Lightening Eyes

When it is strikes close to home, lightening can be dangerous, terrifying.

Powerful enough for your heart to skip beats

Blinding

Numbing

Incongruous with the morning’s sunshine

… and we all know what comes after lightening

THUNDER

  1. You have been on another marvelous mural treasure hunt, Resa!!! Brilliant symbolism in this mural. I agree – lightening is indeed dangerous. And yet, we revel in its beauty as it lights up a dark sky. “I will love the light for it shows me the way, yet I will endure the darkness for it shows me the stars.” Og Mandino. Thank you for being a light in our community.

    1. Hunt is the buzz word here, Rebecca!
Due to the virus, there are not as many sponsored murals and big undertakings, like underpasses, sides of high rises, etc. where the artists make good $ and get free paint.
So, there are smaller and private pieces being painted, for which artists make some $, or at least free paint.
A lot of what I’m finding is; the artists get permission to paint a wall, garage door, fence, etc. but they don’t get any $ at all. They may even have to bring their own paint.
So, they paint whatever they want, instead of submitting a design to the property owner, and sponsor. So we end up with pieces more hidden from the main, and more old school/this is what I like and want to do type pieces.
This piece is an example of that.
Thank you for saying I am a light! That is a very lovely thing!

    1. I thought of Thunder ⚡️💥 the second I laid eyes on this, It is definitely a striking mural!!!!!

  2. It’s monsoon season here in Arizona, I’m told, which means we should be getting “lots” of rain. But there’s been virtually no rain since we moved here at the end of March, although we’ve had some nights of tremendous lighting and thunder. Right now lightning’s in my bad books for starting all those fires the are decimating California and other states, so it’s hard to enjoy it. However, I’ll make an exception for this marvelous mural.

    1. Yes, it is… perhaps even more so because of Climate Change. Just look at the California fires.
Canada’s last fully intact ice-shelf just collapsed into the sea. It is larger than Manhattan Island.

    1. Yay!
Just rescued you and Timothy from my SPAM!
I think there was some Hanky Panky going on.Timothy started singing “Come On Baby Light My Fireflies”. LOL

    1. Nice! I love thunder. We might get some today. The sound is very boomy over the lake.
It’s the destructive force of lightening, especially with forests being so dry in certain areas, that has folks worried.
Meanwhile, a big chunk Canada’s last intact ice-shelf broke off in July,. It’s bigger than Manhattan Island.

    Good evening,
I hope you and your family are happy and healthy. I am truly inspired by your posts, thank you for creating this site.

I would be privileged if you visit my site,
    Thank you for your time,
    Have a nice day ahead.

    1. Aww, thank you so much!
I try to bring an experience to viewing the art, in the way it captured me. Just one shot rarely brings a person into it.

That’ crazy! No rain for 2 months.
Well, even crazier is California. I swear the entire state is just going to burn down!
      Take care, my TVTA!

      1. You did a really good job. Love the art you show but also the way you present it.

That’s scary the wildfires going in the south west States 😦 We had our share of forest fires here during the hot and dry summer, but nothing on that scale.

        1. Thank you!

Yeah, the fires… they are even worse now. The entire coast is on fire, working its way into Canada soon.
The smoke is blinding. It’s so thick, and with the weather patterns, we might get some of it here an a few days.
          Sigh!

  4. Well the first words that came to my mind. “When there’s lightning, you know it always brings me down
‘Cause it’s free and I see that it’s me
Who’s lost and never found”. Ronnie James Dio 😉 Loved this one.

  5. Youza! This is powerful and blinding in a good way, Resa! But I’ll admit to not caring for lightning much this year because of the fires here in CA, and the northern west coast. It’s been pretty scary and a new normal for us each year. Right now, it’s raining ash. But again, this was a great find. All your posts are great finds, though. 🙂 Have a wonderful weekend! 🧡💥🌩🌩🌩🌝

    1. Raining ash… uch!
I understand where you are coming from, although you are living through it.
Have the best week ahead… the best you can under the circumstance.
My thoughts are with you in California, and all my west coast U.S.A pals! xoxoxoxo

  6. I don’t know if you’ve watched the TV show The Boys but if you have or anyone else has then you’ll know this one is reminiscent of the character Homelander with his terrible laser eyes :X I just had a flashback, it’s a creepy show!
