Along the Riverbanks

A Mural for Nature Lovers

Okay, I thought this was a wolf, but turns out it’s a coyote.

This spectacular mural is on a retaining wall by the Don River. I’m guessing 100 ft. long anyway.

Viewing from left to right: The bits of green behind the Blue Fronted Dancer Damsel Fly are stinging nettle.

Toad

Mink

Water Strider

Bullhead Catfish, White Sucker and Raccoon

The terrifying and wildly wild Golden Doodle

Cottontail Rabbit

Fox

Coyote

Red-winged Blackbird and Great Egret

White-tailed Deer

Beaver with Water Lily behind it.

Painted Turtle

Broadleaf Plantain in centre

Leopard Frog

Bumblebee with White Astor

As I mentioned at the beginning, I thought this was a wolf. I had done a song with Tim about my Wolf Tree and the Wolf moon. I thought – YAY, I can use it here. Coyote not a wolf, I’m using it anyway. I can’t sing, but I’m singing anyway.

  1. Wow! Resa, this is a truly stunning mural! It’s like being immersed in nature – just more vivid than ever! The paintings are spectacular and this place deserves to be a tourist attraction in its own right! I loved the the song and your singing – you’re a natural! Just the post I needed to read this very grey and wet afternoon. Thank you for brightening up my day! 😀❤️

    1. Oh, Yay!
I’m always happy to brighten anyone’s day.
Yes, it’s a fantastic mural. I always shiver when I find a fab work of street art, and this one made me double shiver.

My singing… well … thank you! If I ever go on tour – Free tickets and backstage passes for you. 😂 💓

  2. Who said you can’t sing?! You’re a natural! Plenty of coyotes around Timothy’s Wolf Tree…

Wow, I love the colors and the compositions of this spectacular mural. Leaning towards the moonlit egret as my favorite. Thank you!

    1. Thank you Cheyenne!
      Arrrooooo
Mom & the choir masters said I can’t sing, but apparently I can, in my way.
So, it was fun doing that song for Tim. Maybe we’ll do another.

What a fab mural. I didn’t want to leave. Yes. the egret is a fave of mine… and the fox. 🦊

What a magnificent menagerie of exquisitely painted animals. That was such a terrific find. Coyotes love standing in for wolves.  Jake liked being the yellow wolf in the video. Your voice is perfect for the song.

    1. Thank you,John! I think my love of the art comes through.
Lol… well, thanks about my singing. Arrrooo!!!
I’m sure to do another song with Tim!

  4. Oh Resa!!! This feels like one of those moments of pure joy! Wolf or coyote, forest animals within a city. The song and murals voice the words of animal spirits. The colours alone feel alive, watchful, wild, alert. Your collaboration with Tim is truly spectacular. There is a marvelous thread of creativity that moves from mural to music. You have a beautiful voice. This is my third time around. Sending hugs across the miles!

    1. Rebecca, thank you so uch for your most kind comment!
It is a wonderful mural, that I hated to leave.
Tim wrote a terrific song. The chorus was catchy, so I got it right away.

    1. Gee, the fox is looking the rabbit’s way.

Whew! The fox wont get far. He/she’s stuck in paint, drooling over rabbit for until the mural is gone. 🤭

  5. Stunning mural! Love all the colors and I thought that coyote is a wolf as well, Resa! 🐺 But hey, they’re like cousins in the dog family so I think the song is perfect to accompany this magnificent art.

    1. Yes, it is a fabulous mural. I guess the wolf and coyote are cousins.
Hope you are having a terrific week, Ruth!

  6. I love the idea of turning an ordinary thing, like a retaining wall, into a spectacular work of art. Have I ever spent more than two seconds studying a retaining wall? This is a show-stopper.

      1. Got it 😉
I’m a bit behind here. I got a stomach bug. Heading back to bed shortly!
I just need to slim down the selection of wedding gown pics.I chose way too, many. xx

    1. Yes, wildlife varies globally.
And that’s why I love that you share so much about African wildlife, I want to know.

We have so much to learn from them, by learning about them.

  8. Wow! That mural is stunning! The colors are amazing, Resa. I’m almost sorry that it’s so huge because I want to see it all at once – lol. But it sure would make for a glorious stroll with lots of pausing. Spectacular.

    1. Ha! Yes, it was too long for a single shot. It would look like a colourful piece of string.
All in all a fabulous experience to be there.
So happy you got to see this, Diana!

    1. Agree! Love this art.
I’ve been slow blogging. I picked up a digestive tract bug. Disgusting 4 days just went by!
It’s like being seasick all the ttime.
