Sketchy

I love the way this looks like a sketch on a wall.

The female face is fab.

There is also a male profile. He appears to be praying.

Here is the entire image. There is no artist signature. There is a red # message.

Did the artist put the # message there? Is the # message a tag?

Eye think the # message is a TAG! With or without the #message, I also think there is a message in here, but have no real idea what.

    1. Welcome & thank you dear John!
      OX OX OX OX

I think I found a new OX! He’s a cartoon, and he’s smoking a cigarette! Will keep you posted!

    1. Yes! I love that look. It looks like it’s all so easy and confident. I try, but I only get that effect by accident, so far.

  1. It does look like a sketch–very cool.
From doing a quick search, it seems like the tag might have something to do with First Nations? Though I’m not certain what it means.

    1. It is a cool sketch, for sure.

First Nations in Canada means all of our indigenous Indians. In 1948 it was decided they should be given the right to vote. It took 12 years to happen.

There were several notable events in 1948.
One event was Israel, on May 14, declared they were a state, and the USA acknowledged the Jewish government as de facto authority.

      Mahatma Gandhi was murdered.
& wherein does the anti lie?

  2. The female face IS fab, you’re right! And I might be wrong but I think this is a tribute to the victims of the 1948 anti-Semitic riots in Tripoli.

    1. That was one of the things I thought. Then again there were a couple other big events in 1948. Also, I couldn’t figure where the “ANTI” lay?
      MUAH

    1. Me too! Wish I could get that it’s an easy breezy feeling.
Anyway, with time. I’ve got a more purposeful drawing agenda at the moment! ❤️🐭🐭❤️

        1. Okay… LADY! Let me list out, in the most pathetic detail you can imagine, my manly rights here:

          1 – Something or other.

That’s that. I’m pretty tired right now, I’ve been up since 5am which was 79 years ago. So yeah, that probably makes sense.

                    1. Yay!! I answered the mail, and attached a 2 page memoir about Charles Bronson.
I’ve done a few. Perhaps I’ll do book. If you like the tale, I can send you another one.
                      I appreciate your input!

                    1. Yes…. I think there are large size Pot Noodles. We’ll use those, and make sure the “juice, as ‘Oron calls it) is good’n’sticky.
Ha! He’ll be mopping up for days!

  3. This is a wonderful find, Sorceress. The date does suggest what Marc suggests! However, there is a quiet and serene joy to their faces (hers, in particular), lifted up to feel the light. Gorgeous.

    1. There is a serenity, for sure. I do like this work a lot. One day my sketches will betray such an easy freedom.
Meanwhile, I need to get out and buy more erasers! ⚡️💥

  4. Looks like they are both praying and that teal / mint green adds to the serenity of the mural. It’s beautifully expressive. Great find, dahling! xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo

    1. It is a very neat find.
The serene colours work, for sure, and the easy going sketch feeling is so hard to do.
      Wonder what I’ll find next?

  5. This artist clearly has a thing about green. One suggests this postulates about the environment. Or bogeys. One or t’other.

Actually, it makes me think of Octavia Butler’s Bloodchild, for some reason. Stark. Yes, the starkness.

  6. Resa, I’m so impressed that you find these murals. Yes, it really does look like a sketch — cool! That must have been a difficult effect to create. Thanks for another great armchair adventure. Hugs.

    1. In art, visuals can lead to emotional or physical responses. That goes for all art forms.
The arts are compelling and influential!
Their ability to move is both hated and valued by people in power.
      Make art not war! 🎼💖🎨🩰✍️

  7. Love your photos Resa. I’m thinking there’s definitely a message, with or without the read writing. All art is inspired by something or someone. ❤ xx
