Dog Love

This mural is on a wall that runs along a small parkette, where many people take their dogs. This gorgeous Doberman is near the end of about 200 feet of wall.

So, let me start at the beginning, of what is titled “Green Space For All”. I will keep the art in order as we move along the wall.

Between the dogs are colourful burners (aka writing, lettering).

A panorama shot of a section.

More panorama.

Honestly, I only recognize the Doberman and Dalmatians. If you recognize any other breed, let me know!

Click on Lauren Scott’s poem “Copper Boy”and find her book “Ever So Gently” on Amazon.

Occasionally there are 2 burners in a row.

Gorgeous dogs!

My dear friend John Howell’s Twiggy has had a big operation. I send them a herd of OXen.

Marina – Art Towards a Happy Day has a beautiful dog named Hera. Hera is part Pitbull, and is loveable. Each year, Marina shares information and misinformation about the breed.

To all who have dogs, please give your doggie a pet or a kiss from me. They won’t know it’s from me, but they will still like it!

  1. Hi Resa, this mural is wonderful. The dogs are beautifully painted. One looks like a bulldog and one could be a spaniel but the ears are a bit short. I didn’t know Twiggy was sick. I’m going straight over to John’s blog now. Have a great weekend.

    1. I agree with you, Roberta.
I was walking in an area I never find art. I thought…let’s just check out that parkette, a walk is a walk whether I find art or not.
      Was I surprised? Pleasantly!
Yeah, Twiggy had an op, and John is taking amazing care of her.
You have a great weekend, too.!

  2. This is a wonderful post about dogs, Resa. I’m especially grateful for your lovely get-well message for Twiggy. We both send another herd of OXen back to you. I told them to wipe their feet before entering your living room. Twiggy is doing better every day. Thanks, Again.

    1. Welcome, John!
It is a pretty great mural.
I know Twiggy is getting better from the surgery. Still, there’s the rehab part to come.
I know you will be the best therapist, ever!
Okay…. the OXen did not wipe their feet. They cited the fact that they don’t have feet. They said they have hooves, and that you didn’t say anything about hooves.
Okay going to go clean up, and sending the herd of clean hoofed OXen back to you!

        1. Wwwwwwelllll!
It’s not like one can buy hoof polish at the corner store!
          I did however Windex them.
Yes, I suppose it was a swamp migration.
The least you could have done was get them all rubber galoshes for their return trip.
I don’t have a hose, so I’m off to get all the Mud Master & Waterhog door mats I can find!
I’ll route them back through the desert!

Puppy Love! Now that is a bunch of really great dog murals! There’s a Beagle and a Chow Chow, and bull type dog. Twiggy looks like a French Bulldog. I don’t know the breeds on the other dogs.

    1. A Chow Chow… must be. Someone else ID’d that.
A beagle, and I spotted the Dalmatians (haha) & Doberman.
      Getting there!
It really is a fab mural. Not that I needed to take more pics, but I would have if my battery wasn’t almost done.
I want to get one of those charger things for when I’m walking around. xx

Your new iPhone should have lots of time on its battery. We had a Chow Chow years ago. She was used by the labs to develop the defibrillator. She was shocked into arterial fibrillation and de-fibrillated over 300 times. My dad brought her home because he thought she was too beautiful to be put down after the tests were completed. We named her Sandy and she lived with us for many years after making her contribution to medicine. She was a really good dog.

        1. My fault for not having it properly charged when I head out! I suppose I could use the charger for my forgetfulness.

OMG! Animals used in labs freak me out! I’m so happy Sandy had a good life after her ordeal.
          What a crazy story!
          xoxo

  4. Such a glorious display of dogs , hats off to the artists. I love the Dobie, I had a female Doberman, she was the most lovable ( and shy ) dog I’ve had ( I’ve had many since childhood. Afraid of her own shadow and totally debunked their reputation as bad dogs. She was a warlock breed as her back fur grew forward giving the appearance of being ready to fight (😊) I also see a Beagle ( had a sweet one) and that beautiful Boxer! Resa, you’ve done such a beautiful job capturing this wall art , I completely love it dear Meece. Thank you for sharing this , you know how I love dogs and cats and all creatures. I was not aware that Twiggy had serious surgery. Such a precious doggie. Sending love to you and sweet Jeep. ❤️

    1. Hahaha! A warlock breed of Doberman. I can imagine the back brushed look of the hair. People are afraid enough already, never mind the warlock look.
I personally have had fab relationships with friends’ Dobermans.

Is the Boxer the one in the baseball hat? Was Tide a Boxer?
I love dogs. I love cats. I love chickens… so I’m with you on animal love.
I hope I find more animal murals!

Thank you for your compliments on the pics and presentation.
      Jeep sends a BOSSY meow.
I have spoiled her like crazy, since…. She now has her own ensuite bathroom.
She loves it! Norm…not so much!
      xoxoxoxo

      1. I really love this wall art , someone loved animals and that’s great. Doberman’s are terrific, of course one must select a pet that fits the family. The dude in the hat is a Boxer, such fine dogs. Tide was a Boston Terrier ( a mix of English Bulldog and Frenchies).
Mr. B is totally spoiled too, but let’s face it they are Cats, it’s only right. I hope he doesn’t get word of the en-suite bathroom, he’ll be impossible to live with.

Sending bushels of hugs sweet Meece.
        xoxoxo

        1. A Boxer! I know someone who loves Boxers, and has one. They are uber sweet dogs.
Ahh, Tide was an interesting mix.
No worries… mums the word. Mr. B won’t get a whiff of Jeep’s en suite.
Thing is, after Johnny was gone, she was peeing in a circle around her litter box. So sad.
I moved it upstairs, and she’s fine now.
She’s also suspicious of the front door.
Norm & I go out, but then we come back. She spends time by the door now. She never used to. I think she has a sense Johnny might come back.
And, when I go out now, she follows me to the door & cries. When I get home, she is still there.
Sending bushels of Meece hugs back!
          xoxoxo

          1. Oh, that precious kitty mom. Tide was from a puppy mill ( I found out later, they won’t forget me soon !). He was so insecure if we left he would go to bed , not eat or drink , just stay there. We went on a trip for three days ( I took him everywhere with me) we had to leave for home after two days , he refused to eat or drink and was getting so dehydrated. They have very strong emotions , I feel people who are cruel to them don’t realize how much they really feel. And love us so unconditionally.
Jeep may be waiting for her baby to come back and fearful when you leave. I’m glad she feels peaceful with her en-suite , she needs that right now. Sorry Norm…xoxoxoxo

            1. Puppy mill people should have to live in one of their dog pens, see what it’s like. You are being kind to those people who don’t care.
True, some may not understand, but many
are simply cruel and don’t care.

Well, once you loved him, Tide had a good life. You are a kind person. I’m happy you found Tide.

The neighbours threw Jeep out. I kept telling them, your cat is outside. They said no, no, she ran away. I said what? Ran away to your back step?

She ran into my arms one day. She was skin and bone. She was also pregnant. Johnny was one of her babies.

The en-suite has made a huge difference.
Norm’s a big boy. he’ll get over it.
The en-suite is here to stay.
Okay, back to drawing and sewing!
              xoxoxoxo
              Adore you!

              1. So right! There’s no room for any kindness for animal ( or human) cruelty. I put the puppy mill out of business. Tide was a sick pup when I got him. How can these folks just throw these living breathing creatures away. Truly hateful. Jeep is a lucky girl finding you!
Use a thimble, Adore you back.

                1. Yay… you should get an award for putting them out of business. 🏆
Well, I was lucky to find Jeep. We were both lucky. We fell in love at first sight.
Kinda crazy, but the guy who threw Jeep out had some kind of stroke(only 40) and wound up using a cane.
I never wished him any bad, even though I though it wasn’t right what he did.
He always hung his head when he walked by me with his cane.
I promise to use my thimble!
                  xo🐭🐭ox

  5. Aw, dahling I love this post and there’s someone next to me who wishes to take over! In a minute, Hera!!!! It’s such a bundle of joy and though I know most of the breeds in the murals, there’s probably no point mentioning them. They are all creatures of joy! So happy to see Copper here and Lauren’s beautiful poem to him. “Ever So Gently” is an amazing book! I hope Twiggy recovers soon! and…. okay okay Hera, here you are….
Woof woof, aunt Resa, all these doggies, woof! So colorful, I just want to dive in the screen and join them and thank you for sharing our story. Paw waves to Copper and Twiggy! And what is this about me not knowing who the kiss is from?! Seriously? Me?!!!!!
Kissiiiis back and slobberies too so you better prepare!
    …and love, from mom too!
    Woof!
    🐾😘🐾❤️🐾😘🐾
Though this may be a doggy post, please give special kisses to Jeep too! ❤️

    1. Dahling!
      Thank you for the reblog!
Yes, all the doggies are beautiful and perfect. It was a thrill to find this.
(OH.. this is a weird WP glitch…. I can’t see what I’m typing until it’s done.)

Hera!!!!! You can play with all these doggies as long as you want. I’m so happy you know those special kisses are from me. Don’t hog them all and save some for mommy Marina! 💓xo🧽💓xo🧽💓xo🧽💓xo🧽💓xo🧽💓xo🧽💓xo🧽💓xo🧽💓xo🧽💓xo🧽💓xo🧽💓xo🧽💓xo🧽💓xo🧽💓xo🧽
I will give Jeep special kisses. She’s been wanting many these days. She now has her own ensuite bathroom. She’s thrilled! Norm, nit so much.
      xoxoxoxoxoxoxo

      1. Of course I recognize those kisses!!! As for mom… well, okay, I will give her some too!
Mom sends more love and hugs
and well… many many more slobberies from me!
        xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo
ps. wp has been acting up lately in various ways.

  6. Well, Sorceress, I can see you got lots of responses on the dogs you were unsure of so I’ll zip my trap. This is a fabulous, colourful, delightful, beautiful work of art. Between the dogs and the burners – just makes for more fantastic!
Were Zeke still around, he would approve wholeheartedly! xoxoxo

    1. What trap? The Thunder Dome?
      Lol… you got me going!
Agree, this is one fun wall of art.
I did think of Zeke when I was making this post. He was a gorgeous dog.

So… although it’s just the beginnings, I am half way through the skirt. (easy part)
What great therapy hand sewing is. Dreaming of how to cut the bodice, overskirt and tail.
      xoxoxo

      1. Buahahaha! You are so very witty! Thunder Dome…
It is a wonderful wall of art.
Awww… He was such a handsome fella.

Whoa! That is amazing! I can imagine it is therapeutic to work with your hands in this manner.
        xoxoxo

  8. What wonderful dogs, Resa. And a fun multi-artist mural. I’m not familiar with all the breeds, though I did recognize the chow at the beginning and the beagle (#3). I can’t imagine anyone walking by that artwork and not breaking into a smile. Hugs.

    1. Agree! This is a mural that makes you smile.
I was grinning ear to ear while taking the pics.

I’d love to give a dog a home, but the universe keeps sending stray cats to my door. The cats are enough work. I had 14 at one time….years ago.
LOL! N had a bit of a freak out and said I had to get it down to 1. I got it down to 4.
Alas, I’m down to 1 now. I’m sure there will be a cat at my door, or a window soon! Hugs!

      1. 14 cats! You sound like my parents. They were always crazy cat people. Hehe. I was almost as bad. I don’t have any pets now, Resa, and the temptation to adopt is ferocious! Maybe one will wander my way. It’s happened before. 🙂

        1. All my cats have been strays. They just show up!
Bukowski was a cat lover. He had 9 at one time. He said he’d hear a noise at the door. He’d answer the door and a cat would move in. 😻

  9. What fine dogs! The beagle and the two burners are my favorites. And now I have a wonderful old song in my ears: “How much is that doggy in the window? Whuff, whuff! The one with the waggly tail…” 😉
Have a fine weekend, dear Resa!

  10. Resa – this is a marvelously happy post, Resa. Dogs are simply fun to be around. They are playful, energetic, and always up for an adventure. They bring joy and happiness, companionship, and emotional support into our lives. These mural artists brought out the personalities of these dogs. Thank you!!!!!

    1. Agree!… Welcome.
As one dog artist once said to me, “woof, warf, woof, bark bark, yip yip, woof, grrrowl, woof, yip.”
I laughed my guts out and told him he was a howl!

    1. Thanks Dave! It’s a fab mural.
“Cadre of Canines” – an international best seller about specially trained dogs working for the French Underground in WWII.

        1. It’s made up by me!
          Lol! Laughing my head off.
I guess I should put a laffy emoji face, or put just kidding in brackets.
          Sorry abut. that! 🫤

      1. Yes almost the Ultimate Villain…well I can think of many more that would easily earn the title, but at least she’s just a movie or animated character…but every Dalmatian owner is scared of her 😀

    1. Agree Christy, it’s a fab find!
Yes, I see their personalities. That s a neat thng about cats and dogs, they do have personalities!
Hope you’re having a great week!

  11. I love all of the dogs depicted, but the Doberman is the standout for me. He has such a soulful look on his face. The second dog may be a Chow Chow. We once had a Chow Chow, German Shepherd mix. She was loving and affectionate with us, but God help you if you were the mailman.

  12. Hi Resa, you have DOGgone outdone yourself with sniffing out this mural! I’m sure you have a better nose than a Bloodhound for tracking down murals.

  13. Oh you are a delight. We would know so much less, see so much less without your eyes finding and sharing with us. I don’t visit, say thanks as often as you deserve but I do look & appreciate. Me more a cat person, but dogs are great too. I’ve a simple philosophy – any animal that doesn’t eat me is my friend. Thanks Resa ☆ ❤️ ☆

    1. Thank you, Neil!
Who can visit everyone all the time on WP? Not me that’s for sure.
      I am a cat person.
I love all animals. I’ve been a veggie pretty much my entire life.
My philosophy is “if it has eyes, don’t eat it”! ☆ ❤️ ☆☆ ❤️ ☆

  14. I will call this a Masterwork of painting (not only because I love dogs!). The anatomy and the lovely, gentle-looking eyes are perfect. You hit the point, Resa, dear friend. 🤙💖🙏🐕

    1. Thanks Frank! Yeah, a fab mural all in all! I like the do with the Blue Jays hat, too. Then I also like the Dalmatians and the Doberman a lot, as well.

  15. Aww, Resa, this is such a beautiful post full of canine love! Copper is honored to be among such amazing artwork, and the beauty of Hera and Twiggy cuteness. Thank you again for sharing my poem! Love and hugs from both of us. But his kisses will be a little sloppy, just sayin’. 🙂 xoxoxoxo

    1. I’m used to sloppy kisses from Hera!
I carry sponges with me for the occasions.
Your poem links to your book on Amazon, when one clicks on it. Perhaps I should have not used script in the above rectangle?
Now I have added a caption under the poem to click on it and go to your book on Amazon.
Anyway, I have posted my review on Goodreads.
Sending all my best, now and always!
      xo🧽xo🧽xo🧽xo🧽xo🧽xo🧽

            1. Oh gosh! No worries at all.
Reblog… OR just use the poem with Copper (Drag it off the post onto your desktop, or use the one I emailed you)… OR nothing!
              It’s fun for me!
Don’t feel rushed, you need time right now!
Go hug & kiss Copper! Here, take this! 🧽🧽
              🧡🤗

  16. What a great wall of dogs! Such a variety of sweet faces. I like how the one dog seems to be laughing.
Our daughter has a pit bull, a rescue. And they have another big dog, too–their old man dog.

    1. Agree, a great wall of dogs.
Maybe one day I’ll find a wall of cats!
Ahh, pit bulls are adorable. An old man dog, how loving.
I adore dogs, but seem to have devoted my life to being a cat mother.
      Woof!

    1. Dogs are wonderful.
Still a lot more work than hamsters or cats.
Walking it will keep you healthy. The dog will love you unconditionally.
Get a really big one, and youwon’t need a chainsaw. xxoo

  17. That is some beautiful art Res. And love the doggie tributes to Lauren’s and John’s dogs. You have a beautiful heart. And yes, I’m here!!! 🙂 ❤ xoxo

    1. I just read your twiXter message. What a rigamarole to be able to comment.
Still, I’m happy you can comment…..somehow!
So, don’t worry. If I don’t see a comment, I’ll know you didn’t have time for this WP shenanigan! xo💖ox

        1. No, you are not mixing things up. I had to put him to sleep. He had a brain tumour, and was having horrid seizures.
          Broke my heart!

          1. Ohhh. I’m so sorry… 💔 It’s always so sad when the “little ones” have to go. They’re so brave against pain, but, it is heart breaking…
            Hugs to you… 🤗

            1. 💔…Thank you! The hard part was that he seemed mostly okay, but then he’d have a seizure.
It was difficult to watch him in so much pain.
He was a loving little boy! Hugs! xx
