Round about the Painted House go!

In this 9th & last post showcasing The Painted House, we finish viewing the exterior. The east side begins with this gorgeous bird.

Then a cool head,

…..leads to a flower with an eye, then continues in Slide Show below.

The flower with eye is before April Showers,
..which is seen far right, then chicken w/head & mushroom cap cat.
Then a diver with Endangered Species, odd guy & fish w/face in stomach..
The guy of ?
Sunflower women is next to the entrance,
..guarded by thistle head?

I adore the Sunflower Woman.

Enter the backyard by Thistle Head, to find a floral back wall w/skeleton. Note the dog door on far left! This is the entrance to the house, and appeared in Kitchen segment.

The Backyard has its own post. Then we come around to the west side of the house, in Slide Show.

A painted walkway,

..leads us out the front gate. Bye, bye Painted House! You were a lot of fun.

Interiors – The Painted House

In this second last post of the Painted House, we look at the remainder of the interior.

Main Floor

Bathroom

This is a difficult painting to capture, as the bathroom was about 5′ wide, tops.

I used the zoom-out feature to shoot it.

……which accounts for most of the distortion seen in the slideshow.

Dining Room

Living Room

The art was painted over wall paper in the living room. In a couple of pieces, the art was integrated with the wall paper, as seen in. the slideshow.

Second Floor

Bedrooms

This was a Jackson Pollack + (sort of) all over paint with installation. This is a tiny room, and the most popular with the kids.

“Put that back! Don’t touch that! I want this! No, it’s part of the art! Waaaaaa!, Don’t go there! I want the bear! Put the bear back!,etc.”

I got out of that room fast, but not before I nabbed a shot of me in the splattered mirror.

The master bedroom was done in faux stained glass effect, and partly shown in in the post September of The Painted House series. The third bedroom was featured in Bedroom of TPH series

Kitchen – The Painted House

It was mayhem, a potpourri of colour.

I fell in love with the tiger. I thought of all my cat pals.

Upon entering there is a face to the left.

Straight ahead, left side of the kitchen is another face and the stunning leopard head.

Everything was painted: the cupboards, the stove, the range hood, the walls, the windows and nothing was left to paint, except the paint itself.

So, the paint was painted.

On the right side is an all over abstract mural. I saw the eye, but didn’t see the face until looking at pics.

# Find Autumn Shaganash

It wasn’t until looking at the pics in the files, that I realized this face was of a missing indigenous woman.

Her name is Autumn, and she went missing in June, 2023.

Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women

This is a prevalent reality all across Canada.

The basement wreck room was dark and narrow. Autumn was the feature art. How sad is that?

There was a bar on the left on your way out.

Backyard – The Painted House

It’s a tiny backyard, green & overgrown. Whoever lived there loved their yard.

At the back end of the yard was the side of the garage. One enters the garage from the alley.

This face& upper torso was painted on the garage’s side wall, decorated with old tools.

I think she’s holding an albatross, albeit with a straight beak. How cool would that be, to have an albatross of my very own?

Objects from inside the house & garage were brought into the yard and painted. This triptych made from 3 doors is really cool.

In a dark second floor bedroom is this fabulous face.

The room was so dark and the colours of the painting so dark that some of the pics came out almost black.

It was quite the shock to my senses,

When I turned 180 degrees around, and saw this.

….. is a bathroom.

I told you I had a surprise for you on my stop of your Simple Pleasures book tour. All I had to do was pick 1 Bryan Ferry song. This turned out to be most difficult, overwhelming. Better late than never!
