There are white squirrels in Trinity – Bellwoods Park.
Apparently they are not a breed, but more like albino squirrels.
They have created more white squirrels.
Toronto is so proud of these rare beauties …
That we have named a street after them.
I have not seen one, but I don’t have hours to sit quietly, in a Squirrel Zen State, with a bag of peanuts. Although, it’s on my “To do list”.

The Artist:
I like squirrels. Funny little guys. 🙂
Thanks for the post.
Squirrels are very adorable.
I know they can be a nuisance, but not always and let’s be humane.
I’d love to hold a squirrel. ❦
I wouldn’t try that. They have very sharp teeth. But yes, that lovely soft fur is tempting.
True… and they are on the list of animals that can carry rabies. #1 – raccoon #2 – Bats #3 Squirrels, or so it is in Toronto.
Yes, it seems to be a documented fact. Now having been raised in Africa, I stay away from wild animals as a rule. 🙂
I like them, too! 😀
There are many here in the garden. Sometimes they walk along the window sill of my library/study. Of course, by the time I grab my phone, they’re gone. Sigh
LOL!!!!!
They are not only gorgeous, they are worthy of having the streest named after them. Such a beautiful display.
You know Resa, it makes me wonder if this particular artist choose white on purpose. The way a poet selects every word carefully. Was the color white choosen to represent purity? Or little angels?
If I ever make it up your way, I definitely want to see these guys.
I think the artist chose white on purpose. I believe he is honouring the little things. They are little angels.
Apparently Canada is becoming a bit famous for our white squirrels.
Time to buy some peanuts, and head to the park, but first I’ve got to paint that black door with another Charlie Zero Micro Poem.
Hope all is A+ since hospitalization & your book is consuming your time.
They look gorgeous.
They are very special! So glad you like them! 😀
Thank you.
Pretty works!!
Agree!!!
Thank you 😊
Oh! Beautiful. I was just reading about the Albino Squirrels in Canada and here you are with a wall full of them. This little guy is amazing, excellent art and great catch Resa.
xoxo
Wow …. In Canada!
The white squirrels are taking over. It must mean something.
Maybe about global warming? xoxo
Would not be surprised, strange things are happening! xoxoxo
Definitely a job for PBH ! 💥
She needs to get on that right away. I mean, white squirrels, most suspicious!
Perhaps Andy Warhol was
actually a White Squirrel? 🤔
You have a point here! 😀
Andy was a white something. Interesting to the nth degree, and as influential.
I met someone who knew him. We met on an unrelated job.
What she shared was more than fascinating!
He may have been a white squirrel.
King White Squirrel …
of the Velvet Underground.
I think that’s a title he would be
most pleased with. Unlike David
Bowie comparing him with a silver
screen … and a bit of a scream 😎
Very well put!
The first 2 lines sound like the start of a poem!
I love him, or her!
Me too! x
Cute! I love squirrels but have never seen a white one.
Irina!
I haven’t seen a live one, either. However, I live close to where they live. I will keep on searching!
Good luck!
Really lovely squirrel mural. Cool you have albino squirrels. We have run of the mill sandy colored squirrels who like to tease the cats. Squirrel Zen might be fun. Nice to have a street named for them.
Apparently the white squirrels have been around for awhile. I found out about them around a year ago.
LOL, I can’t believe we actually have a slice of wildlife that you don’t!
It’s wonderful that they named a street for them. I go by that corner regularly, so that is a very new sign.
How wonderful. Lovely art and beautiful squirrels. 🙂 Yay!
Yay for squirrels! And we named a street for the white ones. 😀 That’s something!
Awww, how cute! Who wouldn’t be proud?!!!! Hera is also wagging her tail wildly!!!! Love and hugs your way! xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo
Ah! Hera and the squirrels. Works for me!

Cool! Trying to think about a contribution! Will let you know. Can you take a pic of Hera and paint a Mermaid tail on it?
That would be neat! Mermaid Hera!
A ha ha…. Mermaid Hera!!!! Love it! I’ll ask her and let you know!!!! ❤❤❤😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘❤❤❤
YAY!!! ❤❤❤😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘❤❤❤
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Would love to see a white squirrel too. Here in Southern Germany we have a lot of redbrown and black squirrels.
Seems we have some special white squirrels here. They are spreading across Canada.
Who knows where they will be next?
Squirrels – a nuisance, yet fun to watch. Bottom line is I them as more positive than negative. I recall seeing an albino squirrel for the first time. A bit of a shock, but hey – it’s just genetics. Cheers to you someday going for the squirrels zen state.
BLINK Cincinnati is this weekend. Start checking YouTube soon because someone surely will make a good video.
I know, they can be a nuisance, but I haven’t had that honour! Lol, all I know is I adore them, and that the ones around here are healthy with lovely fur (no mange).
BLINK is on! Will check the tube!
PS: There’s something in my current post that you’ll discover is meant for you … well, actually two, but one is obvious.
Heading over!
Thanks for this fun post Resa. I loved the white squirrel mural. I’ve only seen one on a video. However my neighborhood in DC had a lot of black squirrels. Their territory must be small, because there would be a lot of them on some streets, but I never saw one on my block. Hugs on the wing!
Thanks for the lovely comment Teagan! There are so many beautiful and wonderful animals on our planet. Yet, we are in danger of losing them.
Sometimes, I feel like “Get It While You Can” (Janis Joplin) in terms of enjoying them. HUGS!!!
Squirrels of excellence!! Nowt else to say.
True! xoxoxo
Check out Max the cockatoo on YouTube. He’s adorable. The bloke owner is in Calagary, I believe.
Ohhh, I think I know that, but I will check it out!
YOU DO THAT!
They sometimes get a bad press but I like squirrels. Cool they named a street after those white variants, and cool too that an artist decided to honour them. Thanks for sharing as always 🙂
I find people don’t like them when they get into the attic and breed. There’s always a danger they will chew through electric wires.
We have this black rubbery stuff that goes over the outdoor water pipes. The raccoons gorge on it. Raccoons can be intimidating, but the babies are beyond cute. I love watching them play.
I remember seeing racoons for the first time when I went to Vancouver – there were a dozen or so of them on an embankment being fed by tourists. Amazing creatures and very noisy when feeding like that as they were squabbling over the food.
Ahhh, urban wildlife!
We now have a growing bats population in Toronto.
The sound of raccoons mating is one of the most horrible sounds, ever! It sounds like someone being murdered.
Fun to watch the squirrels. Cute post.
Thank you!
The squirrels are really cool. I had never heard of albino squirrels before. We have a couple of squirrels in our backyard right now that are eating some kind of berry off of a fruit tree we have and they are higher than kites. 😉 Funny to watch. 😉
Ah, the White Squirrels of Toronto again. Love them.
❤ ❤ ❤
They are very cute and special. Genetics is amazing.
Agree!!!
This albino squirrel is captivating and beautiful art.
I’m very fascinated by albino creatures. One of a kind. 🙂
Me too! 😀
🙂
Miss you Resa. How have you been? How’s life treating you?
P.S Stay tune for my new post tomorrow. It’s going to be very different, a 180.
Sounds neat, Charlie!
I’m still contemplating Mascaras Other Prostrate. 😀 We had Canadian Thanksgiving this weekend and it’s been all family & food.
The title is something. hahahahaha!!!
You had Canadian Thanksgiving? How was it? I love Thanksgiving.
I’ve seen a white squirrel now on this page 😉 But not in real life. Over here there’s a brown squirrel that comes by on the grass outside my office window sometimes, so cute.
How wonderful! I love art like this and they’re so cute. We don’t have them over here. 😊
They are rare! 😀
