Night Owl

Owls are largely nocturnal hunters.

They might hunt from a tree like my tree (aka Resa’s Tree), which lives on Tim’s Magic Tree Sanctuary

However, I found this owl in the daytime.

You’ll notice no owls in my daytime tree!

This owl is actually sitting on rocks by porch steps.

As day closes…

My tree awaits.

    1. Thank you, John!
I was smitten when I saw it. This is the second piece I have found by MOI. Terrific artist!
      🐂 🐂 🐂 🐂

  1. What a fantabulous owl, Sorceress! And your tree is the most sexy of the bunch in Tim’s special “orchard” of glamourous trees.

    1. This owl just appeared up the street one day.
Hahaha on me. I went across town to find a painting of Gordon Lightfoot (for you actually). There were construction boards all around where it should have been. I was P’d.
Then I came back, and there was this owl.

I know! My tree is Miss Treemerica! Fortunately, I was the second person to pick a tree. I noticed someone had a tree, and I was like okay… I need a tree!
Tim sent me pics of all the trees. I took my time. Of course one look at the Tangle-Heart, and any fool would know that was for Holly!
      xox⚡️💥oxo

      1. Awww, you did? How sweet are you? And that blows to go out of your way to see something and then be blocked. Grrr
And hey, the owl is wonderful so, it’s a win.

Your tree is fantabulous!!! You have the besterest and well, Tangle Heart, duh, Who else could get that one? No, I think you have the one that works best for you, Sorceress.
        xoxo 🧚‍♀️🌟oxox

        1. And…It looks like a Sorceress conducting a symphony of magic.
Still, wish I could have got that GL art for you!
I’ll find a Thunder special for you one day.
(closing in on the home stretch!) xoxoxo

I love this beautifully painting of a Barn Owl. It’s not at all strange that it would perched on rocks while hinting. The owls do hangout in your tree at night. I believe I have photos of an owl in your tree, but I don’t remember when I took the photos to find them.

    1. Agree, it’s a stunning painting.
No worries! There will be owls in my tree at night again.
I’m excited to see my tree budding! I hope it’s a good cotton year! xx

  3. Owls are something out of a folk tale, only real! I remember having a “run in” with a barn owl in an Amish barn of a neighbor back in the day. I walked in and there he was, staring me down. I stared back in awe and it was a moment. This reminds me of that moment.

It was several moments actually. LOL

    1. Owls are definitely mystical.
On top of that …an Amish Owl…
They can stare you down. I had a stare down with a hawk once, so I sort of know what you’re talking about.

Perhaps that moment was what led to your witty’n’wise intelligence?

      Could be!

      1. They are. Mystical is the word I was looking for.

An Amish owl. That farm was a very interesting place to roam.

Hawks are amazing. To watch them high up in the sky is one thing. But on our level, wow.

        You so sweet.

        MUAH!

        1. Mystical Amish Owl.

My step father took us to the Hutterite colony, where he did business. It freaked me out.
I was 10-12. The girls I “Played” with were 16-18, and all married or about to be. They all had grade 6 education, and that was that!!!

A big sobering up for a pubescent girl.

          MUAH!

  4. Owls are great, and this is a great painting of one. It has a lot of personality. I hope Tim can find a photo of an owl in your tree 🙂

    1. Tim’s owls are gorgeous. There are 2 more now. So, even if he doesn’t find the pics, there will more photo owlps in the future. 🙂

  5. She is a beauty and looks so concentrated, waiting for a prey I suppose.

I often wander around in the large park of Nymphenburg Castle in the west part of Munich, visiting the little brown owls who have their caves in large old trees there. They are so cute!

Have a fine week, dear Resa.

    1. Yes, waiting for prey.

Little brown owls sound adorable. Do you ever take pics of them?

You have a terrific week too, Martha!

  6. Wonderful! My parents saw 2 large hawks on a tree recently and wow were they amazed by it. I wish I had been there with them! And I would love to see this owl art in person too!

  7. And some few speak of magic in a scouting sort of way. Perish the thought.

If owls you like, there’s even secular charm. That post image I used for “another future possible” recently – those are from owl pellets if you catch the drift.

    Nice job Resa as always.

  8. Majestic🦉💚🌖 As you have seen I am obsessed with that aurora borealis green color rn. Owls are aMazing creatures, aren’t they? I could look for hours. Within the heart face there are so many other animals’ faces contained.

    1. I’m not obsessed, but I’m fond of that colour and find I use it a fair bit in my art.. which is mostly fashion sketches … mostly gowns.

Yes, the owl’s face has an omnipresence.

  9. An interesting name, “Moi”, for an artist. The Owl looks alive and, as one expects, watching the world wisely; excellent! I guess she would come by your tree once upon a time! Great catch, lovely friend.🤙🤗💖🦉

    1. Thank you! Yes Moi… Me!
Wh knows, perhaps it is the person’s initials –
Finding this owl made my day.
      💖🦉💖🦉💖🦉💖🦉

    1. Thank you, Lauren!
I’m so lucky! Happy to have a tree and find an owl. Pretty good for a die hard city slicker!
      xoxoxoxo

        1. Okay, now this is just too kind.
OMG! You have made me feel ubermentally special.
What other words can I invent to describe your kindness, dear Lauren?
          Kweenuvnicely
          Beautilicious
          Difinevine
          Mushtrocity
          Blogivlorious
          Hugmobilious.
          lol!
          Thank you!
          💖💐💞🌺💓🌷

          1. Omg! You’re so funny! What’s really funny is that I was thinking about reblogging one of your posts, and then like magic, you showed up in my inbox! I truly am fascinated with owls so it was serendipitous! And I turned off comments because I wanted everyone to see you. I hope they do!
            Hugmobilious to you too!
            🤗🤗🤗
            You are so welcome!

  10. How beautiful ! Few creatures are more beautiful and mystical as the Owl. I’d love to have that at my doorstep. Thank you darling Resa. Such a gorgeous mural. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

    1. Thanks about the photos Eddie! I love the owl too! It was a terrific surprise, as it was not there 2 days before.
      Owlhugs!

    1. It just gets better out in the streets every day, Diana! Makes me want to walk, and I need to! Lol!
Okay, just mailed you 2 Catlings! Yikes!

    1. Thank. you, Cindy! How cool, owl finger puppets. You seem to have a blast with your grands.
Tim’s tree is my fave non possession, possession. 💓💓💓

  11. Hi Resa, what a great owl and I like your reference to Timothy’s bird sanctuary. He shares some magnificent owl pictures. I’ve made two lots of owls from fondant. I think one of the owl pictures was in one of the Sir Chocolate books but I’ll have to check.

    1. I was looking for a Gordon Lightfoot mural (it’s vanished) when I found this.
      I adore it!
I flipped through the Sir Chocolate books I have, but didn’t find an owl. Of course I don’t have all the books.
The fondant art is just wonderful, Robbie. It was great to see the many animals again, and the bees are adorable!!
I didn’t find a cat art yet, but I did find a wolf.
I’ve still got several posts before I do the one for you, so I might still find one!
      Okay, hope all is great!

      1. Hi Resa, I will post the owls for you. They are rather fun. A wolf sounds super cool. No wolves here but I do enjoy them. No rush for the post, I appreciate that you are considering doing one 💖. I have been soooooo busy at work and it will continue until the end of March.

  12. A beautiful owl at any time day or night, Resa! Nice to see this one lets you get right up next to it lol. The ones we have around here tend to be more reclusive, but they are always welcome sights.🦉

    1. I can’t remember ever seeing an owl in real life. I can be happy with this one, and all the owls in the world. I hope humans treat them well. 🦉🦉x

  13. Resa, wow! Thank you so much for sharing this owl with us! It has such a gentle and wise expression and actually looks even better at night, when owls are usually out and about! Do you just happen upon these murals as you are out or do people let you know about them? I have the feeling the city must be one giant art gallery! 😀

    1. Thanks Annika! I adore this owl.
Yes, in some ways Toronto is an outdoor art gallery. I literally just go for walks and try to find art.
Sometimes I’ll take public transit to another end/side of the city, and walk around there.
I never come home completely empty handed, and sometimes I hit a jackpot.

I found 5 great ones yesterday, and 3 so/so. It took an hour on public transport each way, then 1.5 hours walking around.
      I love it!!! 😀

      1. Resa, this sounds like a lot of fun and what a city! I honestly can’t think of anywhere like that in the U.K. – but we do have lots of old buildings! 😀Congratulations on the jackpot day yesterday and look forward to seeing them in your future posts!

  14. I love that owl! How cool to see it every time you go in or out. I love the nighttime glow. And the tree is beautiful and magical, too. Thanks for sharing, Resa!

    1. The owl is stunning & the street artists just get better and better.
It’s kinda crazy, but they need the streets to showcase their talent.
As I’ve been searching for a venue, it has become evident that the art scene in Toronto is lacking… both in originality and venues.
      My tree is fabulous!
It’s a joy to share. Thank you, Merril!

    1. I love the owl, too! It made my day when I found it!

Sorry for the late reply. Sometimes I just can’t stay caught up.

      Sending hugs to you, Teagan!!

  15. gorgeous. Absolutely gorgeous. Your tree will get her owl.
in the meantime we can admire this owl by the front stairs. Beautiful.

(Lauren sent me here. She’s so sweet. And so are you. Xoxo)

    lovely post. Thanks.

    1. Thank you Selma!
Yes, Lauren is a lovely person. I am smitten by her beautiful poetry.
Thank you for popping over, and for your kind words!
      xoxo

  16. A spectacular photo collection, Resa, that captures the essence of mystery and wisdom that surround owls. Their mysterious nocturnal habits and symbolic significance in different cultures add to their allure. (I read that owls are connected to Athena) Your post reminded me of my favourite Pooh character, Owl.

“And if anyone knows anything about anything,” said Bear to himself,
“it’s Owl who knows something about something,” he said, “or my name’s not Winnie-the-Pooh,” he said. “which it is,” he added. “so there you are.” A.A. Milne, Winnie-the-Pooh

I love coming to your space!!! Sending hugs!

      1. Yes… and soon my tree will burst cotton. I hope it’s a good year for it.
Your bamboo will be happening soon, and it’s splendid.
Even the dead trees (Tangle-Heart) are beautiful. He has the best spot!

    1. Thank you, Rebecca! What a cool quote.
I adore owls, and you know, Ive never seen one in real life.
      Tim has owls, though. Yayayay!!!!!
      Hugs!!
