Blue Tit & Arnie in Blue

Direct from Manchester, UK; courtesy of Alex Morris via Professional Moron is this fabulous wall art of a Blue Tit,  by Sarah Yates.

“This piece was commissioned in 2011 by Converse as part of the Wall to Wall project. Sarah Yates is an illustrator focusing on topics of environmental awareness. She is well known for mixing graffiti with graphic design and taking inspiration from nature, especially from birds, which are her favourite subjects, as we can see in this large-scale mural depicting a large blue tit.”

As a thank you to Alex, I present this garage door art of Arnold Schwarzenegger.

I find the piece quite humorous, indeed.

If you have ever been to the Professional Moron blog, you will see that humour reigns supreme, which makes this the most apt thank you.

Of course it’s not all fun, much of which can involve Arnie & other famous personalities. Alex does fab book reviews, movie reviews and game reviews.

🌼Humungous thank you’s to Alex for the Blue Tit!🌼

I like both murals. The Tit is beautiful and nice it’s painted high on the building out of easy reach of taggers. Arnold with a daisy and butterfly wings behind is perfect and quite humorous. Professional Moron is an interesting site. There’s a lot of moronics in the world.

    1. I agree with you about high up street art being hard to tag. Although, every once in a while, I look up at some art and think; how did they tag that?
Also, noticed a tag at the very bottom of the Blue Tit.
Respect runs thin in the streets.

  2. Amazing wall art compliments of Alex (aka) Professional Moron (a favorite blog of mine ) who puts the fun in dysfunctional and brings a smile to my face every visit. So deserving of “Arnie” or is it the other way around? Wonderful post Resa, cheers to you PM!

    1. This post is all about the graffiti. And Arnold Schwarzenegger, whom I find simultaneously charming, weird, faintly disturbing, and amusing.

Now, excuse me, I have to get to bed. I’m on England time, you know? Tootle pip!

    2. Yes… the fun in dysfunctional is perfect.
I enjoy the PM blog a lot, too. The Santa & Easter Bunny updates are some of my faves. Oh, Agony Aunt is no slouch, either. 😀 😀 😀

        1. What??? You’d be a fab AA advisor.
          Uch!
I’ve applied for jobs there, but the only thing they offer me is apprentice (16 hours a day) with chainsaw privileges.

            1. Yes, but did you bring a flame thrower to the interview?
I found they couldn’t say no, with their singed eyebrows.
I might have been interested if the days were only 13 hours long, and if Billy Zane was the team captain.

  3. Yes, and if anyone is ever in Manchester it’s just off Piccadily Gardens in the city centre. And, yes, it’s always that cloudy here.

I went to great lengths to get those two pictures and also tried hanging off the side of the opposing building before deciding a street view was just as effective. Sometimes the dramatic isn’t as useful as the efficient.

Thanking yee for the kind words, madam, I shall reblog this.

    1. Hanging off the opposite building sounds fab! I’d love a pic of that. Still, who would take it?
Well, I suppose a reblog will have to do.
Anyway, this slice of Manchester looks very cool to me.
Again, TY for sending in the Blue Tit. I’ll be placing a pic of it on my side bar under Contributors. The pic will be linked to your blog. 😀

      1. A great privilege, madam! Reblog coming up.

And that bit of Manchester is near the Northern Quarter, where all the cool kids hang out with their fancy new bands. Oh, and Billy Zane went painting there once. In a class. True story.

        1. OH, Billy Zane! I worked with him on the Hendrix movie. He really is a great person. Of course, I am NOT name dropping by making this comment.

  4. Reblogged this on Professional Moron and commented:
Golly gosh! The fabulous Resa went and did a post about two graffiti pictures we took at the start of July. It’s a mural type thing just off Piccadilly Gardens in Manchester city centre. Behold the full post in all its thine (really eager to get that word in somewhere) glory!

  5. You may (or may not?) know that Sarah is more widely known as Faunagraphic and until a few years ago could be seen regularly painting around Sheffield. Her website is: http://www.faunagraphic.com and if you look under the commissions tab on her site you may even see one of my photographs 😏 It is the one of Harry Brearly on the Postcard Cafe link below….

The time lapse (on the above link) of Fauna painting by Richard Bolam is well worth a watch.

    Best wishes
    Mr C 🙂

    1. Those are all great! I remember a few, especially the Harry Brearley mural.
Of the ones new to me I especially adore the Faunagannets.
The Richard Bolam time lapse is very neat!
      Thank you, Mr. C !!! 😀

      1. I’m pleased you took a look at the time lapse. Richard had about 5 different cameras set up and it was obviously filmed over a number of days and it’s a great little video.
If you are interested to take a look at other work by both Fauna and Rocket01 then do take a look at The Mural Artists website where you’ll find plenty to enjoy. The Mural Artists I believe is their joint commercial identity.

        Keep up the good work…
        Best wishes
        Mr C 🙂

    1. IKR! It’s always interesting hearing people react to art.
These 2 images couldn’t be more remote from each other, yet they do come together in this post.

    1. Lol! Predator!!! I do like that movie! “If it bleeds we can kill it!”
The Blue Tit is a wonderful addition to my collection. 😀 😀

  7. I watched an old Arnie movie on Netflix last night. He was fighting a giant blue tit. The blue tit won, but Arnie will be back. 🐦🙄💖 xoxoxo

  8. Now that is a big tit!
And Arnie. Who doesn’t love Arnie? Especially when he is sporting butterfly wings and holding a daisy between his digits 😉

  9. The Blue Tit is so beautiful, I love this birds very much… And Arnie – well, I still don’t know what I should think of him, wether I like him or not. I only did watch a few of his movies.

    1. A few of his earlier movies were neat. However, when the whole scandal with his marriage broke in the news, I lost any respect I had for him. He just looks like a cheating fool!
Yeah, the Blue Tit is fab!

    1. Terminator 1 made me like movies, again. I was off movies for several years. I like a lot of his movies, but when he was involved in the extra marriage scandal, I lost respect.

      1. He has great movies. Terminator 1 & 2 are my favorite. I do agree with you on the extra marriage scandal. I lost respect as well.

Fact: Terminator 3 Dark Fate comes out this year, Arnold will be passing the torch to another actress to play the next Terminator because he’s done with that role and moving on to something else.

    1. The bird definitely rules that wall and the street! It is a cool blue Arnie. Too bad he’s not so cool in real life anymore…. since the big scandal.
