If the pics are displayed in-line, Brian’s is always on the top, Toronto on the bottom. The Theme is between the images.

That’s great and wonderful streetart! I have a lot of awe and admiration for the artists!
Stay safe, dear Resa!
I share that admiration with you, Martha!
It’s win/win. The streets are made nicer to walk along and the artists get to showcase their work.
Take care, Martha! xxoo
Wonderful photos taken by both of you, and such gorgeous street art! It just shows how universal it is.
Thanks Merril!
Yes, art in the streets is everywhere. I love that. Humans need art(s), mind food.
You’re welcome, Resa!
I put some public art into this week’s musings.
I saw the spring mural. I love it. Hmm, did I miss something? I’ll check!
I checked.. I think that gorgeous spring mural is the only one. Still, the colourful leaves on wet brick look like a mural… like art!
Thank you very much!
If you click on the James Fuhrnan link(I spelled it wrong) link, you’ll see the sculptures and words that go with that quote. Not as pretty as the Spring mural, but interesting.
Thank you Merril. Resa had a wonderful idea to compare a selection of her collection with some of the pix I have taken over the years…
☆❦☆💙
You’re welcome!
This art absolutely pops off the (screen) page! Terrific photos of it, Resa!
Thanks Dave! All this art from all over the world feels good.
I had a blast doing up this post.
I can imagine, Resa!
Wonderful collection of street art and faces from around the world.
Brad! It was most generous of Brian to let me raid his images. He has a fab collection.

Fun and friendly. 😊
Yes!!
Thank you Brad. This was a wonderful idea. Resa is the pro, I’m just an amateur…

I too love the comparisons. They show how universal Street art is.
even more reasons to LOVE me some Toronto!
Yayay!!!
Thank you Annette! It’s a fab city, for sure. xx
Wow, I love the comparison and the way both street artists’ vibes and themes overlap! Two Heads are Better than One is very cool; I love the colors and sad yet hopeful expressions in their faces. I also enjoyed Pretty in Pink, as I love butterflies! There’s something beautiful and touching about it. Thanks for sharing this amazing street art with us! 🦋🌼🦋
You are so welcome, Ada!
I adore how everyone has their faves, and that you point yours out. Art Talk rocks.
I keep changing my mind, but that’s okay.
There’s always more art, and more faves.
🌹☆☆🌹
Glad you like the comparisons. When Resa told me of her project, I was very honoured, and I did wonder how she would write the post. It is perfect.
Yay! ❦☆
An amazing gallery here, Resa! I will come back to look closely when I’m using a better device than this little old tablet.
The art is a jewel box… a fridge full of food for the mind.
Thank. you, Audrey!
You’re welcome, Resa! And that’s a great metaphor!
Yay!!! ☆❦☆
You really hit the jackpot on this series of beautiful artwork. Fantastic post.
Thank you dear Tim!
It was a real fab time making this post! xo
Sorry I’m responding so late! I rely on that notifications thing too much… then find a bund of unanswered comments when I do my scroll check.
A feast of street art from my two favorite gatherers of fabulous street art! Thank you , dear Resa and Brian. I’m in love with Mexican art, adore “ Indigenous “ and if course, Friday ! They are fabulous, every one!
Thank you dear Holly Meece!
Yes, all this global art is quite exciting. So many amazing artists are making the world’s cities nicer… dare I say more beautiful?… to live in.
And Brian has a phenomenal collection. I’m thrilled he let me just pick and choose what I wanted.
I must say, this was one FUN post to make up.

It’s a delight for all who love and appreciate the amazing artists who brighten our world. Thank you for brightening mine!

Your pairing of the street art is amazing, Resa and Brian. Some outstanding artworks.
Thanks Robbie!
Yeah, it took awhile to gather up enough decent pairings, (over a year…here and there… now and then)- but once I did…it was a blast making the post.
☆🩷 🩷☆
Yes, I can imagine it took a while to do this matching.
☆❦☆
Thank you ever so much, dear Robbie. Resa’s pairing is incredible. (It shows how universal some street art can be…)
Cheers
I love all the street art! It makes the world better.
It does, doesn’t it?
100%
My pleasure, Brian. This post is incredible. I agree there are common threads throughout the world which is really fascinating. The differences and the commonalities are absorbing.
xx
Thank you Robbie. Absorbing it is.
🤗
😊💙
Fantastic artwork. Loved it. Wonderful post, Resa. Beautiful colors and design.
You are welcome Gi! I just love all this art! xxxxx
Thank you Gigi. Resa did a fantastic job. 👍🏻

Wow, these are spectacular, Resa!!!! Yay to you and Brian!!! Truly gorgeous and captured so well. Bravo you two.. take a bow!!! xxxxx
Thank you Cindy. Resa is so creative… (I look forward to reading your chapter in Yvette’s anthology!)
Yes, me too! I have the book, and have read a few chapters. I’m a turtle reader, so it is a perfect book for me.
🐢
Just wonderful, Resa!
Thanks Jennie! I just love street art.
You are welcome! As you said to me (which I will never forget), for those who can’t visit a museum, street art is there, and it’s great art.
Yes… I did say that. Thank you Jennie! Art is brain food.
You’re welcome. Yes, it is!
😌🙏
Very good point, Jennie. I hadn’t thought about it. Street art is a free museum out in the open. (And great art!)
❦☆
Exceptional street art and art photos paired together so well, Resa and Brian. The presentation here is wonderful, and both of you did a great job bringing all of this art to life here.
Thanks Bruce!
This post was a gas to make. I started gathering art from Brian’s site quite awhile ago, but needed to find a theme.
Faces it is!
I am thrilled you like this art!
xo
Thank you Bruce. Actually, I got into street art influenced by another blogger, a long while back. Now, I carry my phone with me all the time, just in case, a mural pops up.
Cheers
Me too! Just in case. You should see what I found today!
You haven’t posted it yet, have you?
No.. I am overwhelmed by street art.
It’s the season here.
I was back in that alley today, and the artist was doing details. LOL… his name is Alejandro, he is a Mexican artist and it is a very Mexican themed mural. Stunning.
I took pics of him painting it.
I also met another young artist painting. He’s just coming along, and can’t get enough of alley painting. BIG HUGS … he kept hugging and hugging me. I’ll do a piece on him over the winter.
So there is a season after the summer, sort of “back to school”, and before winter?
🤗🤗🤗
There is a lot to take in with these comparison images between Brian and Toronto!!
Yes… you are right Liz.
All this art is such a groove. This post makes me happy!
Thank you for checking it out!
My pleasure, Resa!
Thank you Liz. Resa did a superb job. I love those comparisons.
You’re welcome, Brian.
Stunning! Thank you, Resa! ❤️❤️❤️

Resa, this is such a cool, fun way to do a post! And so many fabulous murals! Kudos to you both. Hugs. 🤗
Thank you Teagan. This was a great experience.
I am a huge pop art fan so that was an easy one for me, I love it very much. And how did you do that thing with the comparisons? I loved being able to push the image to the left and right in order to see the entire thing. That’s cool stuff.
And okay, If I HAD to choose between Face and Bird and Indigenous, I would definitely go with BOTH.
Bravo to Brian! Brava to you, lovely Resa!
Thank you so much. For a pop art fan, you must found a lot. The first image is very much a Lichtenstein inspiration. And a mural I love in the South of Paris.
Love Lichtenstein. You’re brilliant!
It’s a beauty!
Resa and Brian, what an extraordinary collaboration! There is so much to explore here, and I love the idea of bringing street art from different parts of the world into conversation with Toronto’s murals. Street art gives us a profound way to understand the communities in which it is created. Murals can tell us about local history and the people who share those public spaces. What I like best is that street art becomes part of everyday life.
A brilliant post. Thank you both for bringing these different artistic voices together. Art is a wonderful way to travel the world.
Thank you Rebe. Resa did all the work! And her pairing is brilliant.
I agree with you about understanding. And I would go one step more (“One step beyond” as Madness would sing…) Street art allows us to understand better today’s world, and maybe a bit of tomorrow’s. The themes (Frida is one. Preserving the environement.) The styles. The colours. After Modern Art’s deconstruction of Art in the 20th century, we are witnessing the New Art on the street.
Take care
Oooo! I like this theory. I feel so Avant Garde!
Haha! You are.
You too! xx
So very well said, Brian!!!
Thank you Rebe. 🤗
Those comparison sliders are great. Perfect for the purpose. I really like the face on the right at the top of the post–the one with the black lace hat. That must have taken a lot of fiddly work!
Yes, the sliders are perfect for this presentation.
And that hat is a gas. It’s on a garage door about 10 blocks from me. I still remember how thrilled I was to find it.
Thank you for the visit, Audrey and for your lovely comment!
Amazing street art!
Thanks Dan!
I love the street art.
Thank you Dan.
Oh wow Res, what a fascinating collection! I especially love face art. And don’t get me started with Frida! 😋😂🤣💜💜❌❌
Ahh… yes Frida! ☆ 🩷 🩷 ☆
Hey… I thought of you the other day. I was at the intersection where Honest Ed’s used to be.
OMG… not pretty. A real cash-in by the son. I took a few pics… It is actually cold… windy… desolate in a way. I’ll get back to you on that.
XOXOXO 🩷 🩷 🩷 🩷
Wow, so sad. Okay, you got me curious. Maybe it should be a post? xoxo
XOXO
Yes.. I was thinking of a post.
Let me go back, take a few more pics and come up with an angle! I will also visit out other Honest Ed’s post.
XOXO
Yay! I’ll be here when you are. 💜❌⭕❌
YAY!! ☆❦☆💙
PS.. I’ll be by soon. I have an old friend visiting from Holland. Last day tomorrow. xxx
Enjoy your time!!! xox

I have found Frida in many countries. All the way down to Indonesia. She is a universal theme. Talent, resilience, staying alive… I live in Mexico, and it’s always a treat to find her in a remote corner of the world…
❦☆
I agree. She was a legend! 🙂
This is wonderful, Resa. Many thanks. I’ll come back tomorrow for a more detailed view. (And answers.)
XO sounds good…
I’ve just gone back to your post. A wonderful collection a comparison. Bravo Resa. 👏🏻
Thanks Brian!
We make a great team when it comes to street art! XO
We do. One might add another thought: Street Art combines contemporary Art, themes, styles, colours, etc. with one single very important factor: It’s free. No museum ticket nor millions of dollars paid by a billionaire who probably doesn’t even understand what he’s bought.
Beauty for free…
👏🏻
Absolutely!
It’s the people’s art gallery.
This city looks fabulous thanks to street art. What a fabulous art movement.
xo
True on both counts.
And I hadn’t thought about that: it is a movement, just as Cubism was. Thanks for the thought, Resa.
Thanks for your thoughts! xx
Wow!
YEAH! ♡ ✰ ❁
It is fabulous, as always, my dear friend. This time, your comparison images make for a beautiful display, though I may not be quite fit enough to take in all these beautiful artworks.
However, Brian’s images look very original, and I should add that I prefer Jane Birkin to Madonna, if that is who you meant!
Yes Jane Birkin. I will correct that spelling, thank you!!!
It was fun doing the comparisons.
Be well!
xoxo 💫😌🙏
That’s amazing and wonderful; thank YOU! 💖🙏🥰
🤗💕🤗💕🤗💕
Resa did a fantastic job with those comparisons. Bravo!
xx
Indeed! 😊
xx🤗💕
A wonderful post, Resa. And I am very much honoured to be featured here. My favourites of yours: Madonna, Face & birds, Asian Beauty.
I’m in your debt…
Hugs
LOL.. not in my debt, but I will be around in the future to steal more art. This was fun.
HUGS
That would be great. “Steal” at leisure. 😉
Hugs back.
🤗💕
Lol… the lounging thief! 🤗💕
Ohhh I LOVE this Global Street Art vs Toronto Street Art post… thanks Resa and Brian for this most fascinating and beautiful collab! 😍
The Paris Paste-ups are unique, so cool, and creative! Is Jane Birkin the inspiration and namesake for the iconic HERMES’ Birkin bag? That Madonna image is iconic!
Frida Kahlo wearing a Daft Punk t-shirt is a mood; I love that!
Props to all the wonderful and talented artists!! You really made me appreciate street art even more, Resa!!
⊹₊˚‧꧁⎝ 𓆩༺XOXOXOXO༻𓆪 ⎠꧂‧˚₊⊹
You are welcome, Ruth! This post was a blast to make.
Yes, the Birkin Bag is named after Jane Birkin. The tale begins with her sitting next to the Hermes CEO on an air flight.
Daft Punk was (maybe still are?) a punk band in Toronto.
Aww… yay! Street art is the people’s art!
꧂💙꧁ ❦༺★༻❦ ꧂💙꧁
Miss Birkin was so gorgeous, it’s no wonder Hermes CEO was transfixed by her.
I think Daft Punk is a French duo, not Canadian. Sadly they officially disbanded on February 2021. I LOVE their music for the TRON movie!
Yes, the people’s art. Like you always say… make art not war 🎨
⊹₊˚‧꧁⎝ 𓆩༺❥ ❣ ❦ ❧༻𓆪 ⎠꧂‧˚₊⊹
Yes, she was lovely, and controversial at the time. Now… no big deal
Ooooo TRON! That’s where they’re from. Thank you!

Fantastic post, Resa! I love how you bring street art from Toronto and around the world together. Each piece has its own personality, yet they all speak a wonderfully universal language. Beautifully presented!
Thank you so very much, Mihran!
Yes, it is the universal language that inspired me to do this post.
I love art in the streets. It is the people’s gallery. xx
I listened to a radio interview this morning with Sloan Bouchever who shows graffiti art at his Artemizia Foundation in Bisbee, Arizona. He mentioned the incredible generosity of graffiti artists sharing their art on walls so everyone can appreciate their beauty. This post reminds me of that generosity. So much exquisite beauty being shared. Thank you, Resa and Brian for collecting and posting these artistic creations!
Oh, thank you Cheyenne, I will check out Sloan Bouchever!
I agree about graffiti artists. I adore street art. It’s the people’s gallery!
It was such a blast going through Brian’s art and figuring out. this post. Yahoo!
Wonderful collaboration. Beautiful artwork.
Thanks Gi! Lots of fun doing this post!

Great selection of art. Brian is wonderful. Good on you for choosing some of his stuff. Cheers.
Thank you!
Cheers to you!
Thank you Jenny. (When are you coming back to blogging? We miss you!)
It’s hard to find the time and energy. I would like to post about Wyoming and Scotland soon though. Maybe I need to take a day off and just do that…
“Just do it!” 😉
Ohh… I was going to visit the site. Maybe she is blogging again?
(I’m trying to push her on blogging again!) 😉
Yes!
A wonderful combination
Thank you Derrick.
Thank you Derrick!
It was a lot of fun stealing pics from Brian! 😉😄
Glad of the reblog or I’d have missed the original… Been looking after the grandies this week…. Wonderful pieces. From EVERYWHERE.
Thank you. Resa did a wonderful combination. (Grandies do take a bit of time. Delicious time!)
YES! Important time.
Lucky Grandies!
No worries, here or not, I know you love me and I love you!

I agree, all the art is wonderful!
There are some remarkable artworks here, Resa. What an inspired idea to combine like this with Brian xx
Thank you Jo. Resa is inspired… Always. 😉

Thanks Jo!
Well, I like some of the art by different artists, ones whose work I haven’t seen here, so I originally thought I would just share a collection of Brian’s pics with followers over here.
Then, as I gathered up some of his pics of art, I started to see themes with mine.
It sure was fun doing this post.
xx
Beautiful art! This was an awesome collaboration with Brian. Well done!
Agree! The art is wonderful, Brian is a gem and I am thrilled you got to see this. Thank you!
You’re so welcome!
Brian has a knack for finding some of the most amazing street art ever, and you have put it together beautifully ~ 🌷
Thank you, Dalo! It is lots of fun blogging with Brian! ❦
Toronto vs. The World !?! Well my money’s on your town, girl. But I’d love to see how the committee of qualified judges determines this. Matchup by matchup. I’ll be checking the comments👀🤼🎨👏
