at the now decrepit hotel it is painted on. Learn more about this mural on a podcast featuring moi, on Tea Toast and Trivia!

However, art has been created in many styles over time. Right now I’m thinking of the successful artist of the 60’s, Andy Warhol. He began the Pop Art movement. Crazy what he did with soup cans.

Not to be forgotten is Op Art. However, to be totally original, I’m starting the Oops Art Movement, as imagined above!

Now, for the first time on any stage anywhere, to present GLAM’s commemorative gift to all of you, is my kid sister. Take it away Boogalu LuLu!

So, umm, like before I tell you what the gift is, I got this song to play for you. Don’t let the treacle voice of 26 year old Bella Poarch fool you! The  message is killer.

Okay, so like, you’re all getting a free Boogapony Holly Paper Doll download. Don’t worry, the paper doll won’t kill you! Although you might get a paper cut, so there is that.

Click on cover to view &/or download

….. And thank you Boogalu LuLu! That was … a song!

Now it’s time for more clues and the  RIDDLE ANSWER!

Here I am in the originally inspired fusion outfit, that inspired Holly’s poem. Take a good look! There’s 2 personalities in the styling.

More Clues – can you guess who the 2 personalities are?

Before the curtain closes on GLAM’s Go-Go Gala, I’m going to Go-Go my way through some surrealistic art to the sounds of  Corey Hart singing.

Thank you all for being here to help me celebrate, dear friends! Now, I leave you with a parting question and a final fashion tip:

QUESTION

If a multitude of graffiti tags are all piled upon each other in 1 spot, does that create a work of art in its own right?
