Yes, it’s spelled different.
KISMET
a hypothetical force or personified power that determines the course of the future events : fate, destiny.
Kizmet 32 is the artist who painted this box.
Although it was kismet that I bumped into this art,
… on a sunny day along Lake Ontario.
That meant shadows, but I think they work here. They are barely noticeable on the east side of the box.
None at all on the north side. The lake is in the background.
Can’t see any on the west side. Ha! Suddenly I see KIZ.
I’m luvin’ the shadow on the south side.
I had to get in on it.
Back to the beginning.

Rest it is a real and beautiful experience following your camera eye.
Thank you, Neil! Lovely comment!
going blind, Resa not Rest, you know
I know! No worries.
The old artist sun above its shadow offspring makes double sure that everything is theirs for others to see. They make it obvious to the eye or, sometimes, the quizzical mind. I rather like shadows; they are the bizarre artists from above that never speak. Brilliant. Regards, TOF
TOF!
Yes, the sun and her shadows are amazing artists.
Sometimes they outdo the art. Here, they work together beautifully.
Luv your comment!
Wow! Such striking art and terrific skill and yes, the shadows are coming in to play! I’m intrigued, does the box serve a purpose apart from this stunning piece of art? Wishing you a lovely day, Resa. Annika
It’s a fab work of art. It’s quite modern, another form of abstract. It also includes a very today theme…. our minds and the machine.
The box is probably to access electricity that is used to light the boardwalk at night and supply energy to the Granite Club.
So cool, Resa! Gorgeous colors, art, and I like how you incorporated the shadows.
I also wondered about the box, and if there are other pieces of public art there.
Merril,
Thank you, and yes, it’s a wonderful piece of art. I spotted it from above, on the escarpment as I passed by on a streetcar.
I found 1 other box with a butterfly, about 1/2 mile east. Although I’m sure there are boxes all along the lakeshore.
After a mile I headed north, to no art.
You’re welcome, Resa. That’s interesting.
Thanks for sharing!
kismet is my way of life, and kizmet is wonderful
So talented! Have a great weekend Resa.
Agree! You have a great weekend too, Eunice. We are getting some early spring weather. Hope you are too! xx
We are then that mess out west will head our way 😦
It’s very amazing, and i think it took great efforts to bring it onto the wall. Thanks for sharing, Resa! Best wishes, Michael
Welcome, my pleasure, Michael!
Best to you, and have a fab weekend!
Thanks, Resa! Also enjoy a fabulous weekend! xx Michael
xx
Fun, clever post, Resa — and the art and its colors? GREAT!
Yay! It is a vibrant piece, and seems to have a message about the future.
Love the colours! I spotted it on the lakeshore from up on the escarpment. The colours lured me in like a siren’s song!
I can understand the lure-ability! 🙂
Heading out Sunday for a hunt! 🙂
Good luck!
Thanks Dave! (so exciting)
🙂
Amazing, very interesting, and very colorful!
Have a fine weekend, dear Reza!
Yes, I agree! The weekend, Yay! You have a fab one too, Martha!
It is really a Kismet that you’ve found this box, dear Resa. I see a robot woman, and the shadows tell a lot. Anyway, it put a spell on me!
Great artwork.🤙🙏🥰
Agree, it says a lot.
A for spells, I was up on an escarpment when I saw it along the lakeshore…the size of my thumbnail.
I went there the next day. I had to!
x.🤙🙏🥰o
Hi Resa, need I say another stunning piece of art, but I think the box might house electrical hardware, as in the UK we have electrical supply “Sub Stations” that are about the same size as this outbuilding….however ours aren’t decorated on the whole sadly (you may see one or two in bigger cities painted). Anyway you do have some sort of “Force” that draws you to precious art so thanks for sharing again.
I thinks it’s electrical, too.
The boxes are ugly and make our cities uglier. A bit of paint in the hands of an artist goes a long way to making a more pleasant, interesting environment.
Yes… “a force” is with me, when it comes to street art.
Welcome, and cheers!
It was kismet that drew you to this beautiful art!
A nightmare from the [not so] future, brilliantly conceived.
Wonderfully captured, dahling!

Yes.. kismet and kizmet.
I believe people are interpreting this work of art correctly.
The artist not only uses bold colours, but is bold with his statement.
Had t have tis one in my collection!

Not only colorful and well done, it’s also very thought-provoking!
Yes, agree! The message in this work of art is loud and clear!
Clink!
This art is quite extraordinary. I love the vibrant colours.
Agree, and it holds a message! Have a great weekend, Robbie!
Yes, that too 🌈
🌈🌈
The art is great, but your photos make this box live. I loved the four-sided view. Thanks for sharing. 🐂🐂🐂🐂
Aww, thank you, dear John!
I just love taking pics of street art. Something comes over me!
🐂🐂🐂🐂 💋
A great series of paintings on that utility box. Love the colors. Shadows are, in their own way, part of outdoor art.
It’s a wonderful art box… lol!
You are right Trent, about shadows. It’s great when I can incorporate them. However, sometimes they just take over the art.
Great pics – The shadows work well; you wove them in for some added contrast… Ominous androids approaching!🦾🧿🎨🫣
LOL! Ominous film editing approaching…?
Yeah, I’m hooked on street art, a most fortunate addiction! 🧿🎨📽🔪
Tis a fantastic addiction. Keep it up.
It feels like I will. Thank you!
wonderful! loving the use of colour.

The colour is fabulous!!

as is your blog capturing it
💫🙇♂️😌🙏✨
What a great way to paint an old shipping container.
He’s a wonderful artist. It sure beats looking at squares and rectangles of cold metal all over the city. Thanks Tim!
I think the shadows add to the artwork. The artist must have noticed them and it makes me wonder if Kiz enjoyed them too, and used them in some way. While walking around in Vancouver and Victoria I noticed a lot of painted boxes. They were everywhere (like surprises). It seems like it’s a Toronto thing as well. 🙂 Love it.
Interesting thoughts, Diana.
When I see all the painted wires in the art, the leafless shadows of branches do fit in.
He may have taken from that.
Lotsa painted boxes here! I luv it, to! Sure is nice to live i a painted city.
Eeek, I just sent Catling’s face. 😳🤗
Oh… I’m going to switch over and look!!! ❤
❤ ❤ EEeeeeeek!
It’s wonderful!!
Yayayayayayyyyyy!!!!!
Very cool
Yeah!!!
I agree with Frank. Resa, this one isn’t just good-looking to me…but gets me thinking as well.
I agree too! It’s a terrific work of art! Thanks Bruce!
This is wonderful. I love the clear vividness of this art. The location is spectacular. Such a great find Resa. Hats off to Kizmet!
xoxoxo
I agree, the vividness is alluring.
Yes, chapeau to Kizmet! xoxoxo
(Started an LC. So far so good!) xx
Chapeaux dear Resa

OK Music night! Sasha on drums. Eeeeee! xoxoxo
Eeeee! Sasha’s Back! That excellent 🥁
Yes! It was a bit rough off the top, but Sasha really warmed up near the end.
They jammed on “Don’t Let Me Down” & “Helter Skelter”)
I answered your mail. I’m all emotionally lathered up. We must keep our portrait tributes up!
xxooxx
I’m ready to go on LC. Last touches. xoxoxo
Got your mail. Love what you are doing!
I’m quite excited! xoxoxo
Wow, Resa — this one is a spectacular find! I love the front image, but how cool that there’s a different one on each side of the box.
I see that I missed one of your drawings while I was hiding under my rock. Clicking over to that now. Hugs.
It isa neat work of art. Colourful and holds a message. Ah, yes, the drawings are always a thrill for me.
I have a rock too. Now worries! Hugs!
That…is fabulous. Love it. Great shots, Resa.
It is quite striking, and holds a message. Thank you Gi! xx
A pleasure
This artwork seems to have a Borgian vibe to it. (Unless it’s the result of The Borg being never far from my mind these days.)
Interesting comment Liz.
Yes, I can see why you’d say that , in all various contexts of the 3 meanings.
Borgias from Italy … duplicitous, dangerous, manipulative use of politics to gain and keep an upper hand over society.. seems parallel to modern politics.
Borg – acronym for “black out rage gallon.” A gallon container drink of water and alcohol (approx 17 shots of vodka 😵💫) by students who want a safer drinking experience. Understandable why people would want to black out and not deal with current events.
Borg – an alien life form from “Star Trek”. The Borg have a gestalt group mind & is perverted to become the collective. This way the leader can add all of the Borg’s strength, technology, and life-force to her (in today’s case … HIS) own.
Interesting!
I’d forgotten about the Borgias! Yes, they fit. I hadn’t heard of alcohol Borg.
AH! So you meant the Star Trek Borgs.
Very clever.
OR … do you have a Borg of your own.
Perhaps I’ve forgotten something I read on your blog?
Let me know!
Nope, I’m thinking of the Star Trek Borg.
So interesting. I would have guessed the Borgias!
😀
These jaunts of yours are full of treasures not so hidden, and that’s a good thing for everyone who gets to partake of the works of art. This one is giving me an “AI with a soul” kinda vibe, as if pushing back at dystopian endings in favor of the heart and soul of humankind.
Love the jaunts!
Art speaks. Sometimes it doesn’t say much. Sometimes it screams.
As yourself, many are getting a lot of meaning from this one. I think the artist is getting his message across, and you are interpreting it perfectly.
The jaunts! Where you galivant!
I believe this.
I love it.
Lots of light for February… Great post Resa. Thank you. 🙏🏻
great one
