Our friend Francina – Poetry and Art wrote a post, Share the Light .

Francina asks, “Why don’t we all share the light as a sign of hope? We can do this by posting for instance an image of a candle, a lamp, the light of a lighthouse etc. etc. in a blog post with the heading: Share the Light.”
Many of our blog pals have posted a “Share the Light” and Francina has reblogged them. I hope more join in with a post, and don’t forget to link to Francina’s blog!
She quotes the refrain from Leonard Cohen’s ANTHEM (1982) For those who don’t know it, here is the poet, himself. His opening statement also applies today.
At the break of day
Start again
I heard them say
Don’t dwell on what
Has passed away
Or what is yet to be
Yeah the wars they will
Be fought again
The holy dove
She will be caught again
Bought and sold
And bought again
The dove is never free
Forget your perfect offering
There is a crack in everything (there is a crack in everything)
That’s how the light gets in
The signs were sent
The birth betrayed
The marriage spent
Yeah the widowhood
Of every government
Signs for all to see
With that lawless crowd
While the killers in high places
Say their prayers out loud
But they’ve summoned, they’ve summoned up
A thundercloud
And they’re going to hear from me
There is a crack, a crack in everything (there is a crack in everything)
That’s how the light gets in
You won’t have the sum
You can strike up the march
There is no drum
Every heart, every heart to love will come
But like a refugee
Forget your perfect offering
There is a crack, a crack in everything (there is a crack in everything)
That’s how the light gets in
Ring the bells that still can ring (ring the bells that still can ring)
Forget your perfect offering
There is a crack, a crack in everything (there is a crack in everything)
That’s how the light gets in
That’s how the light gets in
That’s how the light gets in

So sweet! I wish I could have written with him. Susanne! xoxoxoxoxo
If he knew you and your poetry, you would have your own poem by him. You would have inspired him, as you inspire me.
Working on my PBH close up! xoxoxoxoxoxo
You are beyond words the sweetest, most generous, most amazing woman ever. So excited about PBH. Take care my dear friend. xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxox

Beauty of a post, Resa. I love Leonard Cohen.
Thank you! LC is my fave poet from the 20th century.
A great one indeed
Wonderful, Resa. It’s always the right time for Leonard Cohen.
IKR!
I just adore Suzanne!
What a poet1
Oh yeah…
Enjoyed -thanks 🍃eco
You are welcome!
‘You can add up the parts, You won’t have the sum, You can strike up the march, There is no drum’ I suggest ‘no drum’ the metaphoric impotence of mankind…especially so ‘man’…in blissfully ignoring the fate of their cruel indifference beyond that which involves hard currency. What a remarkable…wonderful, even…post. Regards, The Old Fool (TOL)
Shucks! Thanks TOF!!
Leonard Cohen was a brilliant poet. I dig your take on the words you quoted.
OMG! I forgot my acronym!
Mind like a sieve.
So very beautiful. So perfect for what’s happening. Much love to you.
Thank you, Gi! Love to you, too! (&Em…& who you love)
Love that art! I think there should be a free bottle of lotion given away with every bottle of hand sanitizer…if you could find hand sanitizer anywhere. Even with soap and water you need that lotion but of course I guess if you stay home, you don’t have to wash your hands nearly as much. I’m home all this week, then going out for groceries and other things next week. Having just moved, there are household things we need, prosaic things such as toilet brushes. 🙂
Stay well!

IKR! My hands are like a cross between chicken feet and potato chips.
Glad to hear you are settling in, even though risking your life to do so. What insanity!
I’m out for supplies on Monday or Tuesday. I’ve been inside for 8 days today. The isolate at home has been in place here for almost a month.
You guys stay safe and be well. We are living in a sci-fi movie, and we don’t know the ending , yet! ❦
We had a shelter-in-home order our in Illinois for a little while before we moved. Arizona took a bit longer to have anything like that, but it’s in force now until the end of April, although perhaps it will be renewed. I’m heading out Monday and Tuesday for supplies as well, wearing a mask and disinfecting all the time. Now that we’re in a desert climate, lotion is a must in normal times so now it’s even worse. 🙂
Ah.. the lotion motion notion! LOL.
Hey, we will be out there on the same day. I’ll think of you!
Virtual ships passing in the grocery store. 🙂
…. let’s say carts passing! 😀
Ok…but only within 6’!!
Absolutely! Hey, we could go extra hip and do 7!
Wow, you are wild and crazy. LOL.
Amazing!!

Brought me in tears…I love this song and the words are relatable to what is going on right now.
Thank you for the light and for shining hope to the world. 🙂
Wonderful idea from your friend… I light a candle most days as I send out…. I heard nearly the whole of India also lit candles in sending healing thoughts out for the virus… So much love is pouring out as we give our thanks to those who are in service of others…
I believe the Light will win this battle for the Human resilience is strong …
Sending Love and Light your way Resa… And thanks to Francina… ❤ for her beautiful post ❤
Ah. Dear old Leonard… We miss his voice and words…
