Dear John II

Good Afternoon, Agent 00 toon!

We have a situation in the alleys. Bugs has been sent in undercover.

He’s discovered a lot of dissent amongst the cartoon world. Seems you’ve been playing faves, with Looney Tunes. Other cartoon franchises have become agitated.

Rover Dangerfield feels he has no respect. Perhaps he should have a chat with Wile E. Coyote? He gets no respect, and he’s a Looney Tune!

The other cartoons feel like they’re being driven off a cliff. Again, they should speak with Wile E. Being driven off a cliff is all in a days work.

Still, protest and defiance grows. Darkwing Duck is demanding “more paint” to paint more Disney Characters!

Me, I’m hiding out in a crazy black and white mural.

I’m not pink, so no one will spot me, and I’ve got a great vantage point.

Oh No! Boris Badenov is about to throw a fusion bomb!!!  All  animals  and  humans  will be fused with cartoons. No one will be spared if they enter the alley!

Anyone with  half  a brain  is  fleeing.

I repeat; half a brain!!!!

IT’S TOO LATE!

Poor guys never stood a chance!  Agent 00 toon, I trust you’ll take care of this situation?!

Your mission is to restore order to the lanes & alleys!

        1. Hope you haven’t painted yourself into a blog corner! I have a feeling Sam is perfectly happy in his safe, in your yard.
Perhaps the Tasmanian Devil could eat the safe? ox ox ox

                    1. Oh, I like goats. I suppose I could squeeze one into the yard, with the 4🐂en. Hmmm, will it eat my pot plants, tomatoes, etc.? xo

                    2. Thanks…. my ass might be enough to take with me! Why is there no ass emoji? For crying out loud, there’s a pile of poo emoji.
                      💋💋💋💋💋💋💋💋💋💋💋 (OX is now #2)

                    4. OMG! I’ll have to get an ass istant to help me herd the 🐂en through the alleys.
Perhaps I can make a few extra bucks selling manure?
(I refuse to use the poo emoji!)
                      I’ll take a shovel!

[she’s also a looney tune fan!]

    1. Thank you, dahling, just having some fun!
I get a kick out of John’s Saturday Prompts with the cartoon characters.
I know, poor Wile E. Coyote. He’ll never catch that Roadrunner, no matter how many ACME products he orders! 😉 😂🤣😂🤣

  2. Reblogged this on Fiction Favorites and commented:
Resa McConaghy is a fabulous artist and clothing designer. She is also one with a whip-smart sense of humor. Her Dear John II post is not to be missed. While there take a look at all the other murals and beautiful clothes on display. Thank you so much, Resa. I loved this post and the dedication..

These are fantastic. I love the Loonies and The Pink Panther. The real Rodney Dangerfield was a riot. RD really cracks me up. So much fun.

    1. Thank you, Tim! These characters are usually small pieces in the alleys, not a whole post on their own. So, it’s fun to use them up, time to time.
Oh yes! Rodney Dangerfield always made me laugh.
Easy Money is my fave movie of his.

I’ve got a big mural coming up. Massive chunk of wall, and it starts with a Holly! Crazy how I keep finding murals that remind me of her.

      1. Timothy Price

Looking forward to when you drop the big one Holly is a multi-dimensional wonder. Rodney Dangerfield on Johnny Carson was always good for a lot of laughs.

I wish I could rattle off one liners like RD used to. I’m slow and forget the one liner halfway through. I’m pathetic when it comes to stand-up comedy and remembering jokes.

  4. The Pink Panther music goes perfectly with this tour down memory lane. Although it should be noted…Homer Simpson is still alive and well and has not been sentenced to Only Seen In Reruns World just yet. Resa, thanks for being our “not-so-secret” agent uncovering these. A fun post, especially to start the week out!

    1. Lol! It was fun.
You know, you’re saddled with the dudes. John is saddled with Looney Tunes characters.
My cat bosses me around like crazy.
      …. just saying….

    1. Welcome!
I mostly want to have fun, Harmony, and this blog helps me do just that!
Lol, I also get good exercise walking around finding street art! 💕🙂

  5. Another fantastic collection of characters you have corralled! These take me back to a time when I used to scribble out pictures of Bugs, Daffy and co when I was a kid. I started out with pencil sketches then I progressed to using Berol Magnum permanent markers when I got the hang of each Toon. Think I’ll have to dig my pen and paper out again….🤔

    1. Crazy, but some people grew up and still like drawing cartoons, so they do it in the alleys.
Yeah! Have fun drawing…. without the computer.
      Novel idea!
I liked drawing The Flintstones when I was a kid!lad you enjoyed the post!

    1. Yes, I’m always amazed by how many artists like to paint cartoons on alley walls. Anyway, it’s great to have a reason to use up some of my vast collection.
NOW, the next post is an original mural, and it’s massive. It is stunning, gorgeous and magnificent.
I was beside myself when I found it in an alley about 1.5 miles from me.
      Eeeeee! 💙

  6. This is a fun and wonderful post. Dedicated to one of my favorite authors and filled with friends from my childhood who have held my affection for over 60 years. I could wander in this alley all day.

    1. Thank you!
Yes, it is a lot of fun. I adore these toons.
John woke up my memories and laughs, with his Saturday Prompt posts.
I have wandered these alleys, and others, for 10 years.
      It’s exploring.

  7. That was so fun, Resa. You created a wild art-story. I’m a big fan of Wile E and the Roadrunner. I watched those cartoons as a kid, then with my daughter, and then with my grandson! Three generations of ACME explosions and falling off cliffs. 🙂

    1. Love ACME!
Love the way Wile E. keeps on trying, never gives up.
It was lots of fun making this post!
Hoping for 4 generations of ACME explosions and falling off cliffs…. of course then a boulder has to fall on top of Wile E. once he’s hit bottom. lolol

  8. Oh Sorceress! You are absolutely, fantabulously, immensely creative and brilliant! This was so much fun… Who better to dedicate it to than John? So good.

  9. Oh wow Res, what a clever post. Loved the story you created from those amazing murals. Some of the names were hilarious – Rover Dangerfield. And who could forget Boris. Hey, where’s Natasha? LOL. A great compilation of some of the classics we grew up with. Hugs ❤ xxx

    1. Thanks Debby!
It was time for some fun. It’s interesting how many cartoons I find in the alleys. I have to think these cartoons have lasted the test of time. Artists are still drawing them.
      I wish I did find a Natasha!
      HUGS xoxo

    1. Thanks Trent!
It’s amazing how popular these old cartoons still are. Yes, some of the new street art is crazy wild.
The other animation I see in the alleys is anime.

    1. Thanks Lauren!
I didn’t take pics of cartoons on my street art walks, as a rule. Then I started reading John’s Saturday Prompt pieces, and the cartoons of my life came flooding back.
Now I grab the cartoons when I see them.
Good for a funny post every now and then!
      😘💞😘💞

  10. Hi Resa, what a cool collection of cartoon street art! Love that first Pink Panther rendition – the way he’s melting! Love Wile E Coyote, too (is it wrong for me to think when I watched him as a kid I sometimes wanted him to win against that pesky roadrunner??)
    Thanks for the share 😎

    1. Welcome! What a hoot doing this post was!
Glad you got to see it.
I wanted Wile E. to win sometimes too. I suppose the beauty is, he never does~
      xo
