I find this piece beyond interesting. I found it in an alley, twice.
The first time was on May 6, 2020. There were no leaves on the trees, it was sunny and the bare branches’ shadows made a veil on her face.
The next time was June 8, 2020. The leaves had grown in on the trees, and the sun was in a different position. The shadows made a lacy frame.

The Artist:
That is an intriguing mural. I’m not sure what I think about it.
Intriguing is a good word for it. I’m fascinated by it, although I have no idea what it means.
Thanks Tim!
I can’t think of what it means, either, but it doesn’t seem positive to me. That’s why I don’t really know what to think about it.
Ahh, I hadn’t thought of it in terms of positive, or any thought or feeling. I actually don’t feel anything about this one. It just intrigues me in an oddball abstract way.
I think it’s amazing that you got the reaction you did.
Anyway, I had this ready to go, and needed a break from Graffiti Alley.
Working on the last 2 posts. The last one will be MLK JR. So I end it on a positive note.
That’s cool to see it both times, and I’m loving the creativity of it!
I know. It’s crazy, but it’s creative, neat and I wonder!
A fascinating work of streetart.
I did watch a documentary film about Toronto today evening. Wow! What a town! I hope I can visit it one day… When they showed the Graffiti Alley I did think of you.
I’m so honoured you thought of me when they showed Graffiti Alley!
Toronto is a very modern city, with lots of amenities. We have a bit of old architecture, but much has been ripped down to make it shiny and new, and to create a sharp skyline.
It’s unfortunate about Covid 19, because we were a HUGE restaurant city. It was very wonderful.
Now we will have to see who survives, and then what happens.
Things will be different, but I think Toronto will be at the forefront, again!
They showed some od brick stone buildings, former breweries, where nowadays is a centre of culture, restaurants and bars. I would love so much to see this one day. And to visit the little village Niagara on the Lake, because of the great variety of Ice Wines.
You will love it! You are talking of the Distillery District! It’s wonderful there.
If you go to Niagara on the Lake, you will have to pass through Niagara Falls, which is spectacular.
It’s a great one, and you photographed and arranged it so well. It’s amazing what they’re doing in Toronto.
Thank you, Bumba!
Toronto is street art MAD! It’s wonderful!
What a remarkably interesting ‘place’ to paint. A 45 degree curved concrete canvas is ‘surreal’ methinks, the result in its own rather special way, an illogical perfection. I rather liked this, Resa. Regards, TOF
Glad you like it TOF!
Although the curved building is actually the Pano setting on my IPhone.
Yes, the secret is out! I take all the photos on this blog with my old IPhone!
It’s an interesting piece, for sure!
Very interesting concept.
IKR!!!!
It’s breathtaking and evocative, Resa. It looks the way I sometimes feel. You captured it perfectly. Thanks for sharing this with us. Hugs on the wing.
I know we all feel a bit in pieces these days. {{{HUGS}}}
This is a favorite.
It’s different… original… I think. I’m drawn to looking at it.
Me too
A mysterious beauty that changes with the seasons. We all love intrigue! xo
IKR!!!!
It is an intriguing piece.
(Just sent the first official Boogapony/Hendrix drawing)
Jeep really loves Jimi!! Wow!
Haha! She’s a cool cat! I love the sketch!
YAY!!

Trying to do a gown based on his black velvet vest with gold braid trim…. the one he wore at Monterey Pop Festival!

That would be fabulous. Can’t wait for the Hendrix throw down.

This is so cool. Love the leaf-free and fully-leaved versions.
It is strange and cool all at the same time.
Would love to know what the artist was thinking…
I’d like to know what the artist was thinking, too.
Agree…. strange and cool.
I was very happy to get both versions. I hadn’t planned on returning. It just happened…. kinda like Thunder.
What a great set of photos of an interesting painting. I really like that you shared the with and without leaves images. My favourite of your photographs in this set is the second to last with the blue sky with the painting framed with the shadows. Very nice 🙂
Have a great weekend, Best wishes, Mr C
PS – Did you notice Phlegm has free artwork downloads available in his online shop! It’s a really nice gesture while we are in tough times. He suggested that children might like to colour in his drawings 🙂
https://phlegmcomic.myshopify.com
Agree! I am quite drawn to that photo, too.
Thank you for noting the with and without leaves variations.
I do try and take a comprehensive study of the art with my photo selections.
You have a great rest of the weekend and a fab week ahead!
I will check out the Phlegm site, thank you, Mr. C! 😀
The first thought that came to mind was by Carl Gustav Jung: Wholeness is not achieved by cutting off a portion of one’s being, but by integration of the contraries.” This is a brilliant symbol for bringing our whole being into place. Love this artist – imaginative and comes from a deep understanding of the human condition. Wonderful photo captures, Resa!
It has two meanings for me, Rebecca. 1) The things I can see, hear, and think are not always a match for what it’s acceptable to say.
2) The things I see, hear, and think sometimes just don’t fit together at all. 🙂
This image is truly worth a thousand words.
Goosebumps, Teagan. Yes, that is an excellent thought. What I love about art is that it tells our story. And it truly is worth a thousand words.
Agree! You may or may not like the piece itself, but it is saying something….. or a lot!!!!!
✍︎🎨⊅⚔︎
Great thoughts, Teagn!
You really tapped into an essence of this piece!
Thank you!
✍︎🎨⊅⚔︎
Thanks Rebecca, re: the captures!
I haven’t read much Jung, but this is a great thought and perfect for the mural.
Who knows, perhaps this artist was inspired by that exact quote?
What a fabulous work of art. So beautifully done. It’s wonderful.
Totally agree!
Wow! You find major art დ
It’s Toronto. The artists won’t stop painting, and the city wants them to keep painting.
There are LOTS of artists. Not all artists can afford to have a gallery show, or are DISCOVERED and someone pays for a show.
This is a way their art can be seen.
Okay, now I’m coming from an altogether different position. What I see here (apart from superb artistry) is an artist whose talent is so incredibly fantastic that he can create almost whimsically a complicated canvas as though it is merely the norm – all in a day’s work/love.
Oh, what an absolute show-off… 🙂
xoxoxo
Yes, a show off; a very talented show off, as you said.
I am very happy he showed off on this garage, in an alley.
Oddly, alleys are the safest place in the city, these days.
I barely see a soul, and my mask stays on.
However, I see lots of art. It’s like having an art gallery all to myself. I hope no one catches on! 😀
xoxoxoxo
Hahah… Lots of luck keeping it to yourself.
Once again – This image is truly so good. There are so many wonderful artistic folk. I’m in awe! 🙂
Great piece of street art
Agree! Glad you got to see it, Helen!
To me it represents how disjointed and coming apart we all feel. This brought chills to my spine, Resa.
I can certainly agree with that interpretation. It looks freshly painted, so it just might be what the artist meant. ❦🌹❦
I just want to say how beautiful your lilacs and peonies were, if only for a few days. Lilacs are my very favourite flower. As always, your photography gets better and better, and that blue heron shot with no stabilization is brilliant!
{ {hugs}}
Magnificent. Thanks for walking us through the shadows of the branches and leaves. This was an outstanding post. Great content, great photos. Thanks Resa.
You’re welcome Dave!!!
My fave part is the changed shadows, and I’m glad you liked them, too!
Very interesting, in a Si Fy kind of way, but I really like it. I could see this looking different to someone every time they see it. 🙂
Agree, and it looks a bit different from every angle.
Art is a very interesting happening! 😀
Yes it is. 😀
These are amazing! I may draw something like that. Thank you so much for sharing! I hope you and your family are well
You draw, Chris!
Hope you and yours are well, too!
A stunning piece. The interplay with shadows is something else too. Thanks for sharing :)X
It is very interesting…. It could be a toy. Clip together head pieces; make different face every time!
The shadows were fun! Hope you are well! 😀 X
Good idea there… interlocking, interchangable face parts! You just invented a new toy 🙂
Excellent photos.
The idea of the painting has something to do with a scene from Total Recall [see link here]
https://media.giphy.com/media/7LIsl18rfbMY/giphy.gif*
Yes, I can see that. I did not think of it, but now that you bring it up, it does make sense. I really enjoyed that movie!
Thank you…. about the photos!
Groovy. But crying out for a speech bubble, “Wot the bloody ‘ell is goin’ on?!” or some such.
“Ouch!” ?
“Jaw dropping art”?
No. What I wrote!
Where?
I dunno!
Fine!
I’m going to my other blog for awhile.
Will bug you from there later!
YOU DO THAT!!!!
I DID!!!!
GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
OKAY!!!!!!
WHAT?!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!
I’m starting to think you look like your Gravatar pic.
That’s cool. I can dig that. If I drink enough I’ll end up with jaundice and then it WILL be me. Hmmmm….
LOL!!!!!!!
Beautiful and interesting, Resa, but I have no idea of its meaning. Look at her eyes, too, they’re gorgeous! xoxo
The eyes are gorgeous! xoxo
I love your photos, Resa [with a slight preference to the veil of branches!] I would thing of a mechanical goddess bringing water but what puzzled me is the snake tongue! Then hubs reminded me of Total Recall;-)
xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo
Ahhhh! Yes… he sent me a message!
It is very Recall!!

🤗❤🥰🤗❤🥰🤗
This is a very interesting piece of art as you say Resa…. The eyes spoke to me…. Brilliantly done.. ❤
Have a beautiful week Resa… Much love your way ❤
Much love to you, too! ❤
This is definitely a cool work of art.
I found a portrait of MLK Jr. and made a post with many of his quotes. It's not like I hadn't heard his words before, but since re-reading them, I've been …. slowed down a lot. ❤
Very late answering comments! ❤
Like wise Resa…. We each need to follow our own flow and not get pressured into anything other than our own comfort zones.. taking lots of intermissions along the way ❤ 🙂
I don’t know why this reminds me of masks and face shields; an overdose of Covid? The shadow play is gorgeous.
Well, it has been painted recently. Who knows what the artist meant. You might have nailed the message.
…. Someone said; I know we’re all sick and tired of Covid 19, but Covid 19 is not tired of making us sick!
Crazy! I hope you are well, and things aren’t too, intense where you are!
The cases are coming down but things are far from over. Learning to cope and accept the new working conditions. Cheers!
Wow this is an interesting piece of art. So beautiful!!
IKR! Different and well done. I’m sure there’s a message in it!
This is a very interesting mural. Probably one of the most thought provoking
artwork you have ever posted. I ask myself did something blow her mind or
is she just filling out her taxes.
Either way, amazing piece. Would love to chat with this artist.
How are you? I pray you are well. 💜
I am well, thank you dear Lonely!
Lovely to see you about! I trust this means you are mostly recovered?
Interesting… I’m doing taxes, and my mind is blown.
💜
Think I’ll pop over to your blog! 💜
There is nothing on my blog, lol
I will be returning on Monday.
I am well and strong. I haven’t returned because it looks like I will be needing bypass surgery.
Oh my! Hang in there! I know people who have had that operation, and they are doing just fine, better than before.
Have they made a date for it?
The crazy thing is I know you are in Florida, and that rotten C19 is flaring there.
You know the beautiful Holly is a nurse & works in a cardiac unit. I wish she was your nurse! X💜O
Okay, no new poem… or post!
That’s okay. I await your passionate pen with purple patience!
💜
Yeah, nothing yet.
I am really well, missing you, blogging and all my friends,. So, I will return until the next surgery.
You stay safe. This virus hasn’t gone away.💜
…. and you have a lot of friends! I’m sure they are all waiting for you.
❦💜❦
We are all sick and tired of Covid 19, but Covid 19 is not tired of making us sick!
Oh Resa, this hollow head definitely has a message behind it 🙂 May be it is something political; may be it is just a line from a song. Isn’t it beautiful? Well done to the author!
Dear Resa artista, wow, very cool shots my dear! This artwork is indeed intriguing, to say the least. Love the way the tree is kinda “mingling” with the artwork and contributing to its mesmerizing effect, also! Really brilliant piece. Love the expression in the eyes also… amazingly captured. Thank you for this:) Much love to you Resa, hope you are well and your adorable cats don´t boss you around too much:) 😎💖 xoxoxoxo Abrazotes!!
