Robbie’s Cats

From Queen Push Push at home,

To a Queen in the jungle,

To a fondant kitten,

… to a scream in the jungle,

Robbie’s cats take on a deeper meaning – the knowledge, respect and caring of all wildlife.

She has photographed, videoed, written story books & poetry, painted, blogged and fondanted her message into the world and into my heart.

Time to shine a star!

The idea to spotlight Robbie’s work began with a post I did on GLAM that featured street art with kittens. (click on the pic below to see the post)

Robbie was then inspired to respond with fondant kittens.

This is my response.

Robbie lives in South Africa and has access to seeing its wildlife. The following shots (& more) of hers are available for free at UNSPLASH ROBBIE CHEADLE

I have read many of her children’s books. Her books teach and have taught me, an adult. In “Sir Chocolate and the Fondant Five” I learned about the Big Five in Africa.

Do you know who the “Big Five” are?

Well, they are the “Lion, Elephant, Leopard, Rhino & Buffalo”. I found these videos on Robbie’s YouTube channel. They are only seconds long, so have a watch!

* Note: I couldn’t find a leopard video, so the Cheetahs are filling in.

Robbie’s YouTube Channel is a creative depot, with readings, recipes and animals. There are also videos of monkeys, birds, giraffes, waterbucks, hippos, kudu, zebras, wild dogs, insects and more.

Robbie writes with her son Michael Cheadle, who shares her love of nature and desire to help protect it. I haven’t read “Neema the Misfit Giraffe”, but am bound to.

A prolific creator, she will have another book out before I post this. “Square Peg in a Round Hole: Poetry, Art & Creativity”

You can find her books on Amazon sites around the globe. Just search “Robbie Cheadle” for children and youth books – “Roberta Eaton Cheadle” for adult books.

Some of her books are also available on KOBO.

Visit Robbie on her blogs:

Finally, flowers don’t scream. However her photos of them, like this Magnolia, sure do.

  1. Loving the lion pictures, they take me back to my encounter with Messi a lion cub I met at Paradise Valley Springs wildlife park in Rotorua, New Zealand. Even though he was only a few months old he was so powerful and I think I had a connection with him. He’s probably not so little now.

    1. You’re probably right. Messi is probably a teenager now, soon to be adult.

Im glad there’s wildlife parks now. So much better than zoos.

      Take care, Tyeth!

    1. Thanks Dave! Robbie is amazingly talented, and I love how she is focusing much of her ability on animals. This is on top of work and surviving. She’s a powerhouse.

    1. I love it too. That’s because of the animals. Through her arts. Robbie educates about animals and their plights due humans’ actions. I’m really happy to have met her, her arts and messages therein. xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxooxoxoxoxo

            1. Lol! Well Marina’s beautiful Hera is a loving doggie, and loves to kiss people. Thing is, a lot of slobber is involved with her kisses.
So, I use the sponge emoji to help clean up the love!
There’s a couple of other bloggers with slobbery kiss doggies, and I use the sponge there too!
              It’s my #1 used emoji… 🧽 that and the 🐂.

      1. Marina is a true animal lover and supporter. The Art Gown I dedicated to her, “Cecilia Lionheart” was a tribute to “Cecil the Lion”. That incident broke my heart. …. the cruelty….

    1. Thank you dear Shey!

Robbie’s work educating about African wildlife is most inspiring. I feel honoured to shine a star here.

I’m so happy you’re here! xxxxxxx

      1. Ps I am totally revamping our kitchen after I ..er.. caused afire in it. Anyway, I now have a wall, distressed birck and I have made it my family wall and I’ve got things related to our immediate family. I put up a few thigns for my Mr. When it came to finding something for and of me, I chose one of the drawings you did of me. I must send you a pic of thta wall xxx

        1. YOU caused a fire, and it wasn’t in one of your stories?
Yes, I’d love to see the wall! I adore distressed brick. xxxxx

            1. Lol…. he fire was that in a different way……….as in NOT. Anyway, the kitchen was needing a major overhaul, so yeah. It is a good sized wall with no winodws or units on it so I had this idea of painting it like the side of old buildings you see with faded advertising signs. And I’ve done an anagram of the grandchildren’s names so it kind of sounds like an old diner. it’s nuts but hey. Been getting on now with the rest of it all.

    1. No snow today, but yesterday it snowed all day. The 3 days prior was sideways sleet. Next week will warm up. Yay!

Shifts in weather this time of year is hard on the plants. Hope the garlic is okay!

Give Brady a pet for me!

        1. Yes, snow all day. It was odd after a week of early summer type weather. The climate’s weather patterns have changed.
Perhaps you’ll get a blizzard soon?

    1. Robbie”s cats and all the animals she photographs, draws and writes about are wonderful. Yes.. charm… the animals charm us with their innate characteristics.

      Big hugs to you, Eddie!

    1. Understood! Yet, charn should be a word. I quite like it. Something meaning …like charm + hard work like churning butter. 🌺

    1. Thank you, Merril!

I know! Robbie’s creative output is prolific.

The real crazy thing is that this is all on top of a regular job and general survival.

      Have a great weekend!

    1. Hello Kymber. I was just over at your blog. It might be my first time commenting, so is waiting for approval. However, if not please check that I did not go into your Spam! xo

Great post, Resa. I love Robbie’s cats and wildlife images and videos. Her paintings are wonderful, she bakes fantastic theme cakes, and her miniatures are works of art. She is so talented.

    1. Tim,

Robbie is quite amazing. I know, I love the cats, too.

I wonder how our spoiled house cats would act if they saw one of their large cousins?

Anyway, she works a full time career, and still finds time to all of these creative projects. If she could bottle her energy and sell it, she’d make a fortune. xxx

  3. This is an outstanding post reflecting Robbie’s creative talent, Resa. It is rare to wake up and see a post featuring two of the most creative women on the planet. Thank you so much, and congratulations to you and Robbie.
    🐂🐂🐂🐂

    1. Thank you dear John!

I’m honoured that you put me a category with Robbie.

I do consider myself a creative, and my Art Gowns are making a statement about repurposing and recycling and beauty coming from what we consider trash.

I’ll take a leap here.. If humans did a better job at utilizing resources and controlling trash output, animals would be in a better position.

Thank you for your wonderful comment! Adore you!

      🐂 🐂 🐂 🐂

  4. I didn’t realize you had a “Wednesday” cat like me! I’ll have to send a pic of her in the comments. She’s that same multi-colored beautiful creature as your cat, complete with a little Picasso mustache.

Cats both large and small are always the answer to the soul. They’re here to let us know who rules this earth, and no matter how big and bad we ever pretend to be, we’re never going to catch up to their mystical powers.

Love the everything about this post Resa.

    1. Well, you are so lucky to have such a beautiful cat. Wednesday cat? From the Adams Family?
The opening cat is Robbie’s cat.
I must say, I’ve always wanted one of these kind of cats.
Alas, my Jeep is white with a few black spots. She’d have great cammo in a herd of Holsteins.
I love her beyond words, bossy though she may be.
Thing is; cats keep showing up at my back door, and they are always black and white.
Pupkin (rip) showed up at the back door of my car. He was ginger. That is the only exception.

I completely agree with you about cats. They are the best, and they do rule.”Dogs have owners. Cats have staff”.

Robbie’s pics of big cats are fabulous, and she has a message to go with them.
      Love our animals!

      Thank you, Marc!
      MUAH!

                1. Geez!
I’m starting to think pretty much every animal is endangered. 😢
Humans’ have wracked a lot of havoc.
The rat might be the only safe animal left?

      1. My sister had fostered her and my niece named her Wednesday, after the Addams Family character. We kept it because it fits.

Cats know who to trust. They’re very particular about that but when they know, they know.

Haha! I have to remember that one.

Love them all. Respect them all.

        MUAH!

    1. Hi Diana, I am good at creative thinking and tasks. My job requires out the box thinking so I’m good at it. I’m not good at sport and I have no sense of direction. I always think people are good at things that interest them.

    2. Thank you, Diana!

Yes, I adore Robbie and her animals. She creating up a storm to spread the word, not just about the fact of their existence, but their impending demises. Hugs!

  13. Resa, your wonderful post here is a true celebration of the friendship and community here on WP! 1. Thank you dear Thunder!

Yes, we do have s0me things in common for sure.

I just had to help spread her message about our animals, and their plight.

One cannot assume everyone knows, or even if they do know, that it has struck a chord.

      xoxoxox

        1. It’s great that people are responding positively by being enthusiastic.

Maybe people are so busy just living and surviving, they don’t have time to look around and see what our living and surviving is doing to other creatures on the planet?

      1. Yes! Actually, my wife has holidays, I, as a pensioner, have always holidays!🤓 Lol! Anyway, it’s been a few days now and tomorrow we will be back. 🤗💥🌹
