Fox & Flowers

Sweet innocence

Sometimes the most simple art enraptures me.

Frannie Potts’ style has a way of making me imagine I feel like a blooming flower, or a butterfly about to fly.

“Flowers in her hair”

Holly reminded me of this song, when she posted it a couple of times, and so did the fox with flowers.

    1. Thanks Luisa! I really adore that fox painting.
The song is old, and although very pop, it does make me happy.
Flowers in hair makes me happy. xx

  1. This is such sweet art ! It brightens the day. Flowers in her hair…flowers everywhere . I love that! Just beautiful dear Meece. Thank you for such a sweet, serene , serendipity.

    1. Welcome, Holly Meece!

Serendipity… yes.. it seems that way.
The alley is dusty, filled with trash bins, a rat runs by… (they are actually cute in the alleys), vandal style graffiti everywhere, then suddenly – A Fox with Flowers.

Art (the arts) make life work, better.

Thanks for reminding me of that song! Soon, I will put flowers in my hair. I find dandelion crowns last the longest.

AND.. the drawing is 100%. I may have taken all the pics I will take. Just doing some editing. You will have selections this weekend! EEEeeeEEee!

    1. Thank you, dear Thunder!

It’s a … sucky kinda song, but it does work with this bucolic image.

      Hey, bucolia, broccoli, begonia’s….YA!
      xoxoxoxoxoxo

                1. LOL…
                  XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXO

Sigh I just switched to Firefox browser. Now I have to be in my admin page to access the notifications bell.
Maybe Tim has an answer on if I can get it on the site page.

                  1. 😂🤣😁

Ahhh… I used to use Firefox. Have you noticed that some blogs, you just can’t access the notifications bell? I thought it depended on their theme.

                    1. On google chrome the bell was everywhere, for me.

I had an odd issue on chrome (Google photos) that just popped up today. When I looked into it, nothing I did resolved it.
BUT chrome would not let me delete my cookies or cache to 0. It was suggested there was browser corruption.
So, until I can clear the cache and cookies over there, I guess I’m here.
That issue is gone here on Firefox.

At least Firefox is less invasive. I still have the bell, but not on the main page, only in the admin page. That may be a security feature.

Sigh – more investigating and customizing … learning.

I do know that google is more privacy invasive… and I hate supporting the google trump supporting billionaires.
Not that one can get rid of them completely, but minimizing is a good option.

                    2. I use Chrome but there are at least three blogs I follow where the bell does NOT appear on their site, that is.

What a pain in the patootie. Firefox is better for some stuff. I cannot remember why I ended up going back to Chrome. Hmmmm…

And I am with you on not wanting to support anything for those cretins.

                    3. Yes, the cretins have us in a neck hold.

I must say Chrome is SLICK, until the bs that came up the other day.
Even though I made Firefox my default, I’m still over here using Chrome.
So, now I’m using Chrome for some stuff, and FF for other stuff.

I like the philosophy behind Firefox, and the protections it offers. However, Chrome makes it a lot easier for us pedestrians.

You need to work a bit harder to use Firefox, run by people (apparently)
The other tech bro billionaires are making us lazy, in a way.
                      Now AI.
I have not allowed it on my browsers or blogs. I won’t even allow Sync.
It’s a kind of tech seduction…. that equals something sinister in the long run.

                    4. You’ve got me reconsidering going back to Firefox. My brother-in-law works in computer stuff and will not touch the Google or anything related to it.

                    5. I’m using FF right now. It’s a different world, a bit more work, a new learning curve, but I’ll try for awhile. Xoxoxoxoxo

                    6. xoxoxoxo
Well, so far I am not Resa on FF. According to Holly, I am Someone.
So, if you get a comment from “Someone” in a comment…or in Spam… or in approvals… could be me.
Until this is sorted, I will only comment from FF where I know I can email people to pull me out of Spam or whatever other online jail “they” toss me in.

It feels like “They” own us.

    1. Agree!
And there are finally real flowers in the city. I saw purple tulips and purple and yellow Iris today. I stopped and stared. 🦊🦋💐

        1. OH!
Gee spring goes by faster and faster last couple of decades… or so it seems too me.
Now, bring on the long hot summer!
Ahh, the city cement is heating up quite nicely.

          1. Our spring was crazy this year–unseasonably warm to freezing in April, which destroyed some crops.
We just had some beautiful days–pleasantly warm, cooler at night. But today feels hotter, and I finally turned on the a/c.

            I’m not a fan of hot. 😊

            1. My ac is on too…and we are just getting spring flowers.
Norm planted lettuce last week. We are madly eating salad suddenly. The lettuce is full and Norm says the heat will make it bolt really soon this year.

              Hot sucks! ❦

              1. Fresh lettuce is wonderful. We have tons of Romaine from our farm share, and getting more today. Red romaine today. Doug doesn’t eat salad unless I make it and stick it in front of him! 😂

  2. I love these garage door paintings. I wish we had something similar- but up here you’d stand the chance of getting shot by people who take their privacy way too seriously! What can I say- it’s all part of living on the last frontier…

    1. Lol…Frontier?
Where do you live? You don’t have to answer… but SHOT?
      Yikes.
People here are proud of their outdoor art and murals. I’m so happy for that. 🦊💐

  3. I LOVE this mural, Resa!!! There is something almost mythological about the combination of the fox and the butterfly. The butterfly always makes me think of transformation and renewal, while the fox brings to mind intelligence, adaptability, and a touch of mystery. What I especially love is the way the fox’s tail seems to become flowers. It gives the mural a dreamlike quality, as though nature itself is continually transforming into something new. Sending many hugs!

    1. OMG! I thought I answered this. Too much art on my mind, probably.

Yes, mythological, and what a great way to teach young children about mythology – with naive & appealing images like this.

True.. There is a transforming message with the butterfly and flowers in the tail. I hadn’t thought of it this way, but it is a valid and keenly detected message.

Thank you for you wonderful mind, Rebecca! Hugs ricocheting back!

      1. Oh Rhonda, many thanks for your lovely response. I have found that some comments don’t come up in my notifications and I have to play catch-up once I find the unanswered comments.

    1. I agree, Robbie.
It’s crazy what I find painted on garage doors. I am so thankful to live in an art lovers city!
I think of you a lot when I’m out art hunting.
I found a gorilla head yesterday.
It made me think of you… lol well where you live. Obviously you are WAY prettier than a gorilla.😉😅
      🦊🦋💐

  4. Hi Resa, you may recall me saying I live on the outskirts of town near to a small nature reserve and from my flat I regularly hear a family of foxes during the night and have seen the creatures close up now and then whilst I was out and about. And the look Frannie captured in that fox’s eyes is perfect (along with the ears cocked forward). The only thing I would say is that this fox doesn’t have the whiskers on it’s muzzle (known as mystacial vibrissae) but that is being picky on my part. Fantastic art and again a fantastic find, thanks for sharing.

    1. How am I missing comments?

It’s because I use the notifications thingy, and it gets so long it gets cut off, I think.

Lucky you to have foxes. I wish I had a fox… or could see one. There’s lots of coyotes around right now, but again, I haven’t seen one.

Thanks Tyeth! It’s a cool piece of art.

      1. Hi Resa, no problem – I know you wasn’t ignoring me. And things might get more difficult now WordPress has started to leave messages in our inboxes telling us we have achieved a particular task/objective or they’ll pick out past posts to look at or reblog in an “On this day you posted….” feature. It feels more like playing a video game now!

        1. They treat us like children. It’s like going to Girl Guides or Boy Scouts and collecting merit badges.
Next they’ll be selling cookies and advertising camp outs.
Oh well, I enjoy blogging and all my pals here!

      1. Nah…. I dinnae. We have an accommodation them and I that if I step into our garden at night to pad round all the areas I’ve strung with lights and I see them also there we acknowledge each other . This entire area was originally farm lands way back and the remnants remain. The other day there was a rammy in a neighbour’s involving a cat and a fox which was injured and trying to get away from the cat. What is the real entertainment is that up near the carriageway on the non coastal road to Arbroath there’s what we call spaghetti junction–it’s so tangled– where you keep your wits about you at all times. And avoid at all the times you can too. The day it was first opened–years back now– the aunt , uncle and cousins of a then school friend of my younger girl, were killed in a horrific smash there. Anyway the foxes have crossing it down to a fine art. They trot up and wait at the crossings …and you have to cross several bits of road no matter where you are crossing too—and they wait for someone to push the button then they trot over to the next ‘island,’ for the next button to be pushed.

        1. Hahaha!
LOVE the Fox crossing story. Thank you!
Animals are smarter than we give them credit for.
You live in a lovely sounding place, Shey.
My place is not so lovely, but there is LOTS of art, and that is super.
          xxxxxxxx

          1. We are very, very lucky here. Way back before the onslaught of jute to the town. was originally a fishing village a few miles from the town. The village became the ‘harbor’ of rich jute barons and the entire ‘spin offs’–oh I am in fine fettle today, (NOT)–wealthwise that went with that. The bit all round the harbour here is still that village in terms of the buildings. We are about five mins up the hill on foot from that in former mansion territory and it is paradise to us being so close to everything on offer, including a beach, a castle, a few streets of lovely shops, bars, eateries, cafes,, shore walks oh and foxes squirrels, etc in the garden… . I am glad you have the art my darling. I wouldn’t like my Resa living somewhere she says is not so nice without that. And yeah animals are something else. It sure has learned how to go about here.

    1. It’s a sweet image, and makes the alley so much nicer.
Yes, I had forgotten the Cowsills…if I ever knew that name, but that song has been around for a lot of my life… here and there, once in awhile.

  5. What a beauty, Resa! Doesn’t it make your heart flip when you find something lovely?

On a funny note- a restaurant near us has a wall with the words ‘you are beautiful’, near the loos. I turned to the adjacent mirror and said ‘liar!’ Pehaps ‘flatterer’ would have been kinder xx

    1. LOL!
Mirrors are the liars. However, Eyes, being widows to the soul, will see your beauty in the mirror when you look into them.
There’s more to see in the mirror than our … faces.
Great comment. Thank you, Jo! xx

  6. I do love nature-inspired art, Resa, and this mural is wonderful! Such vivid colors and that fox is so enigmatic and curious. The wildflowers are summery and I do love the butterfly, too; they are such a joy to see in the spring, mainly because their time is short-lived, I think. What uplifting street art! Thanks for sharing! 🦊🌸🦋

    1. Yes, you are right Ada. Enigmatic and uplifting are perfect words for this image.

Ahh, the beauty of art, spring, flowers and my blog pals.
Thank you for popping by! ❦🕊🌹🕊❦

  7. Excellent title: sweet innocence! As you mentioned, simplicity often holds the greatest beauty. As Dr. Jung states: “If only simplicity were not the most difficult of all things. It involves observing the growth of any fragment of fantasy objectively.” Thank you (among dear Holly) for this simple beauty!

    🫠🩷🌺🫂

    1. Thank you, dear Aladin!

It is a nice escape/relief to look at this image. Like the song says, it makes me happy.

Dr. Jung is most intriguing. I look forward your next post about his work. (whenever that is)
      xo❦🕊🌹🕊❦

    1. Thanks Ruth! Yes, it is summery and pretty and I adore it.

On another note – 🎵 In my Emmy watching, I’m just over half way through “Half Man”. Wow!
      Have you seen it?
      XOXOXOXOXOXO

  8. Thank you, Resa, for this wonderful post. It’s filled with joy, whimsy, color, and innocence. What a breath of fresh air. I love it. I always liked that old song too, and haven’t thought of it in ages. Thanks for including it. Big hugs.

  9. Another fantastic find. God bless garage doors. This little fox has very sweet eyes. And the flowers in its tails.

You must be thrilled on your walks by the possible wonders you’ll find.

    Thanks for sharing, Resa

    1. Yes, garage doors are a huge bonus in my life.
      Thank you, Brian!
Painting season is on, but so is the heat. UCH. So, my walks are shorter, but I’m still out there.

The AGO is hosting a showing of Impressionist art from the Dallas Museum of Art. It is apparently the #1 collection in North America. So, on a day when it’s too hot to walk outside, I’ll be walking in the vast rooms and halls of our art gallery.

      1. Is it very hot now in Canada? Walk in the shade. 😉
I might have heard that the Dallas collection of impressionists is a good one. Not sure where I read that. Enjoy the show…

        1. It is stinkn’ hot, in Toronto. The humidity is the foil. It can be 25 c, but feel like 35c.
I can hardly wait. The members have early access July 1- 5. I’ll go one of those days. Otherwise it is too packed. xx

  10. Here in Australia, foxes are classified as pests because they’re not natives and they out compete the natives but…I love them to bits. For a couple of years we had a young fox come visiting, looking for the odd handout. I still miss the little guy.

      1. I understand why the conservationists are against foxes and cats and feral dogs and feral pigs etc etc etc, but…they ignore the far more terrible damage humans and human infrastructure has done in destroying habitat. So I find it a bit hypocritical, besides, I love cats and foxes. 😀 Oh and the little guy who visited? He would look at me sometimes and I just knew he was /thinking/ – will she hurt me? will she feed me? He really was so sweet.

        1. Aww, poor animals. We’ve made a mess of their habitats and shovelled them around.
It’s no wonder some have become pesty, and some are almost extinct.

The fox sounds so lovely, Meeks!

          1. Yes, yes we have, but all the virtue signalling hasn’t stopped us from building more roads and destroying yet more habitat. But hey, it’s easier to blame the ferals, right?

Speak your art mind!
