Face w/ Cat Bonus

I liked this a lot when I found it in Kensington Market.

It fell into the un-posted hoards in my photos archives.

Due to the lockdown, I haven’t been able to leave my extended hood for over a year.

Holly – House of Heart suggested I comb my photos stash. I found about 50 pieces. Thank you, dahling!

The Artist:

CAT BONUS

This cat has been on top of the world, ever since I can remember. It’s on the way out of Kensington Market, on Dundas West.

Hopefully the stash will help until some more art pops up in my walking zone.

That’s a great mural, although I find the green “whites” of her eyes strange. Cats are on top top the world that’s a wonderful piece. It’s amazing what you find in the archives. Thank you Holly for asking Resa to do some digging.

  2. Well, you know I LOVE the cat…always. The mural is beautiful, the colors wonderful, and she’s lovely. I didn’t know you couldn’t leave your neighborhood. Blah. Hope that changes soon.

    1. Me too! I need to get around. Blah is right.

I can get Norm to drive me to somewhere and walk back. That day was a 4 hour walk back home.
The powers that be, on Friday, said police could stop us and ask where we are going. $750.00 fine, if you are not going shopping, or are in an area that is not close to home.
They could also pull over cars, to make sure people were going to work, and not to visit someone.
By Saturday, they took it back, due to it being unconstitutional.
However, the numbers are really awful here, and we keep running out of vaccine.
      I’m wearing 3 masks and a shield.

    1. Thank you Trent, and I hope so, too.
I want to walk and explore.
Covid has messed up our lives …let me rephrase that…Covid and our failed/failing leaders have effed us up.
I have no faith in religious institutions, government and more or less, half of my countrymen.
Uncle Joe has done a good job with the vaccinations. It’s being undone by others.
I want to see him win!

  3. Jolly good to see said moggie as a ‘cat on frozen paw artic’ instead of his bossy brother on a ‘hot tin roof’. Your cat plainly has a tad more panache, young Resa, Best regards ~ TOF

    1. Now that you mention it,TOF, it is on the Arctic!
      Cats sure get around.
Someone lives eye level to the cat. Neat to see the Arctic Paw Cat every morning.
I wonder if it brings good luck?

      1. I am rather keen on cats. They have a mind of their own, young Resa. You might have discovered a new breed, ‘The Artic Paw Cat’ aka TAPC. Regards, TOF

        1. OMG! The TAPC Cat! Everyone won’t know what we are talking about!
Hehehehe… yet another secret society, with TOF at the helm.

  4. Oh, I’m so glad Holly made that suggestion! [xoxo]
Strong mural but that cat steals the show, really!!! 😉
Someone next to me suggested there should be one with a dog on top of the world and I’m pretty sure she’s thinking of herself, or maybe her and her friends together…. okay maybe all animals on top of the world! 🤣😂🤣😂🐾🐾🐾🧡🤗🧡

    1. Ahh, Hera on top of the world… YES! It’s definitely a fab idea.
Of course we are going to need a very large WORLD sculpture, and a lot of sponges.
OR… we could use the world we have, and do right by our animals, and all of nature!
      Love ya, dahling!

    1. Some murals, big ones commissioned by the city, or companies live a long time. They are taken care of and touched up. I see some that are at least 10 years old.
      Street art is more temporary.
A respected piece can last several years, before it is tagged over. Then another artist will paint over that.
Graffiti Alley in Toronto is always evolving. Artists are constantly painting over art. Art over art over art.
I try to document as much as possible.
      Thank you for asking! ❤

  5. Holly has brilliant ideas! I am so glad that you have a photo stash waiting to be discovered once again. It is like meeting up with a good friend for coffee to catch up on what has happened since last the last meeting.

  6. That cat looks like our Nemo! And he would love being on top of the world as he adores when he’s the center of attention! OK he demands it, actually, lol. That’s great that you found a bunch of photos from your stash. I hope that soon you will be able to get out and explore outside of your hood again xx

  7. The mural is beautiful. I love the colors. And the cat is pure fun. We have painted cows in Portland, OR. I love street art. Can’t wait to see what else you find in your stash!

    1. Yeah… searching away!
We used to have painted moose. There’s only a couple left. They were mostly vandalized. Go figure?
