“If there is something to be changed in this world then it can only happen with MUSIC” – Jimi Hendrix
This is over a pub called “Pour Boy”.
I recognized Jimi immediately.
There was another face, but only a part of a face. For some reason, I got Robert Palmer stuck in my head.
This was my 3rd time here. It’s on a busy side street.. delivery trucks, cars parked or driving up and down, people galore. No room to take pics, until this day. I thought, I’ll grab Jimi, anyway.
As I was leaving, I saw this around the corner. Id never seen around the corner before.
Looks like Dylan to me!
Dead on, it did not make sense. I had to find the angle. Jimi recorded one of Dylan’s songs, “All Along the Watchtower”. I was angst over whose version to put here. Then I remembered Playing for Change. 🌟 Brilliant 🤩 A must see!

Those are great. You got some excellent pics. Busy streets make mural photography a challenge.
Thanks!
Do you think they would have come out better if I put the camera on high def?
Yes, busy streets … not..
Love it in the alleys. Not much action.
You would think, but you never know. The photos look great.
Thanks, Tim! xx
Very cool version of the song. I have seen other Playing for Change videos. Kind of cool that Preservation Hall in New Orleans let them film there.
As to art, yes, what a difference the angle makes! Even Jimi looks better from that angle. Sometimes you just have to know where to stand.
Their videos are inspiring.
” Sometimes you just have to know where to stand”.
Is it already a “saying”?
Should be the title of something.
Is it already a Title?
Googling it…. It seems to be an original. Well done!
I agree with you.
I’ll have to write a story and turn it into a movie 😉 “She is an artist who paints on distorted surfaces. Her work only makes sense when seen from one particular spot. She divorces her abusive, politician husband to work on her art full time. After he starts catering to a neo-facist group, she takes a break from the art world to run for office against him in this zany, rom-com political thriller!” lol, it just might work
So I am about 1/2 done with the short story I described above. lol. I have to blame on you. Unless it is good, of course, in which case I will give you credit for inspiration.
Go! I love it!
I see Furniture polish and politics. Brilliant! xx
Not sure about the furniture polish, but maybe it can be added in… lol
Lol!
How’s writing going? Was quite neat seeing you run with it!
I wrote about 5 pages (2000 words) so far. This is quickly moving from “short story” to “long story”! lol I’ll keep going for now, but will decide later if it is worth continuing, if maybe I should save it for later or perhaps shelve it for good.
Amazing. It was a neat burst. Maybe you can make it feel like a long story, but then it ends abruptly, without really ending…. like an unfinished horror.
Anyway, the phrase is great. You could write a song, or some music!
OK, I just finished. There is an end, but it is before the election, so not a final end. The bad guy is a little unrealistic, but I did use a real person as a model. Well, I think the model is real because nobody could dream up that nightmare. I might go ahead and post it tomorrow, rough draft though it may be.
And maybe I will write a song as well… We’ll see. Never know where inspiration will lead…
👍 i’ll check tomorrow to see if it’s posted!
Bob Dylan looks a bit like Joe Biden!
Hahahahaha!!!!
Still, I get what you mean. It’s a lot about the sunglasses, I think.
Playing for Change was a brilliant solution, Resa. Loved your capture of the two of them. Well done.
Thanks John! It was about time I did this one, but I never saw the full second face.
Love video. Playing for Change has more. They are all excellent! 💋🐂💋🧽
I have seen a number of them and you are right. They are terrific.
Thank you, Resa, for showing more great street art! And that multicultural version of “All Along the Watchtower” you posted is amazing! (I love the Jimi Hendrix cover, too.)
This piece was confusing, until I saw around the corner.
Playing for Change has several amazing videos.
I love the Jimi version, but Dylan did write it.I was torn as to which to use. Then I remembered this one.
A great “compromise”!
I hadn’t heard “All Along the Watch Tower” in years. I really like the version you chose.
Thanks Liz! I’m glad I didn’t have to chose between Bib and Jimi! This was a great solution.
You’re welcome, Resa!
What a wonderful reminiscence to these great musicans. Put me on the place of this wonderful artist, and you would have to wait four weeks, only for a sketch on paper. Lol Thanks for sharing, Resa! Enjoy your week! xx Michael
Thank you, Michael!
My week was pretty good. May the next week be great for you!
You know, I still can’t get on your blog. I always get a “Coming Soon” page?
xx Resa
I’d like to visit your blog more, if I could get there! xx
Love that song, Resa, and what a great mural. I just can’t get over the variety and creativity of everything you find. 🙂
The video is fantastic!
Street art is still a happening here in Toronto. There are a lot of artists putting it out there. This accounts for the variety. Hope it lasts as long as I do! Lol! xo
You make me want to visit Toronto and just wander the streets. 😀
Great version of the song here, and what a double feature mural with two legends of the music industry. I had never heard of Playing For Change until now, but I’m gonna check out more of their work. Thanks for sharing, Resa.🙂
It’s a great find for sure. Street art pieces of famous people are few and far between, but every once in awhile, I find one.
“Playing for Freedom” has more great videos.
I’m a Hendrix fan all the way so I pick his version 🙂
Understood! xoxoxo
who hoo – Hendrix
I know! Unforgettable!
A brilliant mural, Resa. Your photography has great and unexpected perspectives that capture our imagination. Love the Playing for Change video. Jimi Hendrix was right.
These are two of my fave music makers. Playing for change videos are mesmerizing!
Hendrix was right. He would have been 80 on November 27 this year. {{{hugs}}}
Right…. Sitting here now with Tim’s latest blog. Last night it was sitting in the tabs with some other blogs and then i shut the net down AHHHH. before i could say. Love it/
No worries! I do that all the time! Lol!
Love you! xxoo
Good to know you do too!! I just aye put the favs to the side and then come back to them but that does risk shutting down the pc without doing that.
It was much easier when I had 100 followers, would get 10 likes and 2 comments! LOL!
But not as much fun…. xoxox
Couldn’t agree more xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Also my Mr has been a huge Dylan fan for as long as I ahve known him. THAT is why i thought Oh i must say to Resa and was right over to do so……..LOL
Lol!
I adore Dylan. My man used to not be able to stand him. However, he now cedes to the brilliance of his song writing, but prefers other better singers singing them.
Oh he cannae sing!! It makes it all the more remarkable that he’s such a giant. And I remember one night there was a documentary on about some very early folk convention and it was plain he got better as he went along. Of course when I said that to my man he went berserk! Also he is interesting in that he does not have a lot of danceable songs. which often makes a song. We were saying that the other week when the mr had a big b/day bash and like that it came down to a Daylan number. We always choose, ‘ I want you’, cos we struggle to find a dancy one.
True, Dylan is not known for his disco chops. Then again neither was Hendrix. ALTHOUGH, you can do The Egg to Hendrix and Zeppelin.
Lol. You are so right.
Resa, Hendrix’ cover of Dylan’s “All along the watchtower” is the best of all Dylan covers, maybe with the exception of Peter, Paul and Mary’s “Blowin’ in the wind.” By the way, Joan Osborne does a great cover album of many of Dylan’s love songs as well as a few others. Keith
It’s a great song, and yes, Hendrix does the best cover. Joan Osborne…will check it out! Thanks, Keith!
Very cool, Resa! Photos, music–you, too, of course. 😏
Thank you, Merril! Love the music! 💙🎼💙
You’re very welcome. 💙
Oh, Resa what a brilliant mural! Great angle and loved the video too!
Mouah, dahling!!!!!

The photos are awesome!
Thank you, Chris!!!
I’ll be by later.
Resa, this is wonderful. Beautiful.
Thank you, Gi!!!!
In the city you have to work with the angle you can get but these looked great. Thanks for being so persistent. 🙂
Glad you got to see this. I saw this 3 times before I noticed the bit around the corner. Suddenly it all made sense. xx

GREAT write, Trent!!!!
This is so awesome Resa! What a find! Dylan and Hendrix, together. You’re the best dear Meece, thanks for finding and sharing this. It so rocks! xoxoxo
Reblogged this on House of Heart and commented:
Thank you Resa, this is awesome!
Love this one, two of the greats, and personal favs of mine.
You and me both, Daniel! Glad you got to see this. Did you just love the video?
Yes I love that video what is weird in a cosmic sort of way is I saw that video about five days ago or so, and was thinking about writing something as I listened to the music. I think it made a wonderful statement to your capturing of this mural. P.S. You ever find Zeppelin in a mural I can die in peace. 😉
LOLOL!
Dear Daniel, if I do find Zeppelin in a mural, you will be the first to know. Of course, you will have to bank the “die in peace” moment.
Playing for Change has other videos. Check them out! xx
Ha ha. I definitely will check out more on Playing for Change.
I love the name of that pub, Pour Boy! And of course Jimi is one of my all time favorites because how could he not be? It was so cool going to Woodstock and then making the trip out to the site of that concert. The museum houses several of his guitars as well as his jacket and lemme tell you, it was a religious experience to be there.
That’s interesting! So, there’s like a Woodstock Music Festival museum there. Very cool, and I believe it was a religious experience.
Obvi, you are still captivated.
I did costumes on a Hendrix movie for Showtime. OMG, the stories!
I’m still captivated. It was a peak, for me.
There is. It borders the venue, so you can spend an afternoon doing the museum and walking the grounds where the concert took place. SO SMALL! It’s amazing to think they fit that many people in there.
Of course you did! And I bet they were gloriously funky and cool.
Looooooong story! I’ll get around to it! LOL!
Can’t wait. 🙂
MUAH!!!
MUAH!!!
What a duo in the artwork! AWESOME
Agree!! xo
Fabulous street art, Resa. Your finds never cease to amaze me.
Lol, sometimes the amaze me too! xx
Fab post, Resa! Great shots of the murals. I had no idea that Dylan wrote Watchtower. My favorite cover of it has been Tom Ellis (Lucifer). I can’t wait to play the video. Thanks for putting this gem together and sharing it. You made a lovely composition of it. Hugs on the wing.
OMG! I have not seen a Playing for Change video that I didn’t like… but this is my favorite one yet. Loved it. ❤
❤❤
Thank you, Teagan!
Yes… I do know that cover. It is simply fabulous.
A great song, loved by many! {{hugs}}
What a great find, Sorceress. And luck be a lady to have access to take the proper pics! What a great name for a pub, too. Smart choice on the musical version – that way you don’t put one over the other. They definitely each had/have their place.
Thunder!
Love these two musicians. Their time and place was rich. So much happening for youth: messages, protests, depth, poetry with the music and great guitar! xoxoxo
I feel like watching the video….Again!
Sorceress!
I do, too. It truly was a special time. xoxo
xoxo
💞
Wow Resa… these are truly amazing captures of 2 amazing musicians and that song! Truly a great find and love that you got them.
Thanks for sharing them with all of us~!
Rock solid post my friend❣️
Cool!
Yeah, these two have earned big places in music history. xo
they really have!!🔥
🔥🔥🔥🔥
🔥🔥
Excellent shots Res, and definitely Dylan! 🙂 ❤
Wish I could find more musician murals! xoxo
I think you will , lol 🙂 xxx
OBOY! 🙂 xxx
Brilliant indeed. I didn’t know about the watchtower. One learns every day, right?
True! Learning is endless.
Sometimes I learn something I already know, but now I know it better.
Very true. One tends to forget that. 🙏🏻
