First I gasped, at the beauty of the entire mural.
Then I singled out the face & said – It’s Holly, poet whose hair is “a tangle of stars”. Now she and her soft brown eyes are in a tangle of jungle.
If ever there was a mural as lovely as her poetry, this is it.
Love the tiger!
This detail, as well as the tiger’s stripes are painted in metallic gold and silver.
The shadows are painted on her face.
Some close up details.
Leonard Cohen recites words to a Joni Mitchell song. Herbie Hancock accompanies on piano.
It’s another kind of jungle: and deep in this jungle, in an alley, I found the jungle mural.

That is a beautiful jungle featuring Holly. Everything is lovely: the cat, the flowers, the foliage, the bugs. What a fantastic find.
Tim, I went a bit nuts when I found this. I think I took over 200 pics, just in case.
Agree, so much wonderfulness in this mural. The bugs are a bit large, but I rationalized that they are only painted. So I calmed down. Besides, what’s a jungle without bugs? xo
Jungle bugs are more common than jungle bunnies. Or so I think.
The bugs in the jungle are probably the size of rabbits. I’m not going. The mural jungle is enough for me! xx
No Bungle in the Jungle for you?
Oh gawd no. I can barely bungle through Best Buy to get a new washing machine. It’s hell! xo
I can’t Eeeeven get through Best Buy.
I’m forced to agree, Becky! lol xo
This is a beautiful mural! The artist was able to achieve a lot of depth, particuarly with the flower and the face.
True! Love this mural. So much talent, and one of the places they can get their work noticed is in the street!
I love how you’re introducing these artists to an international audience–us!
Hello Resa….you beat me to it! I was going to mention the shadows, they are one of the hardest things to replicate in traditional art let alone with a spray can! And then there are the colours beneath the shadows….just WOW! You keep finding more and more outstanding murals.
I think more artists are out there painting, and as they do they keep improving.
Agree, painting with a spray can is a huge challenge, especially on a mural as detailed as this.
Thank you for your enjoyable comment, Tyeth!
I can hardly wait to go looking again!
This is absolutely fantastic. And yes…it’s Holly xxxxxxxxxxxxx
It is Holly!
I was transfixed to this mural when I first saw it!
I like very much the link between your mural presentation and Holly . Very good, Resa.
Thank you, Michel!
I find Holly in many alleys!
Oh wow! I’m beside myself, this is a gorgeous work of art dear Resa! I’m so thrilled that you dedicated this beautiful jungle scene to me. I love jungle animals and all animals and this imaginative artist has intermingled our human nature with all the beautiful creatures and wild flowers and created a world where all live together in peace and love. Thank you for finding and and sharing the amazing art that is out there. Thank you for allowing me to be among the beauty of this mural, I completely adore you. xoxoxo
OMG! Don’t you just love Leonard’s voice?
So amazing, I’m speechless!

I simply adore you, too!
It’s crazy how many alley art finds I have found, and you are there.
It’s like you are a universal subject, thrown into messages of love, excitement, dreams and more….. via alley art.
I think it has to do with your poetry.
The arts love to encompass beauty. Yes, they also send us messages, warnings of danger and other not so nice realities…
Nonetheless, it’s the depth of love and beauty in our arts we seek to expose & embrace.
You are so much fun… Boogapony, AGM Holly, RR & PBH.
❤️xoxoxo ❤️. Having fun with the Meeces keeps me going and it’s all because you are so delightful lovely ! 🥂
We’ll have to think of more antics for the Meeces to get up to! xoxoxo 🥂 So much fun!
It’s high time for some antics. Let the good times roll 👯♀️🎶🍷🍷xo
Oh goody! Now we are Fairy Meece! 🥂🧚🏼🧚🏼xo
Sweet! Fairie Meece Rock.
Oh, what a great name for a female rock band!!!! xoxoxo
Wonderful post, Resa. Congratulations to Holly for this lovely piece.
It’s her poetry. She has a special way with words and metaphors, ideas and flow.
I see her a lot in the alleys. 🐂🐂🐂
Did you lose one of Marie’s 🐂en?
The traffic is heavy here.
Anything could have happened. Poor cars.
OH, wait… here it is! 🐂 was chasing 🍰.
For a moment I thought, maybe the 🐐 ate it… you know, they will eat anything in their path. But even then….
Well, no worries the 🐂 is back. Unfortunately, the cake is gone!
Here is more. 🍰 🍰 🍰 🍰 Thank heavens you found that 🐂
Ah… the cake! ox 🐂 🍰 ox 🐂
You might want to keep the cake portions down. I’ve gained enough weight over the last 2 years!
Well it doesn’t show . . .does it? 👀
Mmmm, I was always too thin, except my butt, damn thing hung on no matter what. (Huh, no ass emoji, as in donkey))
I guess I’m average, now.
So eat relax and eat cake. 😁
Agree! What a thrill t was to find this!
you are like a paleontologist, making amazing discovers all over
I need to get a pith helmet!!!!
and a vest with lots of pockets
Hahaha! Will do!
This is amazing. Gorgeous, and perfect in every way. The artwork is beautiful and so are you.
Aww, thanks Gi! It really is a wonderful mural!

I love the video as well. As I said. Perfect.
Gorgeous mural, Resa! I like the parts, but I really love seeing the whole thing.
And the video–I played it for my husband. We both know the Joni Mitchell song, but we didn’t know this version with Leonard Cohen and Herbie Hancock. He said he’s going to play it over and over.
It’s a great mural! Love Joni, and when I bumped into this version of the song, I melted. So happy your husband likes it! 💙🎼
Thanks for sharing, Resa! 💙
What a stunningly beautiful work of art. And one can see the Poetess Holly looking out from one of her ethereal poems.
Yes! It’s a universal beauty.
OMG … There’s a lot of beauty in this one. Great find Resa!
Thanks, it’s a stunner!!!!!
So is she!
Really amazing art. I love the metallic silver and gold on the tiger. People refer to busy cities as being jungles in a negative way, but there’s nothing but positives when it comes to this jungle.
I’m a huge fan of alleys here in Toronto. They are outdoor art galleries, at times. If not, there’s always other food for thought.
Some can survive the urban jungle better than others. I adore big cities!
Toronto is on my bucket list. I have been to Montreal twice, but still want to get to Toronto at some point!
yes, nice one! btw, i’m seeing britt ekland there
Yes, Brit is beautiful. I can see it, too! xo
Surreal, etheric, from beyond, breathtaking ….. these words and more come to mind in describing this incredibly heart touching art. What a find!! Thank you so much for sharing, Resa!
You are welcome Amy! It was a thrill to find this, and to share it! Hope you are well! 🌹💓
I’m feeling the best I have in a very long time, Resa! Thank you!! Hope you are well too!!!! Bless you!
Bless you, Amy!
Oh my gosh, Sorceress… This is such an outstanding find.. My goodness it is gorgeous. You must have stood there dumbstruck at first, trying to take it all in. And then, of course, you captured it perfectly.
And Leonard Cohen, Joni Mitchell and Herbie Hancock… Ohhhh… what a voice and what a beautiful creation in and of itself.
Thunder, this was a special find. The entire alley is painted with art. Of course, it’s totally like me to use the best first, and save the rest for later.
I’m still working on my monster commission. It looks close to done, then I can get back to drawing AGMs &sewing the new Art Gown.
My goodness was it ever! And why not show us the best first? It is awesome to the nines. Oooh… Nice going on the monster commission 🙂 I’m sure it’s wonderful.
You are a busy woman!
Busy, yes. I wish there were more awake hours in a day! xoxo
If there were, you’d find a way to overfill them, too (I call it the purse syndrome… the bigger it is, the more sh*t you put into it…) xoxo
Great analogy. I’m going to call it purse syndrome from now on. xoxo
Hahaha!! Happy to supply… xoxo
Oh, my…. what an amazingly beautiful mural! I see Holly too and I’m in love with the tiger and all the details! Wow!!!! xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo
Goodness, Resa, that mural is utterly stunning. No wonder you gasped. I’m not sure I would have been able to pull my eyes away. And it does look like Holly. Thanks for filling my morning with beauty. ❤ ❤ ❤
Yeah, murals like this don’t come along every day. I did find a few other sweet pieces in that alley. xxxxxx
I can imagine that they’re less common. But so worth discovering. It was gorgeous!
Wow, Resa — that’s the most beautiful mural you’ve found yet. And you are so kind in the ways you forever support your friends.
The way the artist captured light and shadow is amazing. Hugs on the wing.
Thank you, Teagan!
Yes, it is one gorgeous mural. Murals like this don’t grow on trees! A lucky find, for sure. HUGS!!!
(1) I adore gardening. (2) I adore women. SOOOOO this one is a hit with me!!
I’m with you on both points!
I’ll be leaving this up for awhile. Give me a bit of a chance to catch up visiting bloggers and drawing! xoxoxo
This is hot stuff Resa. And of course you found it and put it to song like only you can do.
It’s like swimming in warm velvet, this gallery of yours.
Really catching, and one of your finest finds. I agree Holly is a fitting comparison. 🙂
Agree!!! 🙂 🙂
This really is a wonderful mural, Resa. I love the jungle. This is the Indian jungle. I do like the shadows on the girl’s face, they make her face so mysterious and intriguing.
Ah… the Indian Jungle! What tipped you off?
I adore the shadows too!
Haha, the tiger. So many people think you get tigers here in South Africa.
I just learned something. Thank you, Roberta!!!!!!!!!!
Wow!!! Truly wonderful. Thanks for sharing 👍😀
Best wishes ✨✨💫📷💫✨✨
Agree, and sharing is my pleasure! ✨✨💫📷💫✨✨
This mural is one of the most beautiful I ever have seen! Wow!
Have a fine weekend, and stay safe, dear Resa.
Agree! Adore you!
Take care & I’ll be by soon!
Another treasure that brings life to a city. I was gasping with you because the face IS Holly. It is indeed a poetess jungle, Resa.
You have the golden eye, girl. You find the most beautiful art, and this one is just gorgeous. Hugs xxx
Thank you Debby! I’ve been Thanksgiving AWOL for a few daze! Lol! Hope yours was good, in spite of your lonely heart! Now to catch up blogging a bit.
I’m the worst! xxx
Lol, you’re so funny. But you always get there Resa, and that’s what counts. My Thanksgiving came and went, I hope yours was much more interesting. 🙂 xx
I like quiet holidays. xoxoxo
My life now. 🙂 xx

Lol, no worries, Great to see you around. Yes, I can’t quit the street art scene. As long as the artists paint, I’ll take pics. Take care, and I’ll pop by you, soon! xoxoxoxo
What a wonderful post and dedication Resa. Yes, there is an air of Princess Holly. 🤗
Thank you, Brian! Well, it’s not like I painted it, but I found it and took pics! 🤗🤗🤗
I know, but you are one of the two bloggers who sparked my interest (and love) for murals. You don’t paint them, but you give them diffusion. “Worldwide”. Without you, I’d never have seen it.
