    1. Agree Tim, Daisy is adorable. I fell for her at first sight. It’s a great day if I find 1 fab piece of street art. I found 2 on the Daisy day! She was good luck.xx

    1. Yes, simple but effective can be difficult to achieve in art, even in books I think.

Thanks about my pics, Dave! I so enjoy taking them.

  1. Daisy is absolutely wonderful, Sorceress! I love how the black and white pops because of the colourful background.

She looks like she is contemplating her next move but not quite sure about herself just yet.

And Tom Petty is always a win in my book – especially this song for this piece of art.

    1. Daisy is a quiet Thunder.

I agree, she does have expression written on her. She’s not just another pretty face.

I discovered Tom Petty in the late 90’s. He’s amazing!

      xoxoxoxoxo

      1. I like that. She is quiet Thunder.

Oh definitely has much to say.

He was one of Mick’s faves and we listened to him often.

        xoxoxoxo

  2. She does stand out in the black and white. I like how she is framed. She looks sad to me, and I wonder about the bunny ears. Maybe she’s stuck in a life she doesn’t want.

    1. Agree!
I wonder about the bunny ears, too?
A lot has to do with did a female paint it, or did a male paint it?
Is Daisy the artist, or is Daisy the name of some guy’s wanna be love/sex fantasy.

It’s because Daisy is on the hand, like where some guy would get a tattoo, (yes, a girl could too) instead of signed outside the image.

      I opt for – it’s a female artist, but I don’t know.

Anyway, it is thought evoking and proving in its simplicity.
      I’m crazy about Daisy!

        1. Hopefully I will find more bits by this artist, and come to some answer.

I notice new artists’ works emerging. Some of the old faves are making $$ doing murals in restaurants, and on patios.
A few have had real art shows.
Some are travelling the world getting paid to do extravaganza murals in big cities.

I watched a couple of young guys throwing up burners. They were so proud that they were being noticed, and that I raved about their work.

            1. I agree! It’s hard to be in the arts. There’s that old saying… You could make a killing, but it’s hard to make a living.

Is there a word for a class of women in the 1700’s who were not poor peasants, but not blue bloods?
I guess what would be upper class, but not royalty?

              1. It is really hard to make a living in the arts. My daughter’s voice teacher in high school encouraged anyone who planned to study voice/music to also get a teaching degree.

As far as the term, it depends where and who they were. What country? Maybe the term you want is gentry? Just below nobility. Or in the American colonies gentry were the large, wealthy landowners. People in the middle might be called “middling.” Artisans could be rich or poor. I’m not sure what you’re looking for.

                1. 1700’s Europe. Italian, English & French. Most are French.

It’s for a “Making Her Mark” post. None of the artists have a royal title.
All of the paintings are of women who look well off, but are not a person of royalty.
Those portraits always say Marquesa, Contessa, etc.
I say well off as they are depicted enjoying drawing, or painting or are very well groomed for their portrait with complicated hair-dos.
One is a mother with a baby and there is what appears to be the wet nurse in the painting.

                  I’m looking for a title.

When I do the women who have titles, I can say “Royal Women” or “Female Nobility” or Titled or …

But I don’t know what to call these other women.

    1. Yes, Daisy is delightful!
      x🌼x🌼🐭🐭x🌼x🌼
I loved singing that song when I was a kid.

Okay, my Emmy noms are in, I’ve got sewing piled, and I’m back on the Sad Cafe Drawings! ❦🌹

        1. Yes, it’s Emmy time! I got all my nominations done. Now to see who actually gets nominated on July 15.
Then the real work begins in August. I have to watch all the noms I haven’t seen, then vote.

Thing is, usually only about 1/10th of the noms are shows I’ve already seen.

Ever since streaming, it’s been a LOT more work.
          xoxoxoxoxoxoxo

                1. Yes, I can see that.
I wouldn’t want to be in the US and have skin any other colour than white.
                  xoxoxo🐭🐭xoxoxo

                    1. Yes…
I worry that Iran is now low on weaponry, so will use terrorists embedded in the US and around the world to punish.

It seems the way of man: power, hate, need to dominate, eradicate peoples and religions, territory take overs and other b$$$$.
Much is religious based, but money is as equal.

                    2. We need to end the patriarchy’s. That will never happen. I saw a video of an Iranian woman complaining about the treatment if women over there, how hard it is to get a divorce. She was stuffing her face while talking.
There’s a woman here , in Georgia. She died of a brain embolism. The hospital kept her on life support for months because she was pregnant and the abortion laws prohibit them letting her go. Her family pleaded, imagine the anguish of visiting your dead daughter in that horrific state. They finally delivered the baby by c section after months of waiting and let her go. This kind of horrifying stuff is happening every day.
Women’s rights are being eroded here like never before.
We probably are not treated much better than the women over there.

    1. Awww, thank you Graham!

        1. It’s Friday?
What happened to Wednesday and Thursday?
          Well, ʁεşα says

          to you, too!

          (beautiful emoji line-up, Graham!)

    1. Yes, she looks like she has mixed feelings. It is a piquing work of art, for sure.
You stay safe too, dear Martha! ❦❦

  3. So simple, yet beautiful! Her eyes and expression can’t help but pull you in! Also love the pink outline and colors in the background, all of which maker her stand out! Thanks for sharing! 💜🌸🎨

    1. Agree, the colours are fabulous, and the pink outline is a gentle aura.
So happy you got to see his, Ada!
Thank you for the lovely comment! 🌹❦🌹❦

    1. Yes, she does look a little lost now that you mention it, Jan. It’s a simple piece, but there have been a lot of interpretations.

    1. Thank you dahlin’!

It really is a simple, but brilliant piece.
I don’t know if Daisy is the artist? That’s why the ?
It could be a guy who has a crush on a Daisy, and her name is like a tattoo.
Many other thoughts. It is quite a thought provoking image.

Perhaps I will find more by this artist, and the mystery will clear.

  4. Oh Resa – you have found another treasure. Daisy is like a hidden poem painted in plain sight. A black-and-white wildflower blooming in the vivid chaos of Graffiti Alley feels like a quiet act of rebellion and grace. And that mysterious “506” above… a number, a signal, a story waiting to be found. Always exciting to stop by!!! Sending hugs.

    1. How poetically said, Rebecca.
Yes, she is a poem in the middle of chaos. She really got to me.

I consider it a great day if I find 1 fab piece of art when I go for a walk.
Daisy made it a great day!

  5. What a find, Resa! I adore Daisy too, the simple B/W painting is so striking. I was struck by her melancholic eyes, so expressive. It makes me wonder what she could be thinking.

    Love you and your work! ❤ ❦ ♡ ♥ 💔

    1. I did miss this!

Daisy is a fab piece. So simple…so effective.

Yes, I try to keep up with comments by using the message annotator in the upper right.

It is not fool proof, and I do try to go through comments to see if I missed someone, before I post another article.

It’s great that you mentioned it, as you could be in my Spam.

Thanks Ruth! I love your work, too!

       ❦ ♡ ♥ XOXOXO

        1. Thanks Gi!
No walking and looking for art starting tomorrow. It’ going to be hell for a few days! ❦🌹❦❦❦🌹

            1. Yeah.. xoxo
We ate the last pie. It was a cherry pie.
              I am now collecting fruits.
So far I have frozen strawberries for 3 pies, blueberries for 1 pie, and cherries for 1 pie.

  6. It is a beautiful, authentic black-and-white daisy and simply lovely; thank you, dear Resa, for this gift. Simplicity is a profound matter, as Jung says:
“In character, in manners, in style, in all things, the supreme excellence is simplicity.”

    👍🙏🫶🥰

    1. I agree with what Jung says.
Finding this was like finding fresh air!

      xo🌼🌟❦❦🧚‍♀️xo

PS Hope you are well in this time of healing and turmoil!

  7. This is a lovely find, Resa. So many subtle emotions captured in that simply drawn face. It was brilliant of the artist to outline her in pink to help set it off from the background. Thanks for the music too. I didn’t know that Tom Petty song. Hugs from the Scoobies and me to you and Misha.

  8. A lovely mural, Resa. I like her simplicity too amidst the chaos of color. She looks a little down though. Does she lament her simplicity, or wish there was more of it?

    1. Nor sure of the message, but it/she is saying something.
It’s a wonderful piece of art, and in spite of her down look, she makes me feel up!

      Just finishing Oathbreakers’ Guild!
I’ve already put Farlanders Law by my bedside!

    1. OMG!!!
      🤗🌸💖❦❦💜💚❌⭕❌

Make sure to tell people there is a FREE download on my blog! Yes, there is one available on amazon, but I changed the ending and never updated the ending in the one on amazon, because I had begun my boycott of amazon.

“Nine Black Lives” is on the menu bar at the top. It can be downloaded from there.
Here is a direct link to that page – https://graffitiluxandmurals.com/artists/

The book cover is on that page, if you don’t have it already.
      Yikes!

      1. Thanks Resa. Omg, I forgot you said you had an alternate ending. I purchased this book on Amazon. Now I’m curious to read the alternate ending! I will mention all this. ❤ xox
