Turquoise Nefertiti

Adore this!

It’s a new painting on a patio down the street from me.

When I got there, a green clothed table was already in place. There was only a couple of angles to shoot, that did not capture some green, or obliterate the face altogether. Oddly, some of my fave shots are the distorted angles I was using to NOT see the green cloth.

I nicely asked the man who was setting up the patio, if he would please move the table for a few shots (about 35) LOL! He was kind enough to do so. I thanked him profusely!

  1. Yeah, the green plastic definitely added nothing to the aethetics of the scene. When I taught high school, the kids and I painted my classroom this color. (Kids picked it out.) It was startling, to say the least.

    1. Agree! It was just one of those things. I saw her, and my camera was out before I thought ALRIGHT!
The paint was fresh, a couple of days old.
Street art takes a weather beating, so it’s always a bonus to find a fresh one.
      xoxoxo

        1. Yeah!!
OMG! They jammed on “Gimme Shelter”… sooo good!!!!! Fantastic!
Dear Meece… they played “Fly Like an Eagle”.xxxxxxx
It was not as rocky as usual, but it was perfect, and I could feel that they wanted to fly away from all the crap on earth. xoxoxox
Then they jammed on “Jumpin’ Jack Flash”
(I asked if it was recorded. N said maybe. I’ll bug him later)

  2. You did get some cool angles. But I’m glad he was kind enough to move the table. Great mural. Our dinky little town has a mural project on September 4th – 10 murals! I’m going to be Resa for a day and take tons of photos. 🙂

    1. Thank you!
      OBOY!!!
Are you going to post them?
If you don’t want to post them on your blog, I’m thrilled to do a guest post here on you/them!

      1. Miles is one of my favorites, and the people he played with in the late 60s, just way! The alumni from his bands are the who’s who of fusion and beyond (At this very second Weather Report is playing at random on my computer – I didn’t search this one out…)

    1. Yeah.. love her!
OH, Thunder, I drew AGM Dale in pencil last night! Came out fab. Looks like the next adventure will have pencils drawings. (Due to my ongoing learning to draw tartan, and motorcycles). xxx
Will mail her to you soon!

      1. She’s really gorgeous.
Oh! You did? How cool is that? Love it… Hey, I’m gonna have to show you my new look… I’ve got this great (well, I think so) silver streak in my hair that is now past my shoulders 😉
        Can’t wait to see!

      1. Even though I’ve given up on smoking…Lord only knows why…I only ever sit outside of a café, young Resa. I love watching the world go by. I see that ‘pot stop café’ of yours has tables on the street the way they should be. Oh that I could remember where I parked my time machine, I fancy a decent cup and it’s pouring with rain here. Regards, TOF

  3. What a beauty! I love all your shots and sure am glad this kind person moved that green from the scene. Green and turquoise look beautiful together but somehow they’ve managed to find the only green that doesn’t!
    Turquoise Nefertiti rocks!
⚗… that was the only bit of turquoise I could find in emoji! 🤣
    ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

    1. LOLOL! I know what you mean about green and turquoise together. I like that combo, too. However, this green is almost day glow. A jewel tone would have been better. OR, black.
No turquoise emoji hey! 🦃 I found a TURK ey. 🎽 and a running shirt!
      ❦🤣❦🤣❦🤣❦🤣❦🤣❦🤣❦🤣❦🤣❦🤣❦🤣❦🤣❦🤣
      Happy you like the shots!

      1. Those emoji people… honestly!!!!
Isn’t it a great combination? Yes more like emerald or lime-ish greens, chartreuse. 😉

  4. She is stunning–and that turquoise is such a vivid, beautiful color! Thanks for sharing. It was nice of the man to move the table for your photos. Is it a restaurant?
Marina is right about the table coverings. Perhaps blue would have worked better (though they might pick the wrong shade for that, too.) 😀

    1. Yeah, it’s a restaurant… food and pot..I think.
Not sure if there’s a liquor license, but for sure they have a pot license.
I would have gone for black table covers.
It was really nice of that man to move the table for me.
If there was no one there, I probably would have breached the fence, and moved it myself. I would have moved it back after!
      LOL! 😀

        1. 😂 I know, right!
          Well, it’s legal in Canada.
The pot dispensaries, boutiques, cafes & etc. have not only survived Covid, but have flourished.
I have 4 on my block:1 head shop, 2 cannabis dispensaries, and a Marijuana Emporium!
The government has done well with licenses, fees and taxes.
Only take-out food places have done as well.

          1. It’s legal in some states here, but not in others–it does seem to be a money maker. How alcohol is sold depends on the state, too. Here in NJ, we can’t buy wine, beer, or hard liquor in grocery stores, but in some states you can.

  5. Resa – this is a brilliant portrait from the side. And the turquoise colour brings out a calm clarity of vision. I looked up the meaning of turquoise and found it is associated with meanings of refreshing, feminine, calming, sophisticated, energy, wisdom, serenity, wholeness, creativity, emotional balance, good luck, spiritual grounding, friendship, love, joy, tranquility, patience, intuition, and loyalty. My dear friend, that is a perfect description of you!!! Sending many many hugs!

    1. Aww! Love the meaning of turquoise! I’m honored that you have applied it to me.
      I was swept off my feet when I saw this. Two days before… there was nothing. Always a treat! {{{hugs}}}

  6. Absolutely impressive!
It’s not my color and I never use it in my paintings, but love the neckless which I got in Mexico.
I love these images, and I noticed you had changed your profile picture and, yes, time flies. I’m sorry it took me so long to revisit your blog.
Well, as soon as I start giving art classes, there’s no time for anything.
I loved everything about these images.

    1. Thank you. Inese!
No worries about visiting! I’m a bit scattered about that, not the most diligent!
It was a lot easier when I had 100followers and followed 100. 2 or 3 would comment.
Now, I keep it enjoyable by knowing this is enjoyment for me, not a job.
I do what I feel I can, when I can!
So glad you like this art!
      Take Care!!!

  7. Thank you for sharing all these beautiful murals Resa. I love this mural and always come away refreshed from my visits to your blog. I’m sure seeing the murals in person is even better. I’m happy to see more murals popping up in our town and around the country.
