Frog w/Squirrel Bonus

Possibly the best frog, ever, this is by Bruno Smoky on a garage door.

I want one!

As promised, here is the “Squirrel Bonus”!

  1. A masterpiece of whimsy. Such a talented artist! Love the squirrel too but I’m just blown away by all he beautiful colors and the beautiful flowers and delightful frog. Great shots Resa. ♥️

    1. Whimsy…. what a fab word for this.It also describes Bruno’s work in general. I heard about this garage door, and vowed to find it! I knew the general area. 3 hours, and 2 sore feet later, BINGO! Ribbit! Ribbit! 🐸❤️🐸

That is fantastic and so much better looking than a plain old garage door. And the Squirrel Nutkin bonus is wonderful.

    1. Aww, Squirrel Nutkin! You named him/her. You are so adorable. You must be a cat person.
Getting your garage door painted is a big thing in Toronto. I hope it keeps on growing!

Did you read “The Tale of Squirrel Nutkin” by Beatrix Potter when you were younger? It’s a wonderful story.

        1. No, but I know of Beatrice Potter. I’ll put it on my list, but I’m rereading Alice in Wonderland as soon as I can. It’s for an Art Gown project! Thank you Timothy! 😀

Alice in wonderland is great. I think you would enjoy Beatrice Potter’s stories. You could probably get some good Art Gown ideas out of them. One of my favorite quotes that I use a lot having a house full of cats is from “The Tale of Samuel Whiskers”: “All over the house! The rats are too many for me. What a thing it is to have an unruly family!” said Mrs. Tabitha Twitchit.

    1. Thanks, Isadora! It just doesn’t seem like enough to take 1 shot, and that’s that. I get a thrill when I see Street art that speaks to me, and I’m trying to share the experience. Resa 🙃

  3. Too, too sweet, Resa; both Frog and Squirrel… 🙂
I just thought – Wouldn’t it be cool to have hand painted murals such as these on the garage door/s. They could be changed to whatever you wanted, if you ever became bored with them!
    Hmmmm…. 🙂
Hope you little peepers are OK.. 🙂
    xoxoxo

    1. Ah, a new commercial idea for garage doors. 😀 Interesting! 😀 Peepers are on the mend! It’s a new way of seeing, and there will be a couple of months of adjustment. Basically it means I can’t legally drive until the adjustment period is over. I don’t care about driving! I can draw, sew and read. YAY! 😀 xoxoxo

  4. Oh I so so love that Frog… And his charm I am sure could turn him into a Prince.. 🙂
Sending LOVE and Hugs your way Resa.. And the Squirrel so cleverly created to use the main colour for his body of the brick work.. Excellent art.. 🙂

    1. I see your point, Frank. Honestly, there was not a moose to be found. 🦌&🐿I tried to find moose and squirrel emojis, but deer and chipmunk were the best I could come up with! 😀
