Resa and the Rock Star – Redux

Rene Rosso (aka Holly) penned a beauty in October, 2018.

Based on an old polaroid of Carmine & me, she came up with a poem that sticks in my heart and mind.  If you click on the pic, you will go to her original post!

Remember back when you were a rock star

and I was a hippie angel?

How comfortable we were with  our

heart  and souls bared.

Do you remember now that you are so far

away that night in Eden when  you came to me

and I came to you and the rest of the world

slipped away?

We held on to one another,  made love and cried

decided never to speak of how every time

the lights went out you rushed to me,

so tender, coming and going.

Young and in love, we named that month Sextember,

yes, it still matters to me.

Do you remember our anguished goodbye?

Neither do I.

Have EYE ever thanked Holly enough?

My cat – Jeep – Jeepo for short

I originally reblogged this on my Queen’s end blog. Now that GALM is all art inclusive, I will be moving many articles here. With the Jeep’s guidance, I will be consolidating both blogs, creatively.

    1. AH, Lonely, thank you so very much. Holly has a way, and to be honoured on that way is beautiful. Jeepo, well, I see she has you enchanted with her allure.

    1. Yeah, the Jeep…. I could only make her pic “medium”.
Full size, she would have stole the post!
      It’s a fun, cool post!

Wonderful Polaroid that inspired Holly’s beautiful poem. Eye love your one eye drawings, Resa. This drawing is particularly alluring, with an engaging look, beautiful lips, with a slight hint of a cat on her hat turning into colorful locks framing her pretty face. Jeepo is gorgeous. Looks like he rules the household.

    1. It is a neat old Polaroid. I have a lot from the Polaroid days, when we used it to take pics of fittings & continuity for films and TV. Carmine was in the first movie I ever designed the costumes for.
I’m really into the one eye drawings these days. After being more focused on a gown, I can just cut looser.
Jeepo is a little girl. I found her in the alley, years ago. She had a litter. Johnny still lives here, somewhere, in a closet.
Yeah, Jeep is definitely in charge of the household. Somehow, she has also taken control of the bed. It’s amazing how much space a little cat can take up. I love her a lot!!

I still have one or two Polaroid cameras around. They were very useful for testing shots, and getting instant feedback. Instant print cameras are back in style at the moment. I would think that Jeep runs the household, bed and all. Our kitties have to share the bed. Each kitty has a favorite place to sleep on me. Even with the heat, I still have 3 or 4 cats on me every morning.

        1. Hahahaha! I know what you mean about the heat, but the cats love it!! We sweat bullets, they are a purrfect temperature.
Yes, I remember photographers taking test shots with Polaroid.
I know this sounds old fashioned, but I miss actual film.
          Photos were more precious.
          Now, it’s overkill.

    1. Yeah, fun! 🙃😘
I am also fusing the 2 blogs. I think I mentioned it
. Anyway, I can’t just reblog if I plan to delete the Qe blog in the end. Our chats, guided by Jeepo, has put me on a creative path.
I’m sure I’ll figure another again-life for this poem.

            1. OMG!!! I love it! You closed comments before I found this comment and the post, or I would have been all over the comments. I got into watching movies last night.
Thank you, dear Holly! xoxo ❤

    1. I knew that one itsy pic of the Jeep would steal the post. That’s why I didn’t make it full size!
      🙂 xoxoxo ❤🙂 xoxoxo ❤

    1. Hug Jeep??? She insists on it! Hug me, kiss me, pet me, scratch me, carry me like a baby! it’s endless. I’m exhausted from loving her. At least she doesn’t drool. Vomiting is a whole other story.
I’ll give her an extra hug for you!

  3. I love your sketches … and I love that picture, when I saw it in Queen’s end it was a big surprise !!
It is a pleasure to meet the beautiful young woman who poses with the rock star … she is another great star.
    Kisses.

    1. LOL! Thank you so much my dear Belén.

    1. Her… her guidance. Yes, she will be leading (bossing) me through this time of change.
It’s a wonderful poem. Yet, Jeep knows that she is ever so much more fabulous.
      – Love from Jeep! ❤

  5. I wasn’t a rock star, so I didn’t have a troupe of angels for my pickings … nonetheless, love the link you drew from Holly. Cheers to the Jeepster’s influence on you combining your blogs.

    1. Yeah, Jeepo’s in charge of my getting it all together.
Anyway, it was a fun, long ago time. It’s nice to have a look back on good times, once in awhile. Mostly full steam ahead is the path I’m on!
