Scattered Order 1V

COMMISERATIONS TO ALL MY AMERICAN FRIENDS, ON THIS 25TH ANNIVERSARY OF 9/11

Looks like this underpass art will take 1 more post to complete.

MEDĒIO is the artist, and he was so lovely. Monkyi whose art I will share in Scattered V, introduced us. He was kind enough to chat with me for about 15 minutes.

The art extends along the wall, well past the actual underpass.

As this is one of my fave pieces, I’m sharing 3 more pics below.

There’s 3 pics of this very cool Graffiti Lux below.

This artist likes to paint tea parties. I have seen & shot a few now.

Love the blue streak on the cheek.

Gotta have cartoons and madness represented in street art!

Some finishing touches were added to a few pieces. I got most, but want to double check. Those will be in Scattered 5.

Not sure if that is Andrea or Catlin below, painting the above.

I have been a fan of Bunso’s work for several years now. However, I just don’t get the painting in the slideshow below.

The image actually unnerves me somewhat.

Not sure what this says, but I think the yellow says – INSIGHT?

Fell in love with this stamp, so have to include a mini slideshow.

  1. It’s lovely to see such work on this day of sad commemoration. I especially love the peace dove, the women drinking tea, and the bird stamp (a European robin?).

Thank you for sharing all this art, Resa!

    1. You are welcome Merril!
      I love sharing art.
The dove is one of my 5 faves of the underpass art collection.
Yes, I think a European robin.. a robin red breast. ❦★

          1. American robins are in the thrush family. They’re songbirds, and larger than European robins. We have so many of them here, especially in spring and summer. You probably have the same. I believe the European robins are more solitary.

            1. Ohh… cool.
I have never seen one sing. If I heard one, I wouldn’t know what bird it is. I do recognize the House Finch’s pretty song, and crows’ caws and the scream of the Blue Jay…pigeon coos… sparrow cheeps..

              Thank you, Merril!

              1. If you wake up very early in late spring and summer, they are usually the first birds to sing, beginning before dawn. And in the summer if you’re in a grassy park, you will probably see them in large groups. They may not stay all winter where you are, but they’re here all year. https://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/American_Robin/overview?gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=24016939148&gbraid=0AAAAADzNbpxc6yQLGWMaQ6sy-6vB-dEPf&gclid=Cj0KCQjwk5nVBhDiARIsAHNGqacJrR2RjAG5Eh3Gl2au9k3Syyrnl4taUeGPXueGkFzq_f_aGkAy_B8aAlkTEALw_wcB

                    1. No… I don’t. I’ll add it if I go somewhere where I can hear birds. Well, more than I get to hear where I live and go.
I rarely hear birds other than sparrows, pigeons, grackles and seagulls where I live.
Sad… no wonder I scrounge the alleys for art.
                      Thanks Merril!

  2. Thank you for gifting us with such a beautiful collection of street art on this sad anniversary. We need more beauty, more loving, more kindness, more compassion, more of every single good thing in this world. Less war . . no war.

    MUAH!

  3. Hi Resa, Such stunning artwork to share on this day of remembrance after twenty-five years. I remember that day vividly, watching the news, seeing the horror and feeling my heart break for those lives that were shattered. So, I love the first piece the best. Hugs xoxo

  4. I do love nature and birds, so loved this! It’s like every individual feather stands out. I like the way he used black and white to draw you in, and the orange splashes of color makes it stand out so it’s both subtle and bold at the same time! That cartoon art is really cool and fun; I’ve never seen anything like it before! The artists’ tea party is lovely too; I love the colors and laid-back, inclusive vibe. Toronto seems like a wonderful place to enjoy street art! Thanks for sharing, Resa 🌻🌸🎨

    1. My pleasure to share art, Ada, and you are so welcome!
I’m thrilled you like the dove. It’s a simple, yet effective work of art.
      Have a fab weekend! 💙★❦

      1. Thanks Gi! I love all of this art. 1 more post, and the underpass will be done. First I have to get back there, and check on some finishing touches.

I have found a lot of art lately, and have been drawing the AGMs for the first time in a while. I’m making you guys a bit too tall and skinny, but that will calm down.
Anyways… when the body is so long, it is very 70’s illustration style.

  5. Hi Resa, fantastic offerings as usual. I have to say as soon as I saw the Tea Party images and those diamond pattern outfits I immediately thought of Zandra Rhodes and Freddie Mercury!

And great sentiments shared, thank you.

  6. I remember 9/11 as if it were yesterday, Resa! Thank you for this wonderful tribute to our American friends. I was very proud of the way Canada stood beside United States after 9/11. (Just watched the ceremony taking place in Gander, NFLD) There was such a strong sense of neighbour helping neighbour, especially in the way communities opened their homes and hearts to stranded travellers. Twenty-five years later, that spirit of kindness and solidarity is still lives on!!!

    1. Yes… great way to describe the piece, Audrey, chaos & precision.

Yes… art is like that… always something different, or wonderful.. or a SURPRISE … or the comfort of something old.

Art is working for me, at this stage of life.
      xx

    1. Penny!

Lol… calligraffiti is a cool word for the writing.
“Insight” has been around since you lived here, I’m sure. He always writes… calligrafs if you will. Mostly he does his name…”Insight”, but I have seen other lettering by him.

      Do remember the artists name?

      1. How I wish I remembered his name! It seems betrayal, not to. It was somewhere in the first 15 years of this century, when I was following street art quite closely, and some amazing artists & artwork were all around. He had sent me to visit the murals he did on commission for a Toronto mosque and that had us talking about the prohibition on representing human beings, thus his development of an elaborate artistic calligraphy that he dubbed calligraffiti

    1. Those 2 are my faves here, as well.
Yes, Liz, … that image… and why is an almost naked … kid? …riding the creature? The string??

I don’t get it. Not that I get all art. Yet, I am disturbed by this one, without knowing why.

  7. Resa! I’m with you…the stamp! So unexpected from a street art perspective. I love it. Actually, I love all of the art you showcased—and that blue “cheek streak” really does captivate. Thank you! ❤️

    1. Thank you dear and sweet Meece!
      I have been hiding a bit… another pal died… wtf…

More stuff, but the good news is, I have been drawing AGM’s again. It’s a great escape. AGM Holly’s outfit is gorgeous.

Now I want to use your “Cantilever” poem for these pics… not the street art. I’ll see if I can draw a cantilevered staircase. LOL…maybe…

Anyway, have been hiding in creativity. New Art Gown is started!
      ꧁❦ ★💃🏽★ ❦꧂

      1. Oh no, I am so sorry you are going through these losses. I’ve been hiding out a bit myself. Trying to get back from that car accident. Not doing much of anything.
Yay 🎉 for AGM! That’s great news. I can’t wait to see them.
        xo💃xo💃xo

  8. Resa, I can only imagine how much joy it brought you to visit these murals. So much vivid color! I just love them. You know how I need color. I feel recharged just looking at the photos. And to get to chat with some of the artists — awesome. Way back when I got to do a little traveling (before I became the way I am now) my favorite part of any trip was meeting and having conversations with the local people. Anyhow, the one exception for me is the one you mentioned as being unnerving. I agree, it has a deeply sinister vibe. Yes, it’s masterfully done, but I wouldn’t want to spend any time looking at it. Have a brilliant weekend. Hugs.

    1. Yay,
I’m thrilled this art lifted you up.
Yes… the artists are a bonus when you get to watch them paint. I’ve gotten to meet many.

A sinister vibe…YES! Good way of putting it.
Started working on the Raccoons post. Will be mailing you soon!
      HUGS!

          1. … okay, continuing my reply.
Thank you, Teagan. It has been a crazy month. On top of others, Jakob Creutzfeldt disease took a younger friend.

Anyway, heading out but will mail you when I get back with a Raccoons post update.

  9. Dear Resa, what an extraordinary collection of street art. The colors, imagination, and incredible variety of styles are captivating, but the peace dove especially touched me.

Sharing these works on the 25th anniversary of September 11 gives them an even deeper meaning. On a day when we remember so much loss, art reminds us that beauty, creativity, peace, and hope can still emerge even from the darkest moments.

Thank you for sharing not only these remarkable works, but also the stories and artists behind them. “Make Art Not War” feels especially powerful today. Beautiful post, dear Resa. ❤️🕊️

    1. Thank you so very much for this heart felt comment, Mihran!
Yes, I have fallen into the arms of art, and all of the arts for comfort and guidance of a sort.

Greed for money and power is the driving force of the few that make life miserable for the many. I suppose I would like to be a magician and turn greed into appreciation.
To that end all I can do is expose, share and participate in as much and as many of the arts as possible.

      Again, thank you!

  10. Can’t believe the 9/11 tragedy was 25 years ago, I will always remember where exactly I was when I first heard the news of the first plane hitting the Twin Towers 🥹

An interesting mix of art here. The tea parties painting is so adorable; I love all the colors and the blue clouds in the girl’s hair!

    ⊹₊˚‧︵‿₊୨ᰔ୧₊‿︵‧˚₊⊹

    1. I remember too. It was a life changing day.
Glad you like the mix. There is so much art in the underpass, if I posted the images one at a time, it would take a year.

And… I keep finding more art. Lol, I have a wonderful problem.
Thanks for your visit, dear Ruth!

    1. NO worries! I miss posts and comments all the time. We are human…still.
I missed a couple of yours, but think I caught up.
OH.. I’ll be needing a pic of the downed Tangle Heart for the new AGM/PBH tale. I have the broken Tangle Heart pic.
I mention this, as I can’t remember if you just sent me a pic of it or if I can find it in your search thingy.

Let me know! I’ll be by searching for Rebecca’s Bamboo, so can do it all at once.
      xxx

  11. What a wonderful post, Resa, color, humor, tea parties, birds with impossible wings. The artists didn’t paint over despair, they painted *alongside* it, which is exactly how we survive. Thank you for finding these treasures and bringing them here.

  12. I LOVE this Resa and the art is so awesome and your timing of the piece. “MAKE ART NOT WAR”. Yes to this. I agree with your assessment’s.. The yellow is not legible to me for sure.. hope your posture is improving and you walk the streets my friend and have a great weekending and Fun-Fri-Yayyyyy!!! xxx

Speak your art mind!
