Spring Chicks

The first day of spring is in a few days, & the Uber 5000 chicks celebrate with art.

The painting doesn’t get any higher than this. It is mostly 2 feet off the ground.

I tried hunching down low.

As you see, getting down on my knees & elbows worked better.

The Chicks are writing!

They are reciting and acting!

They are painting!

They are erasing mistakes, and starting over again!

They’re taking off to the alleys to paint street art.

They are riding waves, and

…painting Sea Serpents.

1st Nations + Street Art = Kids

Cash Akoza has taken First Nations style art to a new horizon.

In an older, drab area of Winnipeg, Cash has added color and theme & brightened it up for all the kids who live there.

There are 5 painted walls, all in small area between a street and an alley. It’s a place where a lot of kids live. This one of the walls.

The traditional costume is very beautiful.

The happiness is beautiful.

From New Delhi with Love

Sidran works with children in New Delhi, India, and has sent us some Street Art for Kids’ Month.

She sends “Best wishes for the kids month initiative.” She said I was special, but I have to change that to – we, everyone here during Kids’ Month are special.

Sidran says: “I am attaching some pics taken from Lodhi Art District, New Delhi. It is supposed to be India’s first public art district.”

She also says, about the art: “I like them for their simplicity and colors.”

Well, I do, too! The naive quality is great for kids, & I am thrilled children (& adults) in New Delhi are enjoying the beauty.

I just adore that doggie in the pic above! I send big happy wishes, and many a Thank You to Sidran

Yay!!! I mailed my book off to “PBPIO” in Iowa yesterday.

What a Whoot!

Owls are amazing creatures that go to work under the colors of night.

I found this painted owl on the side of a tiny building in Winnipeg.

Cindy Knoke found a real life owl at “The Living Coast Discovery Center in The San Diego Bay National Wildlife Refuge. It’s amazingly gorgeous, and if you click on Cindy’s photo of the owl, you will get to see an entire post filled with this beauty!

My painted owl is very pretty, and lovely to look at. However, when I look at Cindy’s owl, I want to hold it and kiss it and hug it and love it.

A big “thank you” to Cindy Knoke, a fave blogger of mine. She takes fabulous photographs, and shares them with us. Her blog is visually gorgeous and educational. She has joined with me to help make this wonderful Owl Art post into more than just another pretty face. It now has a beautiful soul.

Uber’s Chicks

These sweet birdies are all over the city for young and old alike to enjoy.

This painted power box is outside of a grade school, and community park.

Seems like chicks and “Chicklets” alike are for kids, and kids are very cool.

Even the stupid tag on this side doesn’t ruin it, for me. I hope the kids who see it everyday are inspired by the art, and not the vandalism. I’m hoping Uber 5000 comes back and touches it up.
